Samsung AX5500K Air Purifier with Wi-Fi

The only small complaint that I have about this unit is that it blows air out of the sides which can feel annoying if you are nearby. It also blows air out of the top which is no problem. We also have a Xiaomi air purifier in our place of business which only blows air out of the top - which circulates the room air efficiently (would have ordered another Xiaomi from PB Tech but not available). This Samsung unit does have a schedule program (via phone app) so that staff do not have to turn the unit on and off. All up I can recommend this air purifier - there are cheaper models but the air volume filtration ratings are not as good. Primarily we have our air filters to reduce the chance of Covid infection and other respiratory illnesses.

Ordered the Samsung Air Purifier to help with post-covid (long covid?) and hay-fever. It's improved my breathing and helped reduced hay-fever symptoms (puffy hay-fever eyes)of course occasionally I still get minor hay-fever symptoms but it's tackled a majority of them. A good product overall

This is our 2nd Samsung AX60. We were so pleased with our first purchase. The machine operates well, removing dust & smoke from air. Only complaint - this unit has noisier castors & the plastic of 1 is irregular near the axle. A little lubrication has mostly improved it, but one castor is not great noise wise. The sound of air passing over hepa & charcoal filter is louder on this unit, but still acceptable.

Awesome Air Purifier

I have a few other air purifiers and this one beats them by far. It is quite large, however, it fits in well in the home anywhere and wheels make it convenient to move. It is also not very heavy.I love the Wi-Fi on it and ability to add the app to your phone. I didn't think that I would use this feature at all, but have found it is really good.It shows you when the air quality is not good and I tested this by lighting a match and blowing it out and the air purifier detected the smoke and then cleared it.It has quite a few features such as sleep mode and auto. I find it simple to use and for me with small children the winning feature has to be that I can put a child lock on it.It is well worth the money to buy this one over the several smaller ones that I have.

Great Product with great features.

I bought this AX60 6 days ago, and I compared this with the AX90, which is the larger version of this, and researched between Samsung and Dyson air purifiers and other brands. I didn't choose the bigger one as it seems heavy and doesn't come with concealed wheels, and I didn't choose Dyson because it has negative comments. What I noticed after using the product is that the dust disappears, and the air is clean (obviously). I can feel the difference.Of course, if there is a cooking smell, you must ventilate the room and open the purifier in High mode. As it is the process of purifying indoor air, I suggest you close the air purifier for awhile while cooking and open it in a high mode. Once done for a couple of hours and it will remove the odor, but it requires air circulation. That is why ventilation is recommended.While in sleep mode, it is pretty quiet, and I barely notice the noise. It also has features such as child lock mode, lighting, timer and PM digit (which shows the amount of pollution). I like the design, and it just depends on people's mindsets. Because of SmartThings, is convenient for me. I can control with voice and setup automation which saves time and energy usage. Overall, I would recommend this product to people thinking or looking to buy an air purifier. Well, you cannot experience how clean the air is in writing, but you can feel that when you have one. Before buying the Samsung, I would never sleep through the night, always waking up with a blocked nose, so I'd get out of bed, go to the bathroom and by then my nasal cavity would unblock and I'd go back to sleep. Since the Samsung, all that's gone. The bedroom atmosphere is absolutely neutral, it's like standing on top of a mountain where the air is pure and charged with freshness. From day one, even my partner commented that she was sleeping better and she's a skeptic by nature. And when you walk out of the bedroom in the morning you immediately sense the change in the air to the rest of the house. The one thing I'm meticulous about is cleaning the hepa filter weekly. Then the layered hepa filter gets vacuumed on the outer (activated charcoal filter side) and on the inside (paper element) filter. I left it for a fortnight once and noticed the reduction in efficiency. I will replace the filter at the 12 month mark as recommended by Samsung. I can't speak for how this air purifier would work for you but for me, and that's why I say 'NO' to that most stupid marketing question "Would you recommend this product to your friend ". But for me, it really is a life changer.

User-friendly, portable, and effective!

Bought the AX60 during the 2022 "click frenzy" sale, and was not disappointed. The only thing I regret was not purchasing it earlier. Set-up was straightforward, the wheels make the air purifier highly portable (I can move it to different rooms as and when I need it), and most importantly, the air purifier works. As a long-time sufferer of hayfever, I found that I woke up with a less itchy nose most mornings when I turn on the air purifier. It's also relatively silent and compact, and sits well at the corner of a room or along the wall. The only downside is the filters are quite expensive, but they are worthwhile for cleaner air.

Haha..Anyway, great device! Samsung nailed it. Once we have saved a bit more, we will get the bigger unit or the living space in the house.

Worth the money

This purifier just works. Easy to assemble. Very effective and interesting to learn just how poor air quality can be. The app also connects easily and works well enabling you to control the unit when away from home. Only downside with the wifi connection is that when you unplug the unit you need to turn the wifi function on again on the unit. You do need to clean the pre filter every few weeks as it fills up with dust depending on your conditions. The main filter should last about 6 months through normal use. Do highly recommend this unit.

The air quality at the moment is *not good* and despite constantly cleaning our heat pump filters and staying on top of general tidying and dusting, the hay fever and allergen overload from the outdoors seeping into the house was making the whole family sick..Less than 24hrs after setting this unit up, the everyone is feeling much better, the house is much more pleasant and we’ll probably end up buying a second unit.It’s also nice that you can control it from your phone and the wheels make it handy to move around without risk of damage.
