This 32" HD TV is the first new TV into the house for a number of years, and the first Samsung since a 42" Plasma set - so that tells you how old it was. I've had it a week now. There is no terrestrial aerial signal where I live so this TV will rely on a Sky HDMI feed and the internet for all of its content - I have to say that setup was an absolute breeze using my Samsung S20 phone and the SamrtThings app.The TV Was plugged in (power, Sky and ethernet) and turned on. I used the displayed QR code with my phone and everything else was done from there in a matter of minutes. The picture is good and sharp, the sound is what I'd expect for a TV of this size and price (connect to an audio system or soundbar if you want better). The Samsung interface is pretty ... MoreThis 32" HD TV is the first new TV into the house for a number of years, and the first Samsung since a 42" Plasma set - so that tells you how old it was. The TV also picked up my NAS on the network and is able to play music, show photos and videos stored on there - all of the formats I've used are supported.All-in-all, can't fault the TV at all. Thanks Richer Sounds (and Samsung!).

I'm surprised no one has complained of the delay on changing channels on controlling the volume. Upon start up you have to wait almost at least around 30 seconds to change the channels or volume or anything else. It's almost as if you are warming it up. Even once "warmed up" when you press the guide button it takes a while for it to come up. I've tried to update the firmware and factory reset but still no change. Maybe it's a fault with my set. I've got older tvs and the functions above are instant. Based on my experience I wouldn't recommend. Try before you buy.

Always keep the spare bolts and washers from wall bracket kits. Even these M6 bolts needed extra spacers. My 43 inch Samsung was also a pain to wall mount due to an odd curved back. No idea why such a prolific manufacturer messes with the mount specs so much. Anyway all fitted now.I like the Samsung picture quality. I know others will argue other TVs in this price range are better but I’ve always liked the vibrant and punchy image quality. Very happy in the knowledge that it’s covered for 6 years

Good Value, Great Picture, shame about the sound
30 November 2021

Firstly I have to say the service from Richer Sounds was fantastic. The TV arrived sooner than expected. The TV is great for what it is intended for, a 2nd set in our bedroom. Being a 32" I was very aware that it will not be as good as some of its larger counter parts. I choose this specific TV as it had all the apps I wanted to use as this TV is a streaming device only.It is neat and compact and the picture quality is great. The smart menu is easy to use and all the apps I need are there. The settings menu is a little basic and this brings me to my only down side of the TV. The sound is really not very good. I had read reviews just like this and so I was expecting it. But I have to say I was still surprised at just how tinny it sounds. I need to turn it up very loud to be able to hear all the talking properly and back to that menu, the sound settings have next to know options. There is no way to bring up the base a bit etc.So to remedy this I have bought a sound bar to go with it. TBH I did not want to buy a very expensive one which costs the same as the TV, so I actually got about the cheapest one I could find. Although this in itself is very basic, using the optic audio out it works fine and the sound quality is much better. This is not an idea situation and it is a shame the the TV speakers are not just a little better. My previous TV was an older Samsung, 32", and its sound was fine. So it can be done.

Bought from Argos to replace my last similar Samsung model which lost it's picture.Been getting Samsung for a while now (mainly for the Apps (Britbox, Amazon Prime, Netflix etc.)This model, has taken my faith out of Samsung:Sound Quality is very poor now (probably because the TV has got thinner and the frame is narrower. My biggest disappointment however, is that you can no longer access the BBC's Digital Text service. I know the BBC threatened to take this off air, as a cost saving exercise, but after the back lash of complaints it was decided to keep it running (although offering a reduced service). Not a good product
21 December 2022

Bought this on 1 September 2022. I was going to buy my trusted Panasonic TV. But brought Samsung as advised in JL shop. Do not like this TV.Because I have hearing problems the sound is terrible. muffled and not clear. Even when you change the sound to TV speaker and Amplify still very unclear. No 7 day guide where you can view days and time of films etc.The Guide is on a black background with very small print and I have to really squint to see what is on.Because of the problems above I wish I had continued and bought my trusted Panasonic TV. I have decided to get rid of this TV and buy a Panasonic in the New Year.

