There is an option for other 16:9 and full phone stretch sizes as well as 1:1 square photo. It can take a good telephoto as well as close up macro and works much better in the daylight. I give this budget phone 5 stars for its intended use.The ultramobile wireless is perfect for unlimited talk, text practically to everywhere plus the allocated data size. It receives 5G well in many place T-Mobile has 5G antenna. I like it because you pay for whatever data you need to use and not more than what you need and one has the option of choosing the plan data size for their budget. I want to give it 5 stars but there are two issues with ultramobile that don't let me do it: 1- it does not convert voice messages to text as its parent's company T-Mobile offers it on their monthly service plans; 2- Image and video attachments to the text messages takes a longtime to download even when one has the available data and drastically cuts the resolution. Because of it I give it 3 1/2 stars. The combined ratings of the phone and ultramobile is 4 stars.

A03s Vs. Galaxy S5...I'll take the S5

The camera has fewer megapixels, the screen, though bigger, has less resolution, the battery is not user replaceable (important if you plan to keep using a device for over a couple of years), and I can no longer use voice commands to control the camera. The only good thing that I can say that is an upgrade is the internal ROM memory is 32GB compared to only 16GB in my S5, and the S5 only supported a 128GB uSDXC memory and the A03s supports up to a 1TB uSDXC.Other that that, the A03s does make and receive calls, texting works fine and the camera is okay. But sure wish I could still use my Galaxy S5.

I also want to note that the built in Samsung accounts and products that are already installed on the device when you purchase it are extremely helpful and would be valuable to any user no matter what your main interests are. I almost forgot to mention the camera, which is more than memorable. It takes top notch pictures and inspires creativity. It makes creating and editing equally as fun and you find yourself trying new features with ease. TY☆

For a prepay, this is pretty darned good!
23 August 2022

First of all, bear in mind that I ALSO have a Samsung S22...and this actually compares QUITE favorably with that "more advanced" model.Activation was on par for a prepaid service- you do have to go through the phone setup (time consuming!), and you do have to figure out how the SIM goes in pretty much on your own. Since the SIM tray on this model ALSO supports adding a micro-SD, it took me a bit to work out which slot of the 3 in the tray (!!!) it went in, as well as how small to snap the SIM itself down to, to make the correct fit. Using a desktop to create the account was easy and fast. And it activated on the first try- there were zero problems with the process. And, given that the phone does work just fine on WiFi, I can see 10GB of data going a looooong way ... MoreFirst of all, bear in mind that I ALSO have a Samsung S22...and this actually compares QUITE favorably with that "more advanced" model.Activation was on par for a prepaid service- you do have to go through the phone setup (time consuming!), and you do have to figure out how the SIM goes in pretty much on your own. Using a desktop to create the account was easy and fast. And it activated on the first try- there were zero problems with the process. And, given that the phone does work just fine on WiFi, I can see 10GB of data going a looooong way on this plan. Now, the pros about the phone itself- I find 32GB to be ample storage for my needs, but if you don't, you CAN add a micro-SD for more storage. The rendering of images is nice and clear, and video plays smoothly, as do basic games. Messaging (both text/SMS and Messenger) work beautifully, and the camera is incredibly clear- I was actually very surprised at the quality, which is also on par with my other phone. The phone also has a couple of features that I quite like, that my other one does not have- unlike the S22, the A03s HAS A HEADPHONE JACK. Ever discover that every single pair of bluetooth headphones you own needs to be charged? Yeah, me too. Having a jack makes a big difference, when that happens. I am also pleased with the fingerprint reader, which is positioned in the perfect place- the SIDE of the phone, where it can be touched while you're picking up your phone! This makes opening the phone very fast and easy, and the touchpad is MUCH easier to activate than the big mid-screen ones (which don't read my fingerprints anyway, half of the time, because I tend to have dry hands.) Bluetooth pairing with a couple of different headphones was easy and immediate- it paired readily both with a pair of Ink'd ones, and an offbrand true-wireless pair, zero problems.Downsides: this thing is fussy about the charger, and immediately started "complaining" about slow charging, when I plugged it in. That's kind of amusing, because it didn't COME with a plug-block, just a C-to-C cord...and I don't even own a C-block anymore, because the S22 is wireless, and that has kinda made me lazy. Thankfully, I do still have a number of blocks, and some regular mini-USB cords, plus adapters from my old corded days, so we'll make that work. Another downer is the sound on this phone- it's definitely weak and tinny, as compared to some others I've had. However, using headphones helps immensely with that.Overall, this is a pretty good phone, with some features that might make it preferable to what I already have (and am in contract for, unfortunately), and it will work well for me. The plan- well, we'll see, but given that I work from home and travel little, it should work fine, because of the wifi. Since the plan is on the T-Mobile network (as is my other phone's plan), I don't forsee any major issues. If you're looking for a decent smartphone for a decent price, and a simple, easy-to-use prepaid plan, look no further. Two thumbs up!

