Upgrade your system Don't just add more storage to your PC. Bring the speed of your system to the next level. The Samsung 980 M.2 Internal SSD is designed to get you a solid boost for gaming loading times or accessing huge spreadsheets seamlessly. Impressive performance When it comes to SSD read and write speeds, the bigger the number, the better the performance. And the 980 has more than enough speed to power through huge workloads. Thanks to PCIe 3.0 interface it can achieve read speeds up to 3,500 MB/s and write speeds up to 3,000 MB/s. Durable yet compact The 980 SSD is built in a tiny M.2 form factor, which means you can easily slot it into compact PC cases. And you won't need to worry about upgrading any time soon - the 980 is protected from overheating by nickel plating and heat-spreading label. And it's backed by a 5-year guarantee.

I have a kingston m2, my youngest has a oem ssd, but my eldest son was on an old 7200rpm 1tb hdd for booting. Well no more. From minutes to true boot to just a matter of seconds, you can't really go wrong. I also used the samsung monitoring and cloning software which you can get for free. It worked well. The old clunker had about 700 something GB, which i needed to safely clone due to mods and apps galore, so a fresh install was out of the question.N Now samsung migration tool is supposed to change drives and wipe the old drive etc etc, it didn't do that so i had to change boot order in bios and manually delete the old drive, apparently migration tool doesn't like it when the drive is over 2/3rd full, but none of this is difficult, just half an hour of messing ... MoreI have a kingston m2, my youngest has a oem ssd, but my eldest son was on an old 7200rpm 1tb hdd for booting. Needless to say my son is chuffed, he used to turn his computer on and go make a drink while he waitede, now he needs that drink premade because there isn't enough time. Got this a few bucks off on sale. So far a good bit of kit. M2 drives are the bomb.

This is not the Pro version, just the standard, and in a Thunderbolt 3 enclosure I have, I never get more that 1600 MB/s, but for it's reasonable price, I'm not complaining. It did need to have a firmware upgrade, done via PBTech support department as the necessary upgrade tools only run on Windows, and now it correctly drops to sleep mode when not in active use, generating much less heat and using much less power. All in all, a reasonable product.

No negative things to report. This is the first time I have bought anything from PB Tech and am most impressed with them.Have since bought a Samsung A7 tablet from them and then, did a third purchase, which was 2 x HDMI Ultra High Speed (2.1 Spec) cables. Will be a returning customer. Love the FULL month of Black Friday promotion.

I recently upgraded from a HDD to this M.2 and the difference is absolutely incredible. This SSD allows for extremely quick download and load times. I used to turn my PC on, and sit on my phone for about a minute whilst waiting for it to boot, now by the time I pull out my phone and turn it on my PC's already booted. The only con about this may be the price, but buying this product during a sale is an absolute steal. But I would still recommend this SSD without a sale if you got the budget.

Died in 9 months, samsung aren't even talking to meDrive was great for 9 months and then just stopped being able to write - so total OS lockup. Managed to recover my data but can't write to disk and there are several dead blocks so the drive is effectively dead.Spoke to customer service and they said all the right things, told me it would be replaced and the RMA team would be in contact.A month later and no contact. Nothing! Several long waste of time calls to customer service - just ask me to wait. They can't even find a reference number for the RMA team's progress.Samsung's warranty appears to be garbage. 9 months of a 5 year warranty and I not have a drive to use for my research. Quality and yet to return a Samsung product

Perfect. I have 2 of them. 1 with the built-in heatsink and the other using my motherboard heatsink. Thermals are exactly the same and both are beasts in all aspects. I also have a 1tb 970 evo pro that has not skipped a beat. I sound like a Samsung rep, while wearing a Samsung watch, using a Samsung phone and have 2 Samsung TVs.. (just realising this now).. Heck not to mention building friends PCs and using Samsung HDDs from long ago. I think I disserve a Christmas gift!Back to this product. Not a single issue and benchmarks exceed most reviews.

Really good. On most cases better than Base980
26 July 2021

Have one in my laptop for more than 4 years.Got 2 in my main rig for more than 1 year.Spec wise these are better than Base 980 over the board. These go on sale for close to AUD 100 most of the time making these great value for money. Most of my collegues run 970 evo plus (1 main + 1 Game drive)We never had issues and do not know why people complain about drives getting 'broken'Have not observed too much temps but at the same time did not watch it actively.Well never had a hiccup until today since 2017 for the first drive so would say it is pretty good.

I ordered an SSD around 5:15pm and was impressed to receive my item the following day.It was a struggle to enable hardware encryption inside Samsung Magician as my desktop wouldn't detect the drive using the bootable USB in the process. However I managed this by using another desktop.. sadly in the end Bitlocker refused to use hardware encryption for the nvme as a system drive. It was my first time trying to use such a feature, so I can't blame the device really. In the end I managed to use sedutil to enable opal 2.0. Preboot authentication is now required otherwise the drive seems unreadable in other systems or when booting to another system. Exactly what I wanted.Pretty happy with my purchase.

Great price and shipped really quickly. Easy to install even for a person who isn’t strong with the inside of a PC.Only negative I’ll say is the product doesn’t include a screw which was necessary for installation on my motherboard. However, I believe this is down to Samsung as the manufacturer of the product it would be nice for them to include all necessary parts to use the product. Pc case gear did great!

Very nice very fast compared to hyper x ssd hard drive

This is a great upgrade from an ssd hard drive even if you have the fastest ssd, 600mbs this m.2 is 3400mbs on the test roughly so it's a good upgrade. Stable and nice, I can't say it's improved frame rates of anything but it loads a lot quicker. This is a Gen 3 though so it's slow compared to Gen 4 ......7000+mbs so if you can get the gen 4 get it. I do highly recommend these hard drives as the future very good and impressive and the amount of data you can store is major compared to its size and it goes straight into the motherboard without any wires. Very simple to install, plus Samsung hard drive software, but I do recommend getting a heatsink, which you just clip into and looks better, if you do not have one, there very cheap got nice one for £10.
