Battery seems healthy and with the options available you can set it to smart save the battery usage when needed. Fairly thin phone and while it has the tall screen design fits well into my big hands. The fingerprint reader is a hit or miss. Learned that registering your finger of choice twice will improve its ability to scan, especially with the screen off (assuming you find, or memorize, the region where to place your finger while the screen is off). It's lightweight, the camera quality is amazing; the battery lasts forever and charges very quickly on a fast charger; the fingerprint scanner never fails unless my fingers are wet. I love the high pixel quality and the fact that it can take an SD card. I want to ride this out for as long as possible.

The s20+ was definitely an upgrade from s9+ with many features. I love the moon zoom camera feature. That was a big feature to have. Only keeping the phone steady long enough to take the picture. Maybe if it had a lock on feature. I also love the super fast charging of the battery. It takes a short time to get a full charge. It's really helpful when you need a fully charged phone quick to make sure the phone is ready for anything you need in the moment. I think a neat feature could go along way if there was two batteries that have the same power but smaller to fit both. And they both would be on and running but once the first battery gets juiced the second one takes power. And as you charge the dead battery. Your running off the full battery. Making a more efficient phone charge. The interface could be more professional and playful. Like less steps to get to what your wanting the phone to do like instead of holding down the icon in the notification panel and it takes you to wifi "EX" a small drop down tab could slide down pushing notifications down to access the wifi list. And ect. Other icons. More ways to make the phone yours not look like another Samsung phone. Not just themes but away to customize the look of the phone. I love dark mode it does seem to help the battery. I think if the option to choose more colors like a dark blue or purple. More ways to change the feel of the device keeps the experience more live. As I mentioned before the s20+ was an upgrade from my previous phone and I think bringing new updates that brings the phone new features keeps that upgrade feeling. Even for the user to lock features they want to keep. Allowing the user to have more control over the phone. Over all a great phone and love the new features. And hope to see more greatness happening with samsung smartphones.

I was looking for a nice flagship Samsung phone for a while but was not willing to commit to a long term contract or pay over a thousand bucks. I wanted an unlocked version. Well, it pays to browse and shop around. I found this S20+ refurbished for a very good price and decided to give it a shot. The phone was shipped to me in fantastic condition with the power cable and charger in a very nice box. The entire device was completely scratch free. The cloud blue colour is absolutely gorgeous. The display was pristine. It started up right away and I was able to transfer all my data and apps over from my older Galaxy A71 with no issues, One problem I ran across was that Canadian Gadget shipped me a Japanese phone with their proprietary UI installed. This was weird. How did the seller even get a Japanese phone in Canada? No matter. I disabled the Au interface immediately and everything ran without a glitch. The cameras are top notch even in low light and the 30X zoom is amazing. Having a phone with a 120 Hz refresh rate DOES make a difference. It's very, very nice and incredibly smooth. The phone updated to Android 12 and the latest security updates which is great. It should be solid for a good long while. The only other problem is that the phone can't connect here to Bell's 3G or 4G network. This isn't a problem with the phone or the SIM card (which I replaced), it's Bell. Once I'm closer to downtown the phone connects immediately (might switch to a different carrier). Minor issue as I have a landline anyway at home and use WIFI for text messages, downloads, streaming and whatnot. Finally: battery. With 120Hz enabled the battery drains quickly. I'm still getting all day usage no problem. Battery health is at 83% which is perfectly fine for a 3 year old device. I'll probably replace the battery in a year or so anyway as I plan on keeping this phone because it is awesome. Caveat: check your carrier's network before buying ANY phone. Shipping was prompt. Dinged one star for shipping me a Japanese phone.

