This jacket is on my mandatory packing list for any serious adventure where it might rain or snow. I’ve used it for the Moab 240 and a snowy R3. It’s quite literally a life saver. Solomon also fixed the one thing I wished for in my old version => they added pockets.

Great buy as part of EOFY sales. Purchased a larger size so it can go over my pack for ultra runs. I use and recommend these as fully compliant for major ultra runs due to taped seams etc. I find them super easy to pack down into the pocket even mid run - not overly hot and sweaty to run in yet keeps me dry even in heavy downpours.

This didn’t happen when Salomon had the trail running version of the bonatti jacket. It had a flat hem that protected all over from rain and did not ride up.The water resistance: already going away during its first season of use (less than 10 rainy runs). The material on the arms is already losing its waterproof so my arms are soaked by the time I get home. This is what happened with the trail running bonatti jacket and the reason that Salomon graciously replaced it for free. But the replacement isn’t better and in fact it’s worse.The reasons that I stated for giving this jacket such a bad review are the reasons why I liked the trail running bonatti jacket. The hood was more compact and I could hear around me when I ran, the hem the flat, there was some breathability in the jacket. It got changed to just the bonatti jacket and the style changed for the worse. I plan to buy a different brand of waterproof running jacket next time I buy one.

Pros: I like the light weight, slim fit which is true to size, three storage pockets, water proof, and color. Cons: I do not find this to be breathable, I sweat in this jacket. The like the pockets, but the zipper pulls are so small they get stuck inside the material. I also, do not like the crunchy sound that the fabric makes. Overall I rate it good, not very good or excellent.
This jacket worked out great. I wore it for a marathon then again in Japan in the rain. Very comfortable.
If there was ever a perfect waterproof jacket made, this is it. Spent hours from light rain to pour-downs, kept me dry in all conditions. Fit is true - everything is well designed and thought out. If fully zipped up - ventilation helps, and with proper moisture absorbent layer very comfortable.Would buy this again and again and again. Perfection.
An initial review, as I haven’t worn in the rain yet: the berry color is beautiful in person. The jacket is incredibly lightweight. I like how the hood is designed. Cons: I’m typically a true size small (size 34A bra) and the small in this jacket leaves little room for layering. I also really wish it was longer (why are women’s rain jackets always so short?!) I’m 5’5” and this hits right at my hips.
Needed a rain jacket to handle strong winds with a lot of rain. Love it, I’ve used it for a few of my long runs (3+ hour runs) in the rain and wind (gusts to 30+mph) and it held up beautifully. I was warm and comfortable (as much as you can be) the whole time. The jacket didn’t feel restrictive in my movements, and I wore my hydration pack over it. And it felt breathable to me. The hood was perfect, tight enough to stay on, but not so tight that it felt restrictive. Overall, would recommend for strong winds or light to downpour rainy conditions.
Bought the jacket as a gift for my wife. The sizing is a little smaller but still fits ok. However, the opening on the sleeves is rather wide ans should be better will an added straps or elastic cuffs. It's very lightweight and wind proof. Have not verified if it is waterproof.
So far I have only used it for winter running in Montréal. Perfect for winter running (as low as -10 celsius) as a windbreaker on top of other layers. Super light weight. the option of unzipping and keeping it close with the button is great.
