The TV design and quality is very modern and sleek. It is well designed with a thin body and strong supporting base. The display is absolutely beautiful and provides rich colors and depth, additionally the picture is incredibly sharp. The brightness of the TV even during the day with strong sunlight gives a beautiful picture and doesn’t disrupt the viewing experience. There is minimal glaring and the blacks on the TV are very rich. Sounds are toned and deep and provide an enjoyable viewing experience especially where there is loud noises in what you are watching. The Samsung Tizen OS is very user friendly and easily allowed me to add in all the apps I like to watch on my TV. Breathes life into whatever is displays!

You may have seen HDR on your TV, almost every screen out there does it. However, you haven’t truly experienced HDR until the display is *putting* the “high" in High Dynamic Range. The Samsung Q90D Neo QLED does exactly that. It boasts an awesome almost 2000 nits of brightness. An average television set that supports HDR will do about 400 to 600. That isn’t nearly enough to do HDR visuals justice. The QLED panel in this set has so many zones of localized dimming, making dark areas of the dark parts in scenes actually look properly dark. That’s right, you can stream Xbox games to the TV with an internet connection and man is it smooth! The display even supports Ultra and SuperUltrawide aspect ratios. So you can use it as a computer monitor and fit two full size Internet browser Windows side by side for massive gains in productivity! The image quality is so sharp and the TV also has a speaker setup that does surround so well, you won’t be missing out on any details. The unit is slim and so light, making it perfect for all around use cases. I’m in love!

Although there are a multitude of rave reviews regarding the picture quality of this television set, actually achieving that goal is both frustrating and tedious. Therein lies the problem. Once you've managed to navigate the settings and achieve that perfect picture; change the channel/station and it all goes out the window. Nothing is consistent between broadcasting networks, programming, and even advertising; which only leads to more time wasted tinkering with the settings.Viewing the spatter of 4K pictures and short videos in "Retail" or "Maintenance" mode provides an experience of unparalleled awe and wonder; a fantastic preview of the capabilities of this television. Unfortunately the translation is lost in "Home" mode.In short, I have been a dedicated purchaser/user of Samsung televisions dating back to the early 90's and currently have two "older" LED sets, a 32" and a 49" (UN49NU8000); and though less technologically advanced, by all appearances they provide a better and more consistent picture with a lot less tweaking to achieve the consummate viewing experience than either the QN50QN90D or QN50QN90C . The older models have a "Natural" picture mode which has been eliminated in the newer models; unfortunate, as that mode seems to provide a good starting point to achieve a great picture with a lot less work.One final observation: When entering the "Home" screen of the older models (now referred to as the "Smart Hub" in the new models), the current programming passing through the cable box/AVR continues to be displayed in the background which allows the user to exit and maintain the input source; even when exiting an app. Not so with these new models; though there is a "Live" option for live programming as a background, it lacks an ability/option to connect to the main source of input (ie: AVR). So, if an alternate input source is used such as an app, when exiting in an effort to return to the main source of input (again AVR), the user is forced to navigate to, and select/change the input source back to AVR, as it is no longer displayed in the "Recent" window; an added and aggravating extra step.Overall, I give the QN50QN90D a grade of C; primarily due to my inability to achieve an acceptable, well balanced and consistent viewing experience across the entire spectrum of programming that our satellite network provides. To be clear, that programming is also available to us via fiber optics which offers no discernible difference in reception. In my humble opinion, for the current price of this unit, it should be blowing my socks off. In that respect, I'm disappointed because it doesn't.

Great image and audio as well as lots of apps!

It helps to have a Samsung account which is easy to setup also. With the default it was clear and crisp even at the lower and higher volumes. If you need to tailor the sound to your own requirements there are a set of “Expert” settings that you can play with.Smart FeaturesYou can connect all your devices to the TV so that you can manage them all from the SmartThings App. Albeit, this did take awhile to locate my devices that were on the network.Remote Control.To be honest the TV’s remote control is a bit tacky, the buttons are small which could give some people accessibility problems. It does however have the standard buttons to load Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney.Is there anything that I should know?Currently you cannot use the BBC iPlayer App on this TV. It took a while to find out that this App was not installed as I would have expected. I tried to download it and failed. I did a little digging on the internet to find out why this was the case and I discovered that the BBC had not yet certified any 2024 models from Samsung. Stunning Television!

