Comprehensive review for a great phone deal.

As a previous rater stated it is a pain to get this phone activated if you purchase online for pickup at the store. Be sure the phone has been scanned when you pick it up or Tracfone will not activate it. What I ended up having to do was return the phone in exchange for a gift card of the equal amount then use the gift card to repurchase the phone so they could scan it. Took me two trips to the store and two phone calls to Tracfone but eventually it was activated and all my carryover minutes and data from my old phone that bit the dust were transferred to the new phone. If it wouldn't have been for that hassle I would have given it a strong 5 stars. As for the phone itself it is a tremendous improvement from my 6 year old Samsung J3 Luna. If it wouldn't have been for that hassle I would have given it a strong 5 stars. As for the phone itself it is a tremendous improvement from my 6 year old Samsung J3 Luna. The speed is incredible and the quality of the display is fantastic. Of course I'm only comparing it to my old Samsung so I don't know how it would be compared to some of the other phones on the market but I'm very pleased with the features, speed and display. Also compared to my old phone the battery life is much better. Hardly seems to drain at all when you use it. Many people have complained that there is only a C to C charger cable included but no charger brick. I simply picked up a couple of cable adapters from Walmart for about $3.50@ and I can use my old USB chargers with the new phone. I put one adapter on the cable in my car and one on the charger in my house and they work fine. Easy-peesy. Now I'm waiting for a folding credit card/phone case and some screen protectors I ordered for the phone from Walmart. I had bought the identical case and protectors for my old phone on Amazon but the case from Walmart was less than half the price for the identical case with free shipping. The shipping on the protectors was also free. Oh, by the way, this is a new model Tracfone and was out of stock at Samsung but available at Walmart. The sales person told me they had just received them the day I ordered online so they will probably be out of stock shortly as if you are a Tracfone person this is an amazing deal for $120. The lowest price you will find at other retailers for the unlocked version is $200. Also, I should mention that when I booted up the phone and checked to see if all my old data, texts and minutes carried over it appears that there must have been a bunch of new data, minutes and texts included in the new phone deal I didn't see anything listed about that in the description of the phone in the ads. Plus that they added another year to my renewal date so I don't have to renew my annual contract until 2026. Don't know if it will be that way for everyone else but that's a fantastic deal on a great phone. Go online and check out some of the professional reviews of the phone. They all say it's one of the best $200 phones on the market and you can get the Tracfone version for $120 at Walmart!

I came to the Galaxy A14 5G from a Moto Edge 5G UW. One might think of this as being a downgrade, but I really don't think it has been. While no where near as powerful as the Edge, this phone hasn't given me any troubles in day to day usage. I can watch videos, browse the web, message, call... pretty mich do everything my old phone did. But the big reason I love this device so much is the battery. With less power to push, it easily lasts me an entire day of use and I am literally on my phone nearly all the time. This is even with the refresh rate set to 90hz. Oh yeah, it does that too. Everything looks nice and smooth on screen. In terms of cameras, this phone is leagues ahead of the supposed 100+ megapixel sensor that the Edge had. It takes better pictures on nearly all situations and I don't have to worry that my photos are going to come out horrible with it. Despite the 50 megapixel sensor, the photos this thing takes are top notch. It's super up to date with Android 13 currently, but with guaranteed Android updates all the way to Android 15, I feel confident that I'm not just going to end up having to get a new phone again in a year. Software and security are important, so this is a huge selling point for me.Sure, it's not a Galaxy S23 Ultra, but you're not paying that kind of money for it either. At $199 retail, I heartily recommend this phone to anyone who doesn't need the most blazing fast performance and just wants a phone that will last them through all they want to do.

Have always bought Samsung smart phones, usually 'S' flagships, but didn't want to shell out loads of cash this time, so opted instead for this A14 4g, which I've had c. 1 week. In summary, a great phone at a great price (£30 JL discount at time of purchase) which met all my needs & comes with Android 13. Great clear screen, great battery life (I can get 2 days from a full charge), plus it has the headphone jack which I wanted (not many phones do these days). Loads of settings which I'm slowly working my way through to get things the way I want. Junk apps/bloat just uninstall or hide them. Despite the description from JL stating this comes 'Samsung Pay Ready', that wasn't the case with the phone I received, & which I spoke to Samsung about. Despite reservations, I just started using Google Wallet which is probably better than Samsung Pay anyway. Re; the A14 generally, very happy with it, it does everything I want/need, so no problems in strongly recommending this phone to anyone who wants an up to date smart phone without the need to go paying silly 'flagship' money. Well done Samsung.

