I've worn it nonstop since purchase and only taken it off to charge. I wash my hands in it and shower, not a problem to report. Samsung did it AGAIN! Loyal customer for many more years to come..

This system works well and I've only had to charge it once outside this for about an hour. The app leaves a little to be desired. The ring does not know when you fall asleep-- it knows when you get in bed. I bought it mainly to track my sleep but I read in bed every night for about an hour before falling asleep. So if you are doing some high intensity short workout, it can sometimes completely miss that.I was also interested in it for the cycle tracking. I've only had it for about a month, but so far I'm not impressed. It says it uses your temperature to predict ovulation, but it definitely is just counting days. The temperature data is all over the place and I can't see any pattern to it to indicate different phases. Maybe this will level out over a few months, but so far this feature doesn't offer anything I could easily track myself.I know this sounded a bit negative, but I am happy with the ring and hopeful that Samsung will make updates to the app software in the future!

Great, but could be better.

It claims my blood oxygen drops below 85% at night, which can't be true unless I am dying in my sleep (I am not). The step tracking is also very sensitive, which causes anywhere from a few hundred to a couple thousand false steps. The heart rate sensor seems to work as it should, the stress tracking is pretty accurate, and the skin temperature sensor also seems accurate.Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase, even with the inaccuracies in the tracking. If you use this with a Galaxy Watch, it'll probably report more accurate metrics. On its own, though, it's still great for a first-gen product.

It's ok. Don't expect much.

I ordered the Galaxy Ring, hoping it'd be a good replacement for monitoring my health instead of wearing a watch. However, Samsung botched the release by not having enough supply - on top of the ring sizes being incredibly inaccurate. I'm not a big person, and I have fairly normal size guy hands. The size 13 barely fits my ring finger, I have to wet it to get it to slide on fully. I'm more comfortable after a few weeks of wearing it, but it's still a huge hassle. A size 14 would've been perfect. And now I'm stuck with this size for a year or two until the next batch of rings come out.I'm also seeing huge differences between my ring and watch. While wearing the watch, you can't get your heart rate using the ring, indicating they don't actually "work" together. At this point, I'm not sure if either are accurate. As far as the quality of the device, there are already paint chips on the ring. I work from home and haven't really done anything to cause it to chip, but here we are.The battery lasts long, I usually charge it every 5 days which isn't too bad.Overall, I'm not impressed with the ring. If it fit on my finger better, I'd be much happier. Hopefully the next version of this Ring offers better sizes, more availability, and better sensors. For the cost of the product from a company like Samsung, I expected a much better quality product. I'll keep it and when the "Galaxy Ring 2" comes out, I may or may not upgrade.

Nice device but not perfect!

Bought this ring on release day back on July 10th. The ring did not deliver until August 20th and after having it for only two weeks I went in to check my progress on the rings tracking and such and I noticed the ring was no longer paired to my phone. The ring had stopped working a few days earlier and I had no idea. When purchasing the ring I did not add the insurance but not knowing how fragile the ring seemingly is, in hindsight, I would have purchased the insurance.I sent ring in for repair and got it back in less than a week with no explanation what went wrong and no charge for the repair. I had been extremely careful with the ring for the entire two weeks that I had it so I am not sure what had broken and I am no longer able to add Samsung care to the device. ... MoreBought this ring on release day back on July 10th. I had been extremely careful with the ring for the entire two weeks that I had it so I am not sure what had broken and I am no longer able to add Samsung care to the device. That piece is most concerning to me.As far as quality, the ring is ok. The pictures online make it look shiny and durable however, the ring itself looks like chunky plastic. It is easy to wear and lightweight. It does, however, scratch quite easily.I have a Samsung smartphone and also the Galaxy Watch Ultra, and having both of those I really only find myself benefitting from the sleep tracking on the ring as I don't wear the watch to bed. All other benefits on the ring seem to already be on the watch. The ring does have interesting metrics for sleep activity and such but I have not noticed any real benefit outside of that.If you do not have a watch for tracking things during the day, you may get a little more benefit out of the ring. Wearing the watch to bed for sleep tracking and such can be a bit of a pain because of how often that device needs to be charged. The ring needs charging less often so is a better designMy conclusion is this: The ring is a nice complement to the Galaxy ecosystem. It seems to be slightly overpriced for its actual added value. It does not seem sturdy so I would not skip the insurance. (Seeing as this is Samsung's first go at a ring, I think that people should have been given a few days to decide whether to add insurance or not after receiving the device as many people did not even see the ring until it delivered to them in the mail.) Lastly, battery life is ok. My ring is a size 9 and I can get 4-5 days battery life without charging. Apparently the larger rings have larger batteries.

Questions that needs to be answered and solved.

I just want to say that the smart ring is a great device for people who want to live a healthy lifestyle and have a wearable that's super comfortable with a long battery life. But my issue is with the limited workout options. It's not designed for workouts, but the only options we've seen from the live event and other tech content creators are the two auto-workout options: running and walking. It's fine if those are the only automatic workout options, but there should also be manual options (if it can't recognize other types automatically) for other types of workouts instead of just having two options. The hardware that the watch currently has is capable of supporting other workout types. So I hope they make an update before making it available to everyone. And one quick question: How does the case for the ring only charge it one and a half more times? If it's 360mAh and the average ring battery size is around 18mAh, 360 ÷ 18 = 20 recharges. They should also make the pinch gesture available not only for the new Fold, Flip, and S24 lineup but also for other apps like music or video, etc. One pinch for pause, two pinches for the next track, and three pinches to go back. I hope they make changes and listen to the reviews so they can improve things using their current hardware.

