I've gone through so many different boots in Arizona (Blundstones,Red Wings,Ariats) trying to find something that lasts longer than 6 months of crawling through attics, climbing up and down scorching roofs, walking miles a day through rocks and hard soil. These Salomons have really exceeded my expectations, apart from the first two weeks of breaking them in, I dont even notice them on my feet anymore. A full year in and they still are in great shape and they still have enough tread for another summer. Reinforced stitching in the right places, a toe guard that hasnt worn through or shown signs of deterioration, a color that hides dirt and powdery insulation residue, and an easy on off design. I love these boots, great job Salomon.

Purchased these shoes for when I visited south Korea for upwards of 25km of walking / hiking a day. Spent time breaking them in before I left to make sure I didn't destroy my feet. After the second day of using them putting maybe a total of 10KM on them, I had to stop wearing them. The shoes were pinching and crushing my pinky toes to the point where the tendon on the toe was so bad bruised I was unable to walk properly for a week. I've done countless long walks and hikes as well as a few rucks in my youth with other footwear and I never had so many issues. The lace mechanism would also loosen over time and were also not very comfortable for standing in one spot for a long period of time like on a subway car for example.

I was hoping for something like a cushioned running shoe feel but this fits the bill for now. My job includes a lot of walking and stairs and this boot far exceeds my previous duty boots. I wish it had a more cushion feeling, but it is a boot, but probably the most comfortable boot as the insoles inside do have my foot aligned on the money. Boot seems well constructed.Order two pairs to ensure proper sizing. I felt the 11s might have more than necessary slack all around but the 10.5s, my toe would hit the front on some movements. I went with the 11s.

For years I have experienced flaws In many brand named shoes. During my career in law enforcement boots were either miss sized or overstuffed with padding creating foot issues. When I first saw these boots I liked the color and thought I would give it a chance. Salomon makes great boots. When I received them they looked great and fit perfectly. Great arch support, no pulling down of the socks. I want to say there was either zero break in time or one day at the most. I may buy another pair just so I have an extra pair on hand.
I purchased these to be my catch all outdoor/workout shoes while I attend veterinary school on the island of St Kitts. I owned salomon shoes in the past and loved them. So I decided to purchase these to use for running, hiking, and general use.For general use they are not bad except that in order to tighten the upper most portion the shoe has to be cranked so tight my foot hurts. This is an issue that I ran into with running in them as well, in order for them not to slip they must be tightened an immense amount that it becomes uncomfortable. As for hiking, the sole in these are not like my old salomons. I hiked 8 miles in these in one day and felt like I had bricks strapped to my feet afterward. I would not recommend for hiking or long distance walking/running. ...Ā MoreI purchased these to be my catch all outdoor/workout shoes while I attend veterinary school on the island of St Kitts. You are better off with a boot such as the Lowa Tibets or any number of combat boots on the market for hiking/rucking and a good running shoe.Overall disappointed in the product and the service for not standing it and helping me find an alternate solution to having a $200 closet ornament. Recommend spending the little bit of extra money and buying 2 quality shoes for specific purposes. Also, consider buying from a store, such as REI, so that you know that will take back an unsatisfactory product.
I currently own multiple pairs of the XA Forces Mid, they are my favorite shoe period. I was very skeptical purchasing this new style of XA Forces Mid due to the lace pull being situated in the top of the tongue of the shoe (like the Speed Assault 2) instead of the regular position. I hated how the Speed Assault 2 fit and I hated the lace configuration on it (very uncomfortable for me). However, the lace pull layout on the new XA Forces Mid completely surprised me. Not only is it comfortable and easy to use, it adds another layer of ankle stability that I have not felt before on the regular version of the XA Forces Mid. If you are on the fence about this shoe, I would 100% recommend trying it out! The best mid boot period. I give an edge to the Quest 4D in comfort and overall build, but sometimes you want something lighter. These will replace any shoes or sneakers you own and you will find yourself wearing them every day. My only complaint is Salomon's quick lace system. Mine always come loose. After I re-tighten them again they seem to be mostly fine. I've asked others and some people don't seem to have an issue. Salomon offered to give me a new set of lacing for them, except they were on back order. I'll swap them eventually and see if it helps. Otherwise I might try using paracord as normal laces.
These boots are sanely a major disappointment to me. My primary issue is the ridiculously thin laces that put too much pressure and cut into the top of the foot. Even more frustrating, the laces do not stay snug with the obligatory āspeed laces.ā Because I want to love these boots and use them at work, I bought a pair of thicker laces and cut the old pair off. However, to my surprise there is a plastic insert in the eyelets which are not necessarily a bad idea except they prevent a new set of actual laces to be inserted. So now I am sitting on a $200 pair of boots collecting dust in the closet because I canāt find a pair of laces to fit.Solomon sells their branded laces but I have no idea which to get meaning which alternative that would fit and I donāt want the ...Ā MoreThese boots are sanely a major disappointment to me. the shoe itself is great. lightweight and hardly know youāre wearing one at all. but finding the right sizing was difficult. you almost have to order multiple pairs and send the ones that donāt fit back. the quick laces were nice. throughout the day i had to tighten maybe 2 times (not bad). overall, i liked the shoe but had a struggle finding my size online.
Absolutely thrilled with my purchase of the Salomon XA boots. From the moment I laced them up, I knew these were different. The comfort level is unparalleled, providing excellent cushioning, support, and foot protection even on the roughest terrains. They have a high-quality, rugged design, ensuring durability and long-lasting use. Moreover, the grip is incredibly reliable, whether it's a muddy trail or a slippery slope. Breathability is also top-notch, allowing my feet to stay dry and comfortable during long hikes. But what really stands out is the boot's lightweight nature. One slight downside was the break-in period; they were a bit stiff initially but became super comfortable after a couple of uses.Overall, I would highly recommend it.