The Galaxy a13 4G was the last phone I had and my Galaxy S9 plus was on life support, basically. When the S9 flickered out, the other phone was so awful that it died when I was smacking it on a table trying to get it to work, because sometimes when you smacked it against the table it would unfreeze. I have no idea why. I finally saved up enough to buy the a14 5G, and it was very cheap. I wasn't expecting much from it, but it really amazed me. It had the same megapixel binning technology and PDAF found inside of the a13, but with a slightly wider aperture, so low light looks amazing, pictures are crispy and the 50 megapixel capture mode produces 9000 pixel tall images that blow my mind. My only complaint is the macro camera and depth camera are both equally parts ... MoreThe Galaxy a13 4G was the last phone I had and my Galaxy S9 plus was on life support, basically. It had the same megapixel binning technology and PDAF found inside of the a13, but with a slightly wider aperture, so low light looks amazing, pictures are crispy and the 50 megapixel capture mode produces 9000 pixel tall images that blow my mind. My only complaint is the macro camera and depth camera are both equally parts useless. Depth shots suffer with ill defined borders. If you hit the camera with too many details, the image will look smudged. It's still a very good camera, though. I would have liked to have an ultrawide camera instead of a macro camera, because the 50 megapixel main sensor gets a better image zoomed in than the macro camera could ever dream of getting. The front camera also lags at 1080p for some reason, that might be fixed further down the road with an update. The mediatek dimensity 700 is fast enough for most tasks and it doesn't lag about very often. It can handle multitasking all day and some gaming. The speech recognition is very good (I'm using it to type this right now) and the modem works very well. Straight talk is a decent service, though it's overpriced a little bit, it gets the job done. Their phones are cheaper. Another complaint I have is that straight talk will give you updates late, and they also locked out the test mode from the dialer (*%230%23*) where you test things. The phone has a beautiful bright 1080p 20:9 90Hz panel, but the borders are a little large. This phone somehow manages to be heavier than most flagships, even though it is made entirely out of plastic. I put a durable case on my A 14 5G, and it is a very thick thing. Because it is a Samsung Galaxy device, it is guaranteed to get updates for a while, including two major Android updates (at least) and security updates until 2027. I think most of these phones would be decayed plastic by then. I don't miss my S9 very much. While it was much more powerful than this phone, this phone is actually very good, and I put a SD card in it and it's my daily driver now. I have no desire to upgrade it. I use multi-window daily. I wish I didn't charge so slow, and since it has a Mediatek processor and that humongous beautiful and fast screen along with a earlier 5G modem, the battery life suffers immensely. But still, it's very good. For $100, I think you can't find anything better. That's literally impossible.

Often these phones DO NOT come with chargers even if their purchased at a phone store. Best to obtain a "Quick Charger" as these newer Batteries require the abuse that a few short years ago was sudden death to replaceable type. Two microphones are used. The one on the top is for decent speaker phone use. The other is for standard talk and interactive use. Software is run of the mill Android with its abilities and inabilities. 128 Gig is also available on this phone and for folks who use this device for work, it should be plenty. The Very nice camera has many newer features that are to involved here for finite review, but suffice it to say you'll be pleasantly surprised how many exciting options are available from thefactory. It is HIGHLY recommended that a tough case be purchased soon after as the large screen is edge to edge and could be an issue if one is rough with hand held units. All in all it is a fine phone and although overshadowed by the newest Samsung, it would be an asset to any business oriented person or perhaps someone who like large screens. As with most Samsung phones it seems durable and real go-geter.

Not happy

We bought this phone for one purpose only to have Wi-Fi calling because we live up north in a remote area where there is no cell reception. The sales rep. assured us that the phone is capable of Wi-Fi calling and he even said that it was enabled in the phone app. However, when we got home up north, we realized that the phone app does not nor indicates have W-Fi calling . We called our cell phone provider to see if our monthly plan includes Wi-Fi calling. They assured us that it should not have any effect and we should be able to use Wi-Fi calling as long as we have Wi-Fi connection. We spent three hours searching google and watching YouTube videos on how to activate Wi-Fi calling on this phone, but nothing worked. We spent three hours searching google and watching YouTube videos on how to activate Wi-Fi calling on this phone, but nothing worked. We called Best Buy's Geek Squad and they took us through a shorter path to check to see if the phone has Wi-Fi calling, and based on their assistance we realized that the phone does not have Wi-Fi calling. What is disappointing for us is that we spend a lot of money with buying protection, as well, to wanting to get a product that was suppose to serve our need. INSTEAD, we were sold a product that is basically useless for our need. I called the Manager, She told me that based on Google this product has Wi-Fi calling, and after 10 minutes on the phone with her I realize that the Geek Squad were more knowledgeable than her. After telling her that we purchased protection plan, she gave us 30 days to return the phone but with no guarantees whether any Best Buy will switch to another phone with Wi-Fi calling capabilities. We have to take a flight from our remote community to get to an urban setting with a Best Buy store being there. She didn't even care about that! She did not even know about the product's capabilities that her representative sold to us. The sales representative was not fully honest. She did care about that neither! This is not appreciated. NOT HAPPY!NOT a BEST BUY!

Simple, convenient, and spacious

I am a senior in highschool, active in many clubs and all. The phone is reliable to easily write my work, there's even a qr scanner button in the menu(it's great because we use qr codes to promote events). The camera quality is great, even suggests some options while taking photos. For example: I take pictures of papers to file online and when taking the picture; it shows a outline of the paper to show if you have it evenly displayed. When I had to transfer everything from my old phone to this current one, it was so simple to do everything within 25 minutes. Puts the same wallpaper and settings you had in your previous phone. The phone is light in your hand hence the size of the phone, feels a bit awkward but I personally had a smaller phone before, so ... MoreI am a senior in highschool, active in many clubs and all. Storage is great too(64 type). The only thing I have an issue with is just some apps you can't really delete because it comes in the phone. Although, the good thing is, is that it doesn'tdoesn't eat up your storage. I tend to not use those apps so I have no issue at the moment.Would recommend getting the phone, especially if it's work related. Also recommend getting a stylus pen if you would write digitally.