Good starter phone but slow
14 March 2023

I have purchased this phone as for a backup for my kids for YouTube. This phone is labeled as good starter phone for teens with basic smartphone features which includes camera, music and social media. The speaker on this phone is great and its loud which is good for listening for music along with watching videos. However the performance is slow which is disappointing for YouTube apps including YouTube kids app. It lags a little when app is opened and videos being played. At this point in time performance is key for any smartphone in the market but as they say you pay for what you get because I spent between $70 to $80 for this phone. The lag in performance can discourage the user to opt out from getting this device and switch to a basic iPhone model which is better in performance vs this Samsung a03s. Samsung needs to correct the performance issues with this phone to restore consumer trust which can result in higher sales volume. Samsung is a well respected and recognized international brand when it comes to their electronics especially mobile phone market so these performance issues in devices can effect the reputation. Teens are considered to be heavy users which demands a device to perform to meet their expectations. Samsung needs to address the performance issues of this model or any other low end devices. If this issue gets addressed then this will benefit both Samsung and consumers which will be a win win situation. I hope thus review helps. Good luck

Overall a bit disappointing

The phone itself has a nice thin and sleek design, and comes with all the features one would expect from a smart phone at a very reasonable price. However there are somethings, that to me that simply do not make any sense. This may be the “new” standard for Android phones, but if that is the case it is the best way to push people back to iPhones. The phone does not come with a standard USB cable, like all previous Android phone, by that I mean the cable has two micro USB connections on both ends. There is zero information about this in the instructions by the way, but it is so one can use the new “fast Chargers”, of course, Samsung is too cheap to include the charger, you must buy it separately, also the phone will not charge on a wireless charger. I happened to have a micro USB to standard USB adapter and was able to charge the phone using the adapter. I was also very disappointed to find that one of my favorite features about Android phones no longer works, and that is the ability to plug into the USB port on my PC and have it recognize as a drive so I can transfer data back and forth. One of the main reasons I went from iPhone and IOS was of how cumbersome I found iTunes to be, but at least you can still use it on your PC or MAC. While I like the phone overall, in the end having to buy a separate charger and the lack of being able to interface with my computer, leaves me leaning toward going back to iPhone

First off I would like to say that I have been a huge fan and personal user of the Samsung Galaxy series smartphones and tablets for as long as I can remember. The Galaxy A03s is one of those devices that at first, since the price is very reasonable and affordable, you might think that it will be just another run of the mill basic smartphones mass produced and sold at a low enough price that anyone could afford to purchase the device. Well the price that this device is sold under is correct and true, very affordable and reasonably priced so anybody has the ability to purchase this device. However on the other hand, the price sure did fool me and it still has me in awe at how such an affordable device cab be so powerful and feature rich. We usually think of smartphone devices that are fast and powerful as the expensive ones. The A03s stands its ground as one device that cruises right along with any other devices on the market and even outworks other Galaxy devices that have come along after this one. My favorite aspect with the A03s is the fact that it has always got a data signal no matter where I am. The WiFi signal is just as good and very speedy. I have been able to run critical apps I need for college in places where my friends device diid not even have the power to make a phone call. The data signal is always full bars and never loses connection especially when needed the most. So to wrap up this review I highly recommend the A03s for a strong and speedy connection!

I thought it was only me but I have repeatedly reviewed the settings trying to see why I'm not getting any notifications of text nor vm and seldom email notices. I have to restart/turn off the phone everytime I disconnect from a secured wifi, it doesn't call forward. It's slower than my LG that I've had for over 5 years. This has been the most I've ever paid for a phone. I studied this phone for over a month before deciding to buy. I was excited to get it but became and still remain frustrated after only having the phone for 3 months, I don't know what to do. I only got it because of work. It's too late to return it. I'm considering a factory reset. I'm considering a factory reset. There is at least a 3sec delay after dialing the last number before the phone connects [which can seem life forever especially in emergencies]. Whenever you text, you have to delete the previous text message, so if I'm texting the same person a couple of minutes later than I originally texted then the previous message is still in the text box. I'm just speechless about the performance. I miss my LG and have considered going back to it. The only great things are the battery life, pictures, expanded sd capabilities, memory, updated features, and I didn't experience a lot of factory preinstalled apps and the ones I did, I was able to delete.I like the phone but it's difficult and frustrating to use and this is too much money to waste otherwise if it hadn't cost so much I would have just returned to my old phone. I'm still looking into trade in or sell it and if I can at least get half of what I paid, I'll most likely go back to my old phone. My flip phone I had in 2014 was quicker than this one. I'm constantly looking thru the settings to see if I'm missing something on how to operate the phone.

