I love Salomons, have been a massive fan for a long time. Bought these as the fit was better than my preferred quick lace option.Recently worn for 320km of through hiking in the Outer Hebrides- a mixture of terrains from road to beach to grass to stony hill climbs to bogs.They have done well in that they are comfortable, they remained waterproof when not completely submerged and there is barely a sign of tread wear. Really good in the grip department.What I am really unimpressed with is the wear on the inner top heel- the cushioned section right at the top- within a week there was a small tear in the fabric on both sides. Now after a month it is obviously bigger and will continue to deteriorate to become problematic.A $200 (on sale) shoe shouldn't be doing ... MoreI love Salomons, have been a massive fan for a long time. I bought these for a winter holiday. They keep your feet warm and dry and very comfy for long walks.I have bought this brand of shoe before so knew I needed to go up half a size and glad I did this time.

I bought these last minute, last week, for some hiking through the Porongurups . These shoes were soft and comfortable and I didn’t need to ‘wear them in’. We walked over 10 km the first day without any blisters or pressure marks and no next day muscle fatigue to stop me the following day. I was impressed with the way they gripped to whatever surface I was walking and climbing on. I’m a big, heavy girl and climbing up is scary but climbing down is even scarier. These shoes were perfect, not once did I slip. I’m a convert!
I have only ever work Salomon walking boots for years and treated myself to walking shoes. They are comfortable, keep your feet dry, lightweight, no hot spots at all straight out of the box. Really like them.