Disappointed, next time I'll get an iPhone
19 February 2021

I bought this phone because it has flagship specs and--with the release of the S21--it was cheaper than even higher-end mid-rangers (read, Pixel 5). It's a sleek and beautiful looking phone. I love that it's thicker than phones used to be and doesn't require a case to add bulk for it to be more comfortable to hold when I'm using it. And the battery life is phenomenal. Overall, I'm sure all the specs are great and I love the high-end screen (that's mostly why I wanted it), but it's a bit long in my opinion. It's good for fitting more icons per home screen, but it can be a little problematic when playing games. So far I've only played this one trucking game I love, but I definitely find it harder to handle on this phone than on my S6 Edge because the screen is so much ... MoreI bought this phone because it has flagship specs and--with the release of the S21--it was cheaper than even higher-end mid-rangers (read, Pixel 5). And the battery life is phenomenal. Overall, I'm sure all the specs are great and I love the high-end screen (that's mostly why I wanted it), but it's a bit long in my opinion. It's good for fitting more icons per home screen, but it can be a little problematic when playing games. So far I've only played this one trucking game I love, but I definitely find it harder to handle on this phone than on my S6 Edge because the screen is so much longer and has no bezels to rest my fingers on. As far as streaming goes, if the phone's too wide for the picture you just get black bars on the sides, which defeats the purpose of the larger screen. Frankly, I'd much prefer a shorter (and slightly wider) phone. But, my biggest complaint about this phone is the lack of control I have over how the proprietary software works. Between Verizon and Samsung, the phone is full of bloatware, and deleting these apps or removing their permissions is not allowed. Forexample, Bixby has been granted permission to use location, storage, camera, contacts, microphone and phone without any option for me to deny these permissions or remove Bixby altogether, even if I don't use it. It just says, "Device requires this permission to operate" for every one, which is a cop-out BS excuse by any measure, since literally every other non-Samsung Android phone can work without Bixby or its permissions. Likewise, I use my phone on Tracfone and I periodically get a notification that the SIM card is not a Verizon SIM card. Going into this notification's settings, the option to turn it off is greyed-out, so I am sentenced to dismissing this BS reminder every couple days for however many years I have this phone. And Google has this annoying requirement that if you use what they term a "secondary tier authentication modality" (i.e. the fingerprint reader), every 72 hours you will have to enter your password or passcode ("primary tier authentication modality") in order to unlock the phone, whether you want to or not, with no way to change or remove this requirement except for going with no security at all. They say it's for "additional security", but that's a BS excuse, too. Now, there is no doubt that I paid good money for this phone and I OWN it outright. As the owner of the hardware, I should have the ultimate say in how that hardware is used--not Google, not Samsung, not Verizon. Greyed-out permission toggles should never be allowed or tolerated. I have purposely avoided upgrading to a new phone for the last few years precisely because I didn't want to have to deal with this type of encroachment on my property rights and autonomy by Big Tech. The S20 may be an eye-dazzling powerhouse, but it's self-defeating shortcomings and outright disrespect of my personal space is a deal-breaker. I loved my S6 Edge, but with the changes Google has made to Android in the past few years and Samsung's insistence on polluting my phone with bloatware, this phone has single-handedly ruined Samsung and Android for me, and I will never again buy another Samsung phone. Maybe the Android experience is more amenable from a "less-bloated" manufacturer or on the pure-Android of a Google Pixel, but between Samsung and Verizon's hijacking my permission controls and Google's "Big Brother" approach to security, I think I'll dump this phone and get an iPhone...and I hate Apple.

Great product, but should have gone with S20 plus
30 November 2022

At this point, any Samsung S20 is a good value. I got the S20 Ultra and I must say I did not expect this phone to be this big and heavy. On retrospect, I probably should have gone with the S20 Plus, which goes for less money but offers pretty much everything this phone has without the extra weight and size; the main difference between the two, I think, it's the zoom camera in the Ultra, which I probably won't use as much. I'm still happy with the purchase and this is a great phone, even two years after it's release but at less than half it's original cost. Very sturdy, fast and with good storage (and the possibility to add much more with a micro SD card). Although not as fresh a battery as a new 2022 model, the battery on my phone still hold up the whole day.

The Hidden Gem of Smart Phones Money Can Buy!!!
9 December 2022

I picked up this device about two years ago coming from a Galaxy S8 Plus and I was completely blown away! This phone is one of the best phones Samsung has ever made! The first thing I had to test out when I first got the phone was the 120hz refresh and man is it a night and day difference with the smoother experience it makes just navigating and scrolling through apps! If you've never used a 120hz screen before you'll never want to turn it off after experiencing it on the phone! If you enjoy watching content and love those bright vibrant colors then you will love this phone. It boasts a 6.7 Amoled screen which is plenty huge for a mobile display and on top of that having one of the best displays on the market, what more can you ask for!? Even though this phone ... MoreI picked up this device about two years ago coming from a Galaxy S8 Plus and I was completely blown away! Even though this phone launched in 2020 its big battery and still, plenty powerful processor are still capable of handling everything you throw at including heavy or light gaming, surfing the web, consuming media, and much more. While the camera isn't the best anymore as it is 2022 the shots and videos that this phone can take are still astonishing! Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed with this phone's camera performance! Last but not least this phone is the last Series S phone to still have a micro sd card which is a nice feature to still have as most phones now are moving away from including this

They described it as "Excellent"...and it is!

Galaxy S20 plus. It's a pretty awesome phone and the camera is amazing. There are tons of videos online for setting up and using the phone. I needed a sturdy phone with a really good camera but couldn't afford a new flagship phone, so refurbished is a viable alternative. The phone I received was described as excellent and it really is like brand new. No scratches, dings, or flaws anywhere on the phone. Normal Samsung and Google bloatware. Some of it you can remove if you want to. The Aura Blue is very beautiful. Since the phone is glass front and back it is pretty slippery so you will probably want a case on it. I'm still learning how to use the various cameras as the phone is capable of producing incredible photography and video. Overall I think I made the right ... MoreGalaxy S20 plus. great wee phone

Love it, am really happy with it. The battery lasts the full day, even with the copious amount of gaming and phone catch up I've been doing. Only a couple of faint surface marks, just as stated could be. They aren't noticeable unless really search for them. It's amazing clicking on the camera & it opens straight away, The camera is also great. It's super light, and even though I have small hands, it's not too wide to be uncomfortable. I've been making do with a constantly draining, overheating phone with a faulty camera for over 4 years. I am more than please with this new phone of mine.
