One of those times where you should listen to the reviews. You his blower vac is absolute junk. I paid for the more expensive electric one thinking it’d do a decent job. I was mistaken. You will spend half the time trying to get it to suck up anything as it gets clogged every other moment. Maybe as it doesn’t suck hard enough to be of any use. I bought this around 6 months ago. Im literally going to throw it in the bin and buy a corded one.

Blower was OK, but not great. Seems a little underpowered compared to others I have used and goes through batteries yery quickly. Was quiet by comparison though. Vacuum is not much use and you can't detach it. Better to just blow the leaves into a pile and use a rake or similar to collect the pile. Overall seems overpriced compared to similar models, including other Ryobi blower only models.

The Ryobi Brushless Garden Vacuum & Sweeper is easy to use. I use it around my pool area and paving area for leaves etc. Having the battery supply saves on using extension leads which can be cumbersome. I have upgraded my lawn mower and whipper snipper to Ryobi as well so I can use the same battery supply for all units. This makes outdoor work and cleaning up much more convenient.

This is a great garden Blower/Vac that "munches" the leaves as it sucks them through to the collection bag. Occasionally the chute will get blocked but that is very easily fixed. The collection bag is a great size and very simple to empty without evenhaving to remove the bag from the unit. the small cutters surprisesingly do a brilliant job at reducing the leaves to a nice small size perfect for composting quickly or for use as mulch. The weight and balance of the unit is good and the shoulder strap is good to have towards the end of a long day in the garden, but the unit is not too heavy considering it ia large unit. The adjustable positioning of the roller wheel is a nice touch to be adaptable to different height folks. The 3 speed button system works extremely ... The adjustable positioning of the roller wheel is a nice touch to be adaptable to different height folks. The 3 speed button system works extremely well with only having 2 buttons total to worry about. *** The only thing is that even a 5mA battery does not last particular long (which is typical for hungry blowers & blower/vacs) if you have a lot of leaves or large garden to deal with and especially if they are large London Plane tree leaves as I have to often deal with… so what would be ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT if Ryobi could offer an extension cord adapter that fits the battery compartment for those times when your battery is being recharged but you need to finish the job without having to wait for the charging to finish! (I have 4 batteries… 2x 5mA, 4mA and 2.5mA… but they are often all empty when tackling the entire garden tasks)… for such a powerful unit it is understandable that the batteries do not go on forever :-)
Great product. Straightforward to assemble. Has a surprising amount of power. Sucks better than my base model 240v units! Bag design is ideal for emptying and is designed to last longer than competitor's units. Battery lige is also exceptional, giving heaps of capacity to do my yard and driveway. Mulching is quite fine and is not blocked by small twigs like my old unit. All in all, great purchase! My only warning is that the "ON" button is a "hold for 2 seconds" type which is a trap if you didnt read the manual!
Great product having 25% more power with 3 different power settings to be chosen when comparing with the previous similar product OBV1800. In addition, the detachable power housing is easy to clear up in case mulches are stuck in the power housing. This was difficult to clear up those mulches in the previous similar product. However, there is one drawback in the vacuum bag. Instead using traditional zipper, it uses a ruler like opener which is sometimes difficult to close the vacuum bag after clearing the mulches.
For a non professional Blower Vac it work well, there are some down sides like the battery life, I have found that I'll get 1 full bag of leaves to a battery and thats using an 4.0Ah battery to which I have 2. I did find the switch a bit odd at first but its fine now. I do like how you can strip it right down to clear out any larger objects that may get stuck instead of just burning out the motor. Over all its designed for the home user not the professional so just remember that when you buy this product. And it is a battery powered unit so if your after a tornado your looking in the wrong place your better off with a petrol unit possibly. :-)
I recently updated my old mower to a new Ryobi One mower and to continue the spending trend, grabbed me one of these on the same day. Unlike the mower though, I'm not quite sure I'm ready to give up my petrol blower vac for this thing just yet. Granted, its much lighter so doesn't give me a backache and is quieter (though I listen to music on noise cancelling headphones while blower vac'ing regardless), I just have yet to feel like it was worth the purchase just yet. It rips through the battery much quicker than I expected, performance and maneuverability isn't amazing (I've adjusted the wheels but to pick up leaves it does need the nozzle close to the ground and getting this balance just right is difficult - too close and it'll try suction itself to the ground, too ... The on off button needs to be held down to first turn it on and then you up the speed setting (3 speed options) with another button which is a bit more fiddly than the pull the throttle on the petrol blower I'm accustomed too. Then again, bag or blow setting is far simpler so a win there. It'll get a proper test in winter when my Frangipani dumps all it's leaves.
Great piece of kit, I upgraded from the 240v version of another brand. Loving the freedom of not having to unroll and untangle a power cord (and find somewhere to plug it in) every time I want to vacuum up or blow away a few leaves. The tool has plenty of power for both functions and when using the vacuum function it makes great fine mulch for use elsewhere in the garden. Highly recommended as an addition to the tool bag.
This product was extremely hard to turn on from brand new. Managed to use it a few times & once it was going it was good. But rarely started after that. Used a fully charged battery which powers all my other Ryobi devices without a problem. Returned it & got another new one but same problem. Cannot even turn it on. Noticed other boxes that were open up on the shelf of the same product. Obviously lots of other people have returned theirs as well.
