Firstly, I love Sam Edelman and have several beloved pairs from here. I just purchased these loafers and LOVE the style of them and was so excited to wear them. I however was immediately greeted to some extreme blisters and bloodied heels to the point where I had to ask my fiancé to bring me another pair of shoes at work because I seriously couldn’t walk. Any advice on breaking these in or avoiding blisters? I love them so much and the fit feels so right, just so much friction on the stuff heel!

Beautiful shoes, comfortable sole, but make sure you go up a half size! Best decision I ever made was exchanging them for a half-size bigger and putting foam heel liners in the back to keep them from slipping off. When I tried these on in the store, I immediately noticed that the toe box was very uncomfortably tight/narrow. Kind of shocking since my feet are super narrow. I thought about letting them "stretch out" like the clerk suggested but a lot of reviews said that they never got more comfortable and were in fact, super painful.

I purchased these in black box leather and dark mocha. You have to allow these to stretch and for me that was a painful process! I ordered some heel protecters from Amazon and that helped. I don’t know why but the black ones seem to have stretched and formed to feet a lot faster, for some reason the dark mocha is much tighter in the top of one foot than the other and still needs some wearing in after two all day wears. Both pairs are beautiful though, I really do love the look of these shoes! I sized up from my usual 8.5 to size 9 and that was a good choice.

Bought several months ago. First time I wore them was TERRIBLE. They rubbed and were just painful. So I tried again with socks but did not do much better. Wore then today for work after trying to reshape/stretch out the heel a bit, but to no avail. Still have the same problem of rubbing the heel. Typically shoes rub where your foot bends back, but these rub lower, on the actual heel of the foot. Not the comfy work shoe I was hoping for. No complaints about the style though, they do look super cute!
This shoe is such a beautiful style and such a nice combo of the chunky loafer style and the classic loafer. However, the description is incorrect in that it states that it has a fabric and leather upper when in fact it is all man-made materials and looks very cheap. It states that the leather sock is leather which I assume is the lining but the outside upper is man-made. The fit is amazing and these are super comfortable but the plastic leather upper just looks inexpensive. Definitely not worth the price.
I have the modern ivory loafers and I absolutely love them! However, it took me 4 tries to get this shoe to fit right. I’m usually a 7.5 so I originally bought a 7.5 in the black box leather but they were so big. I exchanged them for a 7, brought them home & my big toes were absolutely smashed. I ended up returning it and gave up on this shoe. Then I went to the SE store & tried a different black leather & size 7 were too big. Finally I decided to try a different color & finally the modern ivory fit perfectly in size 7.The sizing is so all over the place that’s why I’m giving it 3 stars. I’d like to buy the black ones in the future but don’t know if sizing will ever be correct.

I looked the world over to find a perfect pair of brown and black loafers. I thought for sure these were the ones! The pain these caused me was as if I took a cheese grater to my ankle. They may be the nicest looking loafers I have ever seen, thus I am so sad over them not working out for me. I give two stars because they are so CUTE but absolutely not wearable. I was thrilled to receive the package, but immediately disappointed after opening the box to realize the upper material is not real leather. It is obvious - the color is not not like the item pictures online, very flat, cheap plastic looking brown. I knew the most colors of the Laurs loafers are synthetic leather, but I was believing the dark mocha color comes with real box leather based on my previous conversation with a store stuff. soo comfy. i’m a true size 8 (slim/medium width) and went and bought them in person since i wasn’t sure about the sizing and all the sales associates advised sizing down half a size so it feels snug at first and doesn’t slip at the back of the heel when you’re walking in them. they said that over time, the shoe will become looser so don’t get your normal size, otherwise your feet will be slipping and sliding around in the future. (they also said to wear thicker socks than you’d normally wear with the loafers and stretch them out at home over 2-4 days before wearing them out and about)