I bought this galaxy a14 5g 3 weeks ago, I know I'm behind in a more updated phone but compared with the super slow LG k40 I was still using for circumstances out of my control. This samsung galaxy has me surprised for what comes in it and the speed as well for a affordable price. What I did not like at all it's they dont included the home wall charger brick! They just gave me a small piece of usb c to c cable. So with what I had tried to charge it but it would take about 7 hours to charge ro 85% and it will last less than a day! Went back to the store; asked for the right wall charger for this phone they said " we only have this brand (never heard of it looks and performs very cheap it seems) the whole thing; cable and wall charger adapter for a ridiculous amount ... MoreI bought this galaxy a14 5g 3 weeks ago, I know I'm behind in a more updated phone but compared with the super slow LG k40 I was still using for circumstances out of my control. Did it made any damage to my battery? Will see in the following weeks. my case what other option I had right? Went home charged and it took 6 hours to reach 85% I wasn't happy at all to be honest. A couple days I was at the farmacy and see what they have for electronics so I tried one that had the right amps/ watts output rating, it was on special for 7 bucks, came home and it did charged my phone in about 4.5 hours to 100% charge and it seemed to last longer the phone charged still not what I expected from a new phone and technology improved since it supposedly is "super fast charge" capable!

This Samsung device has really set the bar high as far as everyday needs, wants, haves, and no have-nots. I wake up to the perfect alarm tone provided by Samsung, I use the timer when brushing my teeth, turn on the Samsung music app and get ready for the day. Samsung knows what to play and it's all I use. After I leave the house I Samsung Bluetooth connect to my car, get my Samsung news traffic report and away I go. At work my phone is my assistant, my right hand, and never let's me down with the 1000's of useful apps that can only be described as "a cut above the rest" Samsung widgets keep me on point and fast when certain subjects come up, others may have to open phone, open app, open page. Not with my Samsung, I glance at my phone and open to what I need right ... MoreThis Samsung device has really set the bar high as far as everyday needs, wants, haves, and no have-nots. Not with my Samsung, I glance at my phone and open to what I need right away. Need to adjust my volume levels individually, Samsung has me covered. Samsung makes it so user-friendly with the system they use and I wouldn't know what I would do without them. Every call is clear because of the speakers they use and I never hear anyone asking me to repeat myself because the microphone technology is superior and nothing else like it. From sun up to sun down my Samsung device will not let me down. The battery has to be the best batteries made for a phone, I'm on my phone all day and with the screen bright I still have battery life left. I don't even need to charge it everyday so the battery life and health is perfect.. PERFECT, that's my overall description of MY Samsung device. Thank you

no 6gb of ram but overall the phone is 7/10

Still using the phone but wanted to give my first impressions.I was debating between this phone or the moto g stylus 4g. I only chose this phone due to two factors. The website said it had 6gb of RAM, and I'm able to turn developer mode on and force my apps to the SD card for more internal storage on the device.I bought this for $106.87 after tax, pulled it out of the box and booted it up and got it set up.The camera quality is not the best, even after device update. I feel like I'm using an A03s camera model. Both selfie and other cameras are a little grainy, it's not bad but definitely not the best for $100.Storage is definitely nice, it has 64gb I'm used to having 128, will be buying a 128gb micro sd card for this. Now I bought this phone because the ... MoreStill using the phone but wanted to give my first impressions.I was debating between this phone or the moto g stylus 4g. Felt like I got cheated since the moto g stylus has the same specs and better camera quality, the only difference is this phone has a slightly better processor for multitasking and games. (I run Dawnlands, Pokemon Go, LEGO SWTCS, and Minecraft.) - I have not tested the games just yet. Will be updating.Sound quality is surprisingly good with only one speaker, but it does offer a 3mm headphone jax so that's nice for me.The build of the phone is bulky, I was not expecting to pull out a brick, this isn't a negative feature as I have bigger hands so it feels more comfortable and I actually feel like I'll be able to have a firm grip, the only thing I do not like is the back panel is a slick design but the material that was used (Aluminum an plastic mixture) makes the oils in my hands come out so I'd recommend getting a cheap silicone case along with your purchase. The best small feature I love about this phone so far is that the cameras do not stick out a whole lot almost flush with the back panel, and the volume and power button are nice an flush with the edges. The fingerprint reader is built into the power/lock button and is very responsive! It does offer face unlock but I don't use those. I prefer good old screen pin and fingerprint. So far aside from being dissapointed about the ram, I do like the phone and can't wait to see what else it has in store.Out of the box the battery was 45% and after getting all my apps installed, updated, getting the phone set up for my personal use, the battery went down to 39% so I have high expectations for the battery on this device as set up is the most energy consuming for any new phone user.
