Average Write Speed

I purchased the Samsung 512GB Pro Ultra as an add on to my Budi (upgrade) portable storage drive. I connected it to my Windows 10 Pro PC to test and it was detected. I copied a 434 MB video file in just a quick couple of seconds. For a 15.5 GB file, it took about 6 minutes with an average write speed of 36 MB/s. I compared it with an 512 GB, SD Extreme card. I copied a 72 GB video file. Both max write speeds were about 37 MB/s. Copy time was around 30 minutes. This card is good, it's write speed for large files are about the same the leading brand with similar features.

This product fails miserably to deliver expected high speed transfers. Samsung claims file transfer speeds are UP TO 130 Mb/s. Technically, this is true, but only because any number between 0 and 130 can be considered UP TO 130. The reality from my experience is a high of 23 Mb/s, an alarming 107 Mb/s slower than the potential highest speed. Yes, I know many factors have to be considerd - internet connection, computer,etc. While my setup is far from superlative, it is certainly capable of file transfer speeds of up to 130 Mb/s. I use a Lenovo IdeaPad 3. Connection is Xfinity Broadband with speeds up to 300 Mb/s. My computer and one mobile phone are the only devices connected to the network. The product itself delivers less than 18 percent of its alleged potential (17.69 percent of its alleged top speed). I am impressed by the enormous storage capacity (477 GB) but that is overshadowed by its dismal speed performance. Overall, performance was most important to me with this product, far outweighing features and design, resulting in a deserved one star rating. I will credit Samsung for its phrasing of "UP TO" involving transfer speed. It is not a lie, it's just unlikely to happen. In the same context, everywhere is within walking distance if you have the time.

Good performance with possible flaws.

It fits snug into the Moto smartphone micro SD card tray.Inserting and especially removing the SD card from its original standard SD card adapter is a bit challenging, as the micro SD card fits a bit too snug, so removing it from its adapter involves extra effort.Thanks so much for reading my review!

Perfect for my Sony A7IV Camera!!!

Absolutely love this memory card with the adapter! It is extremely fast and holds a crazy amount of photos! Currently using it in my new Sony S7IV Camera and have had absolutely no issues with it. With having a second slot in my camera, I am already planning on picking up another card just so I can have a backup in case I am out and find myself too lost in the shot that I lose track of my storage haha! I also just got married and got some stunning photos of the setup, family, friends, and the cake! Its nice to know that I can not only rely on this to hold everything that I need but that I can trust it to keep my photos and memories safe without the possibility of having problems later with getting the pictures off of it!

Perfect for the Sony ZVE-10

When I picked up a ZV-E10, one of the first things I noticed is that none of the video cards would allow me to record at the full potential of the camera. The Samsung Pro Ultimate let's me unlock that potential. It captures high speed burst of photos without stuttering. Video recording is smooth at the highest setting. With the 512 GB size at a reasonable price, I can keep swapping out batteries all day and not worry about space. Transfer speeds to my PC are fantastic and keep my workflow moving. I have not had a Samsung microSDXC Card fail since I started using them with my action cameras a few years ago.They are fast and reliable. I'll keep buying them as long as they make them.

Ships with slow or faulty card reader

Just got around to testing this card in a Maschine+. Timed the loading speed at over 11 minutes before I switched it off. I then put the same micro SD card in a different card reader, an Integra Pro which I believe had the same write speed as well as being U3 A2 V30 and that took less that 45 seconds loading about 250gb NI content plus around 200k user samples. Either the card reader is faulty, or it's not fit for purpose. It did take over 3hr to load this content onto the card on a M1 Mac Pro in it's internal card slot, which I wasn't sure if it meant the card was slow. Now, with the M+ at least, I can confirm it is very very slow card and reader package and i wouldn't recommend this card because of it
