I purchased it, from a popular IT distributor in Romania, on 09-Oct-2022 and it sat in the original packaging (due to a concurrence of circumstances) until 02-Oct-2024. In the same order were also 2 USBs from SanDisk. The SanDisks have a 60 month warranty, the Samsung only has a 24 month warranty. Today, 18-Oct-2024 (ie 9 days after the warranty expires), the Samsung is no longer working. But SanDisks are used daily. While I wasnāt expecting write speeds to be 400MB/s, (actual write speed 110MB/s) I was expecting sequential read speed to be 400MB/s. Well, itās not even close. 250MB/s sequential read speed is the limit.. random reads are much slower. Note: the āperformanceā driver option doesnāt help. 256GB purchased directly from Samsung. Magician says āgenuineā āno compatibility issuesā

Bought this back in March to upgrade from my lousy 8GB āvintageā flash drive that I used in high school. Realized it was time for an upgrade since that device was 10 years old. Safe to say, quite happy with this product. Copy speeds are lightning fast and I put videos/recordings on it and view it off of my monitor/tv, which is also super smooth. Easy to carry around and does not get that warm when in use. Gets super cold to touch when itās colder but Iām not complaining lol. Highly recommend if you need an improvement as well.

I tested this drive against some others and found it towards the middle of the pack in writes, about 60-65 MB/s sustained throughout. It read as advertised around 390-400 MB/s.Big props to Samsung for by far the least painful and least wasteful packaging. Way easier than the other brands to unpack, which is a plus if you are sending lots of drives out to clients or customers.I really like the color and material of the drive, but the weird obsession with lanyard loops went a little too far here, it makes the drive really impractical to ship as if you put this in a package, the big triangle will pop out. I wish they sold a version without the lanyard loop, or redesigned it to not pop out. I bought this a couple years ago and the flexibility of being able to use USB a or USB c makes for the perfect companion when transferring files from my phone to the computer or from my phone to a friend's phone. Nowadays a lot of flagship phones don't have the micro SD card slot and as sad as that may be the ability to still use expandable storage externally makes up for it. I purchased this Samsung flash drive to replace the Tesla brand one I had. This is the same flash drive that Tesla uses but with the Samsung branding instead of the Tesla custom branding. I got a good price from B&H on this 256GB flash drive. It replaced the 128GB Tesla usb drive.This Samsung flash drive is made of metal and is very stylish.
