I find it a wee bit cumbasum doing the motor flush as well as signs that it is going through the motor ; ie, white flush through the telltale etc.The boatwash is is okay as well as the pistolgrip spray/wash mechanism and a cupfull does all of the boat and trailer nicely.

Bought this as I couldn't find Salt Away and thought I would give it ago after seeing numerous advertising about it.The "musket" leaks and does a weird spray pattern and does nothing like what is shown in their advertising videos. The wash didn't really do anything, still had a heap of salt deposits left over on the jetski. The engine flush I am unsure if it did anything or not as its internal but after seeing the results from the wash I washed it again with my usual product and noticed all the salt deposits gone.Be good if they spent more time and money on their product instead of something that is a tad better than rinsing with normal water. Would not recommend!

I have mixed feelings about this product. The wash itself is very good, but the captains musket is useless. It barely made any foam so I tossed it.I now use the soap in my foam cannon and it produces lots of foam.

Wow this stuff makes a lot of claims about how well it works but the soap wash really fails miserably. At $30 a litre it is so ridiculously overpriced. Two applications as described using the overpriced applicator famed a nice foamy wash but failed to deliver. A third application using a sponge and bucket did eventually complete the job. This product doesn’t work any better than the cheapest stuff I previously got from BCF you still need a sponge and bucket and shammy dry for a decent result
Do you have Faulty captain's Faulty musket. Is your Musket not foaming or the engine flush not running clear solutions just suspended in the reservoir yes then like me you have Faulty Captain. Easy fix the water inlet on the reservoir has not been drilled. To fix remove the aerators pic 1 then remove the two screws and remove blue piece pulls straight out p2 may need to remove black rubber seal p3 select foam you should see a hole that needs to be drilled out it is only thin so go slow or twist the drill bit by hand p4. Solution dose work fine hopefully Salty Captain fixes the quality control
The solution does a pretty good job at removing the salt residue from the hull, but for a decent job some scrubbing is required. With the outbaord flush, unless you've got a hose connection on your cowling don't bother! On outboard muffs, the weight of the gun will just pull the muffs off resulting in your engine overheating and the solution basically ends up on the ground! Aside from this, the one big negative is the really poorly designed o-ring seal on the solution cup! It takes some very careful assembly for the solution cup to seal properly, otherwise it leaks like a sieve! However, the o-ring seems to be the wrong size and will either fall inside the cup or get twisted in the thread. Promises lots but fails to deliver, doesn’t work any better than any other cheap detergent. Detergent wash doesn’t work as described you still need to use a sponge and bucket method or salt will remain. The over priced delivery system and soap is a complete waste of money hopefully the engine flush works better but how can you tell for sure, the results might not be seen for years
Salty Captain Rescue package, it looks impressive and works ok. I have not been impressed by the musket. It does not foam nor engine clean as i expected. The foaming... well it does not foam. The chemical sits in the bowl and it does foam a bit if you shake it a lot. Same goes for the engine was except you can not shake that.I might be doing someting wrong but the musket seems to be the let down. It looked so promising.
Performed more or less as expected..soaped up..definately had some effect compared to just water as I did a test either side of boat and car. Dunno how you would know if the engine wash is doing its job, but cleaning stuff goes in, cleaning stuff comes out so box ticked there.
Dose a job but not what's said on the packaging still had to scrub the light road grime with a broom and hand mitten to get it clean. Going back to truck wash and wax when I run out of this stuff, half the price for 5Lt and dose a better job with little effort.
