15mm to 50mm brads 100% in just adjust the knob

I just purchased this 18ga Brad Nailer and have tested all lengths of brads that can be used with this model that is 15mm up to 50 mm. I can confirm this does fully drive in 50mm brads but in order to do this you have to wind the big grey adjustment knob located on the back of the nail gun. if this is wound all the way toward the negative arrow it will leave about 10mm sticking out of the wood as mentioned in other reviews but when you wind it clockwise towards the positive arrow you will see the 50mm brad goes fully into the wood. I was able to pickup and hold all three nailer models in bunnings and found this model was the most comfortable to handle both weight wise and more compact which suits my requirements just doing benchtop woodworking.. Bought this 6 month's ago when renovating my laundry and was pleased with how it worked on the door and window trims but the 50mm nails were probably too big as my house has the old hardwood frames. I am now currently halfway through replacing the skirting, door and window trims in the rest of the house using 40mm nails and have not had a single issue. This really is an awesome tool, even my brother-in-law who's a chippy was really impressed with it. Only downside is it can get heavy with a big battery, so I use a 1.5ah and it still lasts for ages. Definitely worth the price

Excellent value.

Like most things Ryobi, and with reasonable expectations at this price point, the Brad Nail Gun punches well above it's weight division. It is reasonably heavy in hand but well balanced. My only negative it that the size of the gun can make it difficult to use in tighter spaces. But, on the whole, a great product for domestic use. Highly recommend.

First Brad Nailer and how did I survive without on
18 June 2021

I will say off the bat I had to already have this unit replaced. It stopped firing and was replaced no issues. Review is based on use otherwise.Great tool that I’ve never owned one before and how much faster it can be to build something this is amazing.Pros:-plenty of use on a small 2.5ah battery-easy to use and remove jams-easy loading of nails and nail view window-led lights makes things a lot easier-feels solid-priced well so good valueCons:-50mm nails seem to misfire a lot and struggle to drive into pine. Other sizes seem fine.-US version has more features like continues fire mode, why Ryobi do we always get lesser features for more $$ in AU?-hard to adjust the pressure gauge

Great for hobby enthusiasts.

Great for tacking glued joints. I make lots of toys and other small objects e.g. boxes and trays. This nailer works a treat. I have used 100's of 20mm and 32mm brads and they have all fired correctly (no jams). The depth is easy to adjust and I get consistent depth for all similar shots. I am 73 and have some arthritis issues but this tool feels comfortable and well balanced.

Nailed it !! 10/10
3 May 2023

What a crackin piece of equipment to have in your kit. Precisely what I needed to fit off some lining boards around the kitchen island bench. Was a little nervous to be honest how it would handle hardwood (Tassie Oak) with only 15mm brads but they went through like a hot knife through butter & the secret nailing results were 10 out of 10 !Amazingly easy to use & this is just another “proof in the pudding” review as to just how good this particular nail Brad gun is.Yet another quality Ryobi 18 v tool for my growing collection 👍😁

Not for some timbers
18 March 2022

bought yesterday using it today to add window sills and window trim. However once i finally worked out how the depth dialer and adjustments work i used 50 mm C1 brads.I tested several times and I've found that using Rimu on Rimu it doesn't sink all the way in and being such a small head when you try to finish it off the nails bend over.. considering I'm using it as a finishing nailer on windows its going to add extra work in putty filling ang tapping nails in so they aren't showing. MB I should have got the next one up

So much easier than using a hammer
9 September 2019

I bought the original Brad Nailer in December 2018 so I could nail Primed Pine Tri Quad Moulding as extra edging under the existing soffit panels but didn't use it until a couple of weeks ago. When I first went to use it it didn't work properly (seemed to lack pressure) and I couldn't work out why until I left it out in the sun for an hour whilst I measured and cut some moulding and it started working - it needed to be warm to work!! Knowing the workaround I continued to use it as I had a tight time schedule and it worked extremely well and was easy to use (far better than trying to use a hammer and nails). I contacted Ryobi and found that the warranty procedure was extremely easy - just return the nailer to Bunnings and swap for a replacement. which I did. The replacement worked without an issue.I also have an electric handsaw, whipper snipper and blower - having them all portable and compatible to the one rechargeable battery (I have a couple) is a fantastic feature and I will be expanding my range of portable electric tools to Ryobi as my current ones fail.

Very happy so far!
10 November 2022

I bought this to replace an old pneumatic brad nailer. The tool is nicely put together and comes with easy to understand instructions. The first job I used it on involved fixing pine to hardwood using 50 mm brads. It did the job easily with no jams and no half driven brads. It is early days but I'm very happy so far. My only criticisms are that it is fairly heavy when you are up a ladder (though not having to drag an air hose along was great) and that I can't find a way for it to stand up happily when I'm storing it.

Works great with a couple of flaws
27 August 2021

Works great and never had to recharge a battery nailing skirtings for a 2 bedroom home.Downside is that it doesn't nail in a 50mm brad nail fully in. So had to use 40mm on my skirting and trim. Also, if you don't insert the brad nails in properly to the bottom of the cage, it won't fire properly. I thought there was something wrong with the nail gun, but just need to be precise when inserting the brad nails.Apart from those two points it worked great.
