The Salter EK5258 Plant Milk machine makes tasty plant milk. A good sized machine, it provides a large amount of plant milk with a choice of two water levels, minimum 1300ml or maximum 1600ml. I use a Phox Wave water filter jug, with a bonus of no throwaway cartridges, to fill to the 1300ml level. This supplies me with a litre of plant milk for the fridge and a tasty freshly made cup to enjoy. Remember that the plant milk will separate and does need to be shaken before use, this is normal and not a problem. With no additives and preservatives that you find in manufactured containers of plant milk, this homemade plant milk is produced at a fraction of the cost. The container for storage of the plant milk in the fridge is my choice and reusable. I make almond milk from just three natural ingredients, skin on almonds, water and dates, for sweetness. The main "must do" is to soak the nuts well as this creates a smooth milk. Do not be tempted to reduce the length of time required for soaking! I use the pulp left in the filter basket to make my breakfast muesli. If you buy containers of plant milk regularly then you will soon recoup the cost of this machine and you will enjoy a healthier product. Enjoy, as I am doing!

The little metal arm at the bottom of the filter tray broke before I could even use it once. I'd read a review here that said it wasn't really necessary, so I tried to do two batches, but I found the product poorly conceived and impractical. The water-to-nuts ratio doesn't allow for any creaminess, even when I tried doing a second round using the "milk" I'd made the first time with a fresh batch of nuts. It's impractical to get the level right: you need to keep removing the top part to add or remove water to get between the minimum and maximum lines. Once it's all done, the filter doesn't get drained: it just sits there, so there's no device that replaces the squeezing you'd do manually with a cloth. It's a big clunky piece of equipment that doesn't even work as ... MoreThe little metal arm at the bottom of the filter tray broke before I could even use it once. I bought the Plant Milk Maker 2 weeks ago and would highly recommend it. The clever filter basket which keeps the pulp away from the finished milk is great and the combination of effective blades with fine mesh on the filter means almost totally clear milk to drink. This is the best plant milk maker I have used and would highly recommend it.

Absolutely love it. Less messy than using a regular blender and then straining it, and the milk is better. Easy to clean. Great value for money. Feels sturdily constructed. Fits in my cupboard without too much hassle. And absolutely hypnotising to watch!
This milk maker does the job quite well, has a handy metal screen filter to filter out the raw food material, it needs some experimentation to get the required results though, the method provided by the instruction booklet was not very easy to follow so you end up following your own prefered way of doing the operation. The internal white plastic container needs something to make it easier to remove and install, it's quite fiddly and nonsensical the way it is explained in the instructions. The bottles that come with the machine have tops that can be overtightened and difficult to remove and fit. Overall not a bad machine that could be made better.
It works but it's hard to make a thicker oat milk as, for me, the oat container filled to max line and the water is at the minimum level. An oat milk recipe didn't come with the machine (but I am maxing the oats and minimising the water.) Soaking the oaks overnight stop the milk being slimy.I've seen online that some milk makers come with two baskets (they have differently sized holes in the mesh) - but this model only has one basket.
This is pretty decent plant milk maker. Cup full of oats makes over one litre of thinnish but ok oat milk. Then add some magic bits n bobs and heat it up to mix the oil with the emulsifier to give the oat milk more depth. Little bit of salt one teaspoon calcium carbonate and sometimes bit of arrowroot
I did my research into milk machines and even though there were a few reviews that stated a piece fell off I went ahead with my purchase from Salter. It arrived promptly, well packaged and ready to go. Following day I made my first bottle of oat milk. I added a few soaked almonds, 2 dates and a spoon of flaxseed powder. I was extremely impressed. One minute to make the milk and 2 mins to clean as I did it as a self clean on the blender mode. When I got to my 3rd time of using a small metal arm fell off. Can I say that I will NOT be contacting Salter as it's still usable and makes no difference whatsoever to the efficiency of the machine. Plus, I don't want to send it back as I really do love the milk machine and don't want to be without it. I gave 5 stars even though the small metal arm fell off because the machine works perfectly with or without it.
This milk maker makes making Almond Milk a breeze. I previously used a blender and then had to filter the milk through a strainer which was very time consuming as well as causing lots of washing up. With this milk maker I just add my almonds, pour in the amount of water needed. Press the buttons and in less than a minute its all done. I would recommend this item to anyone who likes making their own nut milks.
Very easy to use and not too bulky of an item. I bought this to store in our motorhome and it fits perfect under the seats. Used for the first time this week to make rice milk and worked a treat. Easy to clean and store away again until I need it again. The only little little snag is the holes on the strainer could be slightly smaller as there was a slight gritty taste to the milk. This is easily solvable (if it bothers you) by using coffee filters and placing them within the strainer giving you extra filter process (just a preference thing).