recommended this for my dad to use while I was fixing his S8. The photos and videos are grainy enough to be choked on like a dry granola bar, the depth camera has no idea what the hell it's doing in Bokeh and it needs to be on the surface of the Sun to pick up enough light to even function, it has 10x zoom for some obscene reason as absolutely fucking nothing can be seen that zoomed in, it is slower than a mole wading in an ocean of fucking molasses, the screen has a bright tinge around one of the sides, the selfie camera looks like a VGA camera, multitasking is impossible let alone "single-tasking", the phone fails to load before you can pick up a call of any kind and God would only hope that you're not trying to receive a messenger or Snapchat video call ... Morerecommended this for my dad to use while I was fixing his S8. For some obscene fucking reason it is promised to upgrade to Android 16 but right now it can barely even handle Android 12 and they're still trying to figure out how to get Android 13 on it. A much better phone at the same price point would definitely have to be the TCL 20 XE. AT LEAST THE CAMERA DOESN'T LOOK TOO MUCH LIKE DOGSHIT AND WHEN YOU PRESS THE POWER BUTTON THE PHONE WILL SHOW THE LOCK SCREEN INSTEAD OF TAKING A COUPLE OF SECONDS CAUSING YOU TO PRESS THE POWER BUTTON AGAIN BECAUSE YOU THINK IT HASN'T REGISTERED YET TURNING THE DAMN SCREEN BACK OFF AND ON OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL THE GOD-AWFUL FINGERPRINT READER CATCHES YOUR FINGERPRINT OR YOU CAN SOMEHOW GET TO THE UNLOCK SCREEN. FUCK KNOWS how awful one UI 5 is about to run on this thing in March because one UI 5 is making me upgrade FROM THE GALAXY A13 4G TO THE A14 5G. It's a heavy update, powerful software... And it runs relatively okay on the Galaxy A13 4G unless you're multitasking heavily, BUT THAT PHONE CAN LITERALLY MUSTER OUT AN EXTRA 100 GIGAFLOPS OF THEORETICAL FP32 PERFORMANCE AND IT IS HITCHING ON ANDROID 13 SO YOU CAN ALREADY CONSIDER YOUR BOTTOM-OF-THE-BARREL GALAXY A03 S TO BE COMPLETELY FUCKING UNUSABLE OUTSIDE OF BEING A COLLECTION OF MATERIALS THAT YOU CAN MELT DOWN WHEN YOU NEED THEM POST-UPDATE! If you're trying to go for this price point, pick up an old Galaxy A13 4G, that phone comes with a 50 megapixel sensor complete with phase-shift autofocus, a classy f1.8 aperture and megapixel binning for amazing low-light shots, a 5-megapixel ultra wide camera that has a narrow aperture I'll be it but it's still there, a depth sensor that admittedly still does not know what it's doing but at least it doesn't require the BRIGHTNESS OF A MAGNESIUM FUCKING FLAME to pick up light, there's the same exact 2-megapixel macro camera on this phone so you won't lose that and there is a front camera that is 12 megapixels but with Binning enabled it is 8 megapixel equivalent. If you're not going to spend enough money to get decent hardware, at least get the one that has a camera that is worth a damn... Like I did. Now if you can scrape up $200 or $170 you could most likely find a Galaxy A14 5g. you might have to wait a little bit for it, but it basically comes with the Galaxy A13 4G camera configuration minus the ultra wide sensor, but it is more than four times as powerful as the Galaxy A13 4G and more than three times as powerful as the A13 5G. With the Exynos 1330 the A14 can produce an impressive 600 or so gigaflops of theoretical fp32 performance so if you want a cheap Samsung experience without lag that is the phone you should buy. Technically it's more powerful than the Oculus quest! I wouldn't generally recommend the A13 or anything that's cheaper.

(1) if I receive a call phone starts vibrating fist BUT screen is blank it literally takes a while like 15 seconds to see option to accept call or reject the call on the screen .Have seen incoming phone calls going to the voicemail system directly before system is able to answer even though this is just single ring!!!Because the screen is unresponsive. It takes close to 50 secs for an app to open ….honestly feeling it’s a Way too slow to be called a smart phone. I still have-not inserted my old phone’s micro sd card yet since I purchased this phone!!!! & This is the situation without using any sd card and so you can imagine if I use the sd card phone doesnot work at all!!!(2) Comes with 3 gb ram BUT hardly installed one or two apps on this phone and phone is not ... More(1) if I receive a call phone starts vibrating fist BUT screen is blank it literally takes a while like 15 seconds to see option to accept call or reject the call on the screen .Have seen incoming phone calls going to the voicemail system directly before system is able to answer even though this is just single ring!!!Because the screen is unresponsive. Using Samsung cable with 25w usb –c adapter which I purchased from Samsung official store ( can send you a receipt and pic of it incase if you need it)You can see the same thing in attached linked videos one video(7) In the video named 30 may - you can see you tube is not responding and the screen is unresponsive and then screen get blank ( like complete black color) and then can hear the audioof you tube advertisement but the screen is still unresponsive and nothing appears on screen and stays black ( like black color)