Update: I'm [not] so disappointed [anymore]

Update: After more than a week now and switching the ting to my none dominant hand. The accelerometer issue with count all of my hand movements for work per day as steps has resolved. Ibwish id been alerted when i was using the sizing kit that not only is the index finger optimal, but non dominant hand is the best choice. Oh well,I'm not spicy about it at all.I only have it listed as a 4 (4.5 isn't an option) star because I still wish it took constant spo2 readings throughout the day the same as bpm readings. And there are a few other Health app functions I'd like to see modifed. But that really is more about the app, AI, and how they interface with the ring. (Samsung im open to sharing app interface ideas, you have my e-mail). Otherwise, I'm completely over joyed ... MoreUpdate: After more than a week now and switching the ting to my none dominant hand. Otherwise, I'm completely over joyed with having jumped on pre ordering the ring the first moment it loaded in my Samsung app.(Original post): I love having a ring as a health and activity monitor that's great. Blood oxygen is the bomb... when you sleep, however you can't get it to measure when you're awake or on demand. I was hoping to be able to track it throughout the day too but it's only on the watch. But hey, the accelerometer works... too well. It way over counts, every tiny movement I make with my hands counts as steps. I do a lot of typing, weaving, knitting and I get credit for steps with every stitch, thousands a day when I've spent most of it on my butt. Which makes it useless to me for tracking my health or fitness with such horrible step inaccuracies. I'm so disappointed 😞

[Rewarded Review] Disappointed did not track as well as cheap brands
16 August 2024

I was so excited when the new Galaxy ring was released and ordered one right away. It was beautiful in person and appeared to be constructed from high-quality materials. I purchased the correct size after ordering and using the sample sized rings. When I went to set up the ring with Samsung Health and my new Galaxy Fold 6, I found out that I could only track my data on Android phones and could not use an app for IOS devices. I was disappointed at first, but to be fair, each brand tried to limit compatability with their own ecosystem, so I did not mind. The main issue that was the deal breaker was that I received a cheap smart ring on Amazon that used the Qring app for Android and IOS both and tracked all of my data immediately and in great detail but the Samsung ... MoreI was so excited when the new Galaxy ring was released and ordered one right away. The main issue that was the deal breaker was that I received a cheap smart ring on Amazon that used the Qring app for Android and IOS both and tracked all of my data immediately and in great detail but the Samsung Ring device app and Samsung Health app had limited data or none. I was shocked and extremely disappointed because I have been a loyal Samsung customer for decades and purchased a variety of tech devices along with appliances, laptops, monitors, and televisions. I know this is the first attempt by Samsung, but it's not good enough. I returned my ring without any hesitation but was frustrated with all the wasted time spent on the purchase and programming, trouble shooting, and then giving up on it. I share my unbiased review to alert others before they make a purchase they might regret. Congratulations to all the buyers who are completely satisfied with the product.

[Rewarded Review] Great battery life

I purchased the Galaxy Ring during pre-order. The ring was delayed a couple of weeks because I had to get the sizing kit first to figure out which size to get. I strongly urge to do that first or try it in person before ordering one. I ended up getting size 9 for my ring finger and it was the exact same size as the sizing ring.I ordered the silver ring because I thought it would be a shiny silver. In reality it is a matte silver color. I was a little disappointed at first, but honestly it's not too bad. The ring is light and a little thicker than a standard ring. You hardly notice the ring, but if you point out all your fingers and press them together (opposite of spreading your fingers out), or make a fist, you definitely feel the ring more than compared to a ... MoreI purchased the Galaxy Ring during pre-order. There isn't anything obvious like with the Galaxy AI with my Fold 6, but I imagine it is stuff that tries to create the wellness score or combining the finess tracking.I've had the ring for almost 2 full weeks. The first weekend I ended up charging to full because I wanted to see if it would last a full week without having to recharge it, which it did. I probably could have gone a couple more days but I figured I would just charge every Sunday as a routine. The size 9 does have a smaller battery than size 13 obviously, but I wear both the ring and my Watch4 Classic at night. This makes it so they work in tandem saving battery.

[Rewarded Review] Great functionality, mediocre fit

I use my Galaxy Ring as a replacement for my smart watch. As a person who loves mechanical watches, I had a hard time adapting to the smart watch phenomenon. I own one, appreciated the health data it collected and correlated, but did not enjoy wearing it. However, now I can enjoy the best of both worlds with the new Galaxy Ring. I use the ring to collect health data and help me maintain and improve my journey towards a healthy lifestyle while being able to enjoy my watch wearing/collecting hobby once again. The ring does a wonderful job of collecting health info and sharing it with other apps that I use to help me along my journey. I wish Samsung offered more sizing options than they do currently. I have large hands and fingers and can only fit this ring on my pinky finger. It would be nice if they offered some way to personalize the ring a little bit so that you could truly make it part of your fashion. Some limited or programable NFC functionality would have been nice. I also hope to see some future integration of Galaxy AI in the device as well.On the whole, I am happy with my purchase and look forward to future interactions of the Ring as the technology progresses and improves.