This is my 3rd Samsung Q90 Series TV. I have the 75" and 85" from 2019 and 2021 I believe, and I decided to grab the 2024 QN 90D Series. All I can say is WOWWW! I already had the top of the line Samsung soundbar so hooking up and enabling Q-Symphony to have sound coming through the soundbar AND TV was a snap, and the sound is incredible, especially when watching action/adventure movies and turning the sound up. At times I've felt like I was in the theatre! Setup was super-easy. The TV automatically booted up, recognized every device I had plugged into it, downloaded all of my saved data from the Samsung cloud in a few minutes, and now the Samsung remote controls everything...love it! I made a few tweaks to the picture but nothing big.

Superb TV all around

When it's always come to televisions, I've always recommend to friends and family to go down the Samsung route.This TV was to replace a 10+ year old samsung TV, the tv it replaced was still good, however with the evolution in TV quality, it was falling behind a lot due to it only being 1080p.The packaging of the TV was what you would expect, well protected and not a lot of unnecessary Polystyrene or cardboard.I was extremely impressed with how thin the TV actually was. This helps with it sit nice and close to the wall when wall mounted. It auto switches when using a local app on the TV from the HDMI inguest.Overall the TV is amazing, the quality is the biggest benefit we have seen from it.

Obvious things first, the TV is super skinny and if mounted with the matching Slim Fit mount will look amazing on the wall.For such a slim TV the sound is surprisingly good with a fair bit of bass when watching films although no where near as good as if a soundbar is used.The picture is sharp and colourful, the blacks are dark and there is no glare. Viewing angles are also superb. A good party trick is the upscaling of of SD channels to not so quite HD but good enough not to annoy me when no HD channel version is available. There's also a fitness app with plenty a free training videos. Yes, most are pulled from free streaming services but they are well catalogued which saves endless scrolling (and getting distracted). I have a Galaxy Smart watch that will also transmit the fitness tracking directly on to the screen.On to the things that might not be so obvious, the interactivity between other Samsung devices is amazing. There is picture in picture with my phone so I can have a workout on one half of screen and sport of the other. Or, a program on one side or your cameras on another - if you live in a house so big it's long way to the door and are waiting for guests :) Speaking of cameras, you have full control of the house's smart devices via the SmartThings app, so you can control your heating, turn lights and appliances on/off and any other things else that might integrate.Inputs on the back are plentiful with HDMI, USB and e-ARC and a special shout out to the remote which has a mini solar panel on the back and can be charged via USB C (no more scrabbing around for batteries when they run out!).All in all a great all-rounder (even has a gaming mode that I have yet to try). Amazing as a TV (which what 90%) but take the time to deep dive and you will be astounded as to what this product has to offer.

TV - 5 Stars, Cable Management System - 0 Stars

The TV itself and picture quality is excellent, as you would expect from the flagship (for Australia anyway) 4K Neo QLED Series of TV. However, the cable management system is atrocious. The concept seems great, but execution of the concept is horrible. Firstly there are only 4 channels to physical run individual cables along and into the TV stand (exit point), yet there are 7 possible inputs (4x HDMI, 2x USB and 1x Coax), that's 7 cables. Then you have the power cable on the other side of the TV. This makes a total of 8 possible cables fitted to the TV with only 4x channels in which to run them. And then, only one of those 4x channels is big enough to fit quality thicker cables, but needs to be used for the Coax due to its large 'standard' thickness. On top of all this, the gap in the TV stand to channel cables through and down behind the TV cabinet is so small you're lucky to get 3 cables through it (including power cable and Coax leaving room for one HDMI/USB cable). Any more than 3 cables and the TV stand cover will not fit/click back into place. The whole cable management system is useless. Needless to say, I am not using the cable management system at all, rather a series of Velcro straps to hold cables up and out of the way so they can't be seen from the front of the TV. In saying that though, with a decent Sound Bar like the Q990B, C, or D in place there is little chance to see underneath and behind the TV anyway. Probably why little to no effort was put into the design and practical testing of the Cable Management System...lol.Overall it's a great TV (let’s hope it lasts longer than my 2022 QN95B, went through two of them in 15 months, why I'd also recommend getting extended warranty), but as for the cable management system, Samsung, fire the designer and use the One Connect Box on more models.
