I personally have the Speedcross 5 and am obsessed with them when I have to be on my feet all day or have a ton of walking to do (Like Washington DC). This is my third pair of Speedcross trail running shoes. I loved the 4's, and the 5's had even better features, so when the 5's wore out, I ordered the Speedcross 6 in the same size as the previous 2 pair - 7.5. I've tried your road shoe styles but prefer the Speedcross trail style because of the fantastic ankle support provided to runners like me without strong arches. I wear these everywhere -- even on the treadmill. Plus the mint color and style draw all kinds of compliments. I also like the little tuckaway pocket you added for the shoestring in addition to the original pocket. I just wish you had the same style without the heavy lugs for road running where we don't need the intense grab offered by the heavier lugs on these trail shoes. Till then, I'll keep buying the Speedcross.

I have the GTX Speedcross 5 versions for a couple of years now and these feel exactly the same. Just as comfortable and featherlight. The lacing system is very convenient. The grip is amazing on rocky terrain as well as regular forest ground but I’ve had a couple of slips. I’m generally a 6.5 and find that Salomon shoes run big so I went down to a 6 in my previous pairs but found that I’d get bruising on my toe nails. So definitely stay with the usual size that you are so there is a enough room for when the foot moves forward.
I was so happy to see Speedcross Womens wide in a color other than navy blue (not a popular color in the Rockies). The Speedcross used to be the best trail shoe out there, but it’s continuing its decline from version 3. As usual, after only 3 months of wear, the treads are worn down to nothing in certain areas making the shoe no longer stable. The upper material is very thin so that it wrinkles when I snug the shoe up. Worse though is that I used to be able to wear my Speedcross in the winter but these are much to cold due to the thin upper. Support is minimal. I’m so sorry I have to find another brand that’s more stable and rugged for actual trail running.
Very disappointed! I have speedcross 3 and love them. Size 8.5. After having two kids my foot size increased by 1/2 size. I got a speedcross 5 size 9 and love them! I immediately ordered another pair same size and they were huge. I returned them. Recently I decided to try again. I got speedcross 6 size 8.5 and 9. Size 8.5 are too narrow and 9 are too long. Solution should be 8.5 wide. However, I got 8.5 wide and they are huge! They fit like the big 9s or a 9.5. I removed the tags when I got them as why shouldn’t they fit?! But they don’t. I haven’t worn them and can’t wear them. Would love to be able to return them and maybe try 8 wide? I just don’t get it….
I've been buying salomons for quite some time now and I stand by them 100%. This company is incredible. I ONLY wear Salomon trail runners as I have bad feet and these are so comfortable for me. You can not beat their warranty either. A 2 year warranty on sneakers is magnificent and I have used it before. They were prompt when dealing with the warranty and I got my new sneakers in no time. I will continue to wear these trail runners. They look great as well and I get lots of compliments on them.

I definitely felt a lot of traction and was able to easily go up and down steep hills (30-40% grade). In general, I do get a knee pain if I go down many steep hills, but not with these shoes! I've noticed that my step is a lot softer going down. They get 4 stars for being 0.5-1 size longer without explicitly saying that. If I bought them online, I would've had to return them for a smaller size. The store associate confirmed that it is the case with these shoes and some other Solomon shoes. I always wear 9.5, but purchased a size 9. If I had more time at the store, I would've tried 8.5 as 9 is still long. ... MoreThese choose are so comfortable! The stiff rubber in the tread are so big and knobby, they dig into your feet if you walk or run on any kind of rock. You can feel each knob in your foot sole if a knob hits a rock. The upper is minimal and flexible, so if the trail is slanted, the upper does not support your foot from sliding in that direction, unless you really tighten the laces to an uncomfortable level. They are described as "mixed terrain" but because of the above, they are really only good for flat terrain of mud or grass with no rocks. It is very disappointing because they feel very comfortable on carpet, cement (i.e. where you try them on), but on any real trail they are useless. Other than that, they have a cushioned sole, good arch support, and a medium to wide toe box.

These are so perfect for me that I’m contemplating the purchase of a second pair in case they get discontinued or changed. Wore them to Pine Grove Furnace State Park, PA this past week. Right out of the box! Brought to wear on the trails but they were so comfortable that I wore them around camp too. Hated taking them off. The color is AWESOME and looks great with so much of my stuff! The lock laces are easy to use. There is a finger loop/grab on the tongue to hold when pulling on so that the tongue doesn’t fall into the shoe. There is not a heel loop/grab (which would be a nice addition but not enough to not buy these). By your regular size and get outside, your feet will love them!
