I've had two of these jackets. Both were great for trail running and biking in colder weather. Fit was great, sleeves long enough, which is hard for me to find because I'm 6'3" 175lbs. Most jackets are either too big in the body, or too short in the sleeves. Unfortunately, on both jackets the inner waterproofing liner starts to flake off after about a year, not even with serious use. Pretty disappointing for a jacket this expensive. Last time I wore it, my friends thought I had a terrible bout of dandruff because I had white flakes all over my neck and shoulders from this jacket peeling off onto me.

Salomon have many great, great products, but this is neither waterproof nor breathable, despite how it is marketed. It is lightweight, a good fit, packs small, and has good structure, e.g., zips but it is not effective even in a mild drizzle.

Waterproof, yes. Breathable, no. I don’t sweat an awful lot on my easy runs, but when wearing this jacket, even without full zip and hood, I come back and I’m wet from sweat, my top is stuck to me, it’s not very nice, it’s just not breathable at all unfortunately, I expected better

Received this product as a gift ahead of a 100-mile race in summer. The jacket is a huge waste of money, do not buy! Its barely waterproof and not at all breathable. If the temperature is anything above 0 degrees Celsius you will be swimming in sweat by the time to you finish. For the price they charge and the reputation of Salomon I was extremely disappointed
Bought this jacket for trail running. I’ve tried it a couple of times when it rained and was always more weat on the inside as the outside. The ventilation doesn’t really work.
Bought this jacket a week ago and went running in small rain weather yesterday. The ventilation sucks. Had it open with vent button but my arms and shoulders had no ventilation. Probably a jacket just for small walks without strain
The jacket is less than 5 months old and has never been in anything like heavy rain due to owning it over the summer period. As visible from the pictures, the jacket's colour has somehow bled and is visible from both the back and the inside of the jacket.Following a warranty claim I was successful and awarded a voucher for redemption only of the same category (a jacket). This jacket is now no longer in my size, and, due to losing faith in Salomon's jacket's quality I contacted customer service to enquire as to whether I can either be refunded (£60 less than the voucher offered) or swap my voucher for store credit so that I can redeem my warranty claim on a product I trust and have ordered before such as shoes. I was informed this is not possible unless the jacket is no longer available (it is not, in my size. making a replacement impossible). After disputing this, the customer service advisor said it is not possible. As a result I asked to make a complaint, the advisor then said my case had been escalated and ended the chat on me (I assume for fear of having to own the complaint).I will be replicating this review on TrustPilot and also looking into my consumer rights on this subject. Be warned, Salomon's customer service has greatly decreased in quality and care and these warranty terms appear to contradict themselves.
Had this now for a couple of years.Light rain is fine, anything steady or heavy and it will get through. Echo the other comments on breathability
Older model Bonatti jackets I’ve had have been great. This one though, is not an improvement. The fit is bin bag like - gone is the slim fit of old. I can only presume they’re trying to appeal to the casual market rather than the running market. Curious. The hood is still good, though. An equally problematic issue is the breathability; there isn’t any. It’s proper boil in the bag - much like the fit it has bin bag like qualities. A shame - a jacket that used to be great has been made a great deal worse. So much for progress.
it is sad to see how disconnected are the processes, my package was never delivered even if i paid 12 euro extra for express delivery. UPS said that the package was fist damaged than it was empty. Meanwhile after contacting customer service 5 times (20 minutes waiting to get someone on the line) and email exchange multiple times, i had to wait that an unknown internal process was completed (it was never clear, why i had to wait for an internal process to complete, if i was not involved at all?) to start another process to receive my money back (it took about 3 weeks). the official website was saying that the sending was completed (?) the only information i could find was following the link of the track and trace. a terrible experience