This TV is ok

It was frustrating that the spec on this TV doesn't confirm it has a freeview tuner - it simply says "TV Plus" (which streams TV via the wifi - so could use up bandwidth on your wifi connection). I can confirm it DOES have a freeeview tuner which works fine. The TV is generally ok - picture & sound are good.Things to note - IF you activate the wifi/smart TV function by putting in your email/router password etc then John Lewis will not replace it but will insist it needs to be sent off for repair if there's an issue - so suggest you check what you can without activating wifi first. I found this out on a prev TV when I called JL with a problem - very irritating they don't publicise this clearly in their T&Cs !Bugs me the mounting screws needed for a wall mount are ... MoreIt was frustrating that the spec on this TV doesn't confirm it has a freeview tuner - it simply says "TV Plus" (which streams TV via the wifi - so could use up bandwidth on your wifi connection). I guess I should consider myself lucky the remote came with batteries in these penny pinching days !Finally I hate the daft plastic feet that mean you have to have a long surface (min 750mm long) to stand it on rather than the much more versatile central flat plastic rectangular stand that was usual on older TVs, but as I was wall mounting this one it wasn't important.

I do not like writing critical reviews, but I am afraid this TV, in my view, does not deserve a high rating. It is not the picture quality, but the general experience of using it. The controller is very cheaply made and the buttons on it constantly click and stick. This means that you constantly flick past the app, for example, that you to access. I also find the controller very confusing to use too and often myself stuck on a 'feature' pop up I can't get out of.Moreover, the sound is beyond terrible - due to the fact that is a very thin screen. This is, I am told, fairly typical these because everyone buys sound bars and everyone has home cinema set-ups. Well I do not and nor do want the TV to dominate my home - hence a 32-inch. No wonder no one has any money - the big tech companies have us all over a barrel.

Won't work with headphones!
9 December 2021

I bought this assuming that a brand new TV would have the capability to work with headphones. Unfortunately in hindsight that was a foolish assumption on my part. This TV doesn't have a headphone socket nor Bluetooth capability. I didn't realise this until after I had set it up. I tried in vain to use another product, the SV1770 Bluetooth transmitter, to make it work with my Bluetooth headphones. Despite claims that it makes non-bluetooth TV's Bluetooth compatible I found that actually it does not. I contacted Samsung thinking I must have done something wrong as the transmitter definitely pairs with my headphones, and is connected to the TV via the RCA sockets, but the sound is still coming out of the TV speakers. I contacted John Lewis customer support, something they have a good reputation for and a big reason I bought the TV from them for, only to be told that because I had entered my WiFi password and personal details when setting up the TV (as per the instructions from the TV, it prompts you to do so when you switch it on) that it is no longer classed as unused and therefore they will not refund me or even swap it for another TV instead. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told the same. Before I had finished speaking the supervisor also hung up on me. I will be appealing to trading standards as I don't think it is unreasonable to assume a brand new TV will work with headphones, nor do I think it is made clear that by entering your personal details during set up (as instructed to do so) that that invalidates the right to return something as not fit for purpose. Appalling customer service and very unexpected.

Yes, it still has Freeview!
31 May 2022

I've been looking at TVs for a while and this one sounded great, but could find no mention of Freeview. After reading many (very positive) reviews I did finally find one where they said it does indeed come with Freeview via and aerial, so I bought it straight away. As is the current trend with TV stands, the feet are wide apart, so a problem for me as it would be sitting on top my HiFi stand, but no problem as there are plenty of after market solutions, albeit annoying to have to spend out more money. Back to the TV. I have a Samsung account and it uses this (if you have one) to set everything up via you phone, but this can be done manually. I previously had a 32" Panasonic which was 11 years old but had a horrible buzz on bright pictures, but this TV is completely quiet, result! Overall I'm very happy. The bezel in reality is a little wider than all the promotional photos but not a problem. It comes with all the apps you might want and extra channels too so you're spoilt for choice. My first Samsung TV after many years as a Sony fanboy.
