Bought the Samson Mixpad Mxp124FX as a main interface for my computer for podcasts and streams, however doing so is virtually impossible. You have no control over what is sent to the computer through USB, so you won't be able to do a mix-minus over USB like many other mixers of this price range. Another major flaw is not being able to hear the main mix when you have USB to Phones toggled.Overall this board is great and sounds great for anything that does not involve built-in USB.

I purchased this mixer for a livestream performance with vocals and pre-recorded audio. It has multiple channels with XLR and TRS inputs, as well as RCA connectors, so I was able to hook up my microphone and DJ controller. Streaming sound quality can be hit or miss so I was very impressed with the sound this mixer generated through the USB.

Excellent size! Four mic inputs using Samsons MDR preamps. Compressor on first two mic channels for extra control. 60mm faders for accurate volume. 100 effects included. For the user that needs to record their mix, there is a built in USB to hook up your mac/pc for recording. Most mixers this size don't even come with faders!I am a staff reviewer for Sam Ash Ontario.

If you were getting interested about doing some live sound and were afraid at prices of other mixers, this is a great little option. It has a total of 12 inputs so you can mix a lot, but it has only 4 XLR inputs for vocals or other mics. Still you can plug instruments like keyboards and guitars into the other 8 inputs. It has built in effects like reverb and delay, and 98 more! It has phantom power for condenser mics. Samson introduced the mixpad years back but then it slowly faded off the market, and now its back and with better features and updated components. For a user who needs a basic mixer with onboard effects this is the unit to go for. Its ease of use also attracts people who don't need a highly complex mixer. The USB IO also allows for playback from a computer as well as the ability to record a basic stereo track from the main outs of the mixer. The effects sound very clean and professional, the layout is very intuitive to use, and it feels like it is built very well. I was very surprised to see how many different effect presets there are. With 4 mic channels and 4 stereo 1/4" channels, this mixer can be used for a lot. I have my home theater system hooked up to it so all I have to do is adjust a knob to switch sources from DVR, gaming console, or an auxiliary cable from my phone or tablet. Then when I have a small gig, I can just pack it up and have more than enough to run all of the inputs I need. I need a portable mixer to carry around. I've had a Soundcraft U16 digital. Hook up permanently in a facility. This MixPad 124 FX works beautifully. Effects are easy to control. The control layout is simple to reach within 1-2 seconds. I love it for the simplicity and price. It performs are perfect for vocals and instruments alike.
This mixer is small but powerful. Four great clean microphone preamps and 3 band eq on every channel make this perfect for live or rehearsal situations and its usb functionality turns it into a 2-in/2-out audio interface perfect for recording and/or project studios alike. On top of all that, you have fx that you can send to every channel to make your mixes sound more lively and give every signal its own space and character.
