I love this phone. I have had 2 and both served me well. I don't see a lot of people pointing out the slide out QWERTY keyboard is unmatched by any other similar model in that it has an additional row of keys allowing for the numbers to not share the top row of letters. (Allowing more characters as alt symbols too) I use this phone with SSH as a remote terminal to this day (Oct. 2023) and because of the slide out keyboard allowing for a full screen portrait oriented display it's easy to get a full 80x24 (or more) terminal window. Works well with the TN3270 app as well. Keyboard includes Alt key, Tab key, Left & Right shifts, arrows... it's almost a full PC keyboard. This phone might be over 10 years old but in my opinion it's never been beat. WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC ... MoreI love this phone. I have had 2 and both served me well. Chrome still runs on it so anything you can't get an app for you can usually just use the mobile website. I never have loved a phone as I have loved Galaxy S4 Relay.

On sale for $650 CAN this phone is an amazing deal. Coming from my old, slow as molasses Galaxy A51 this thing is a dream. Great cameras, great battery life (I've been getting around 6 hours of screen on time), great OLED display with 120Hz! GREAT performance. The fast processor and fast display make flipping around on this phone super responsive. No holdups or lag for anything. I don't mind the larger bezels from an aesthetic perspective, but my only downside would be the weight, bulk and thickness of the phone. I do think it has a premium look and feel in spite of this, though. Also, the vibration motor has a nice feel to it but is quite weak, often too weak to feel in my pocket. This was a problem on my last budget Samsung phone, so I'm disappointed to see it ... MoreOn sale for $650 CAN this phone is an amazing deal. With Samsung's promised 4 years of updates and 5 years of security updates, it's an easy recommendation from me in spite of its flaws. It's good in all the ways that matter.

First off, let me just say I'm extremely grateful to have a working phone and a new one at that! Verizon was super helpful with replacing my broken phone. And there was a deal going on, so it was only an extra $5 per month for my new phone! Yay! Verizon customer service is 10/10.As far as functionality of the Samsung S23 FE, some positive things are: 1) The screen sensitivity and response time when clicking the screen are immaculate. 2) I love the color. I got the Mint one. It's super cute! The down sides that make it 3 stars to me however, are the fact that: 1) The phone heats up quickly after watching a video or downloading something for more than 20 minutes. (Which my old phone, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, did NOT do.) If I don't watch anything, and only text or use ... (Which my old phone, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, did NOT do.) If I don't watch anything, and only text or use google, after 30-40 minutes it gets hot as well. And 2) the picture quality is TERRIBLE! The photos look EXTREMELY grainy. So much so, that when I use apps like Snapchat, the app tries to fix the photo with an automatic smoothing effect that ends up just making the entire thing super blurry! So it's either you get a really grainy photo, or a super blurry one. :/And the reason these two issues make it a 3 star phone for me is because I film and edit videos. So picture quality and phone temperature regulation are super important for me.Other than that, the phone is nice and does everything it's supposed to. And once again, I am VERY VERY grateful for my new phone though.

Compared to my S9, the 21 just does not feel like a premium product.I'm also very unhappy that there's no headphone jack, I'm a musician so I have good wired headphones - I'm not going to buy inferior Bluetooth replacements. I also use the jack to connect to my wired kitchen system when cooking, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen so this is a problem, again I'm not about to buy a Bluetooth dongle just for this system.I'm not happy with the fingerprint sensor, even though I'm used to the position it fails to read my finger too often, especially when cold and since I work outside and my phone is linked to my payment device, it's a problem - the dedicated sensor on the back of the S9 was much better and could be accessed with one hand while picking the phone up. ... Don't walk away with the impression that I'm some kind of dinosaur, I do have a half decent Bluetooth speaker that I used when out of the house - I'd just like to have the functionality of the S9 and why shouldn't I?The camera has a blue cast, I shouldn't have to choose pro just to get a decent colour balance, and while I'm at it - why can't I change the aperture? If Samsung are determined not to provide these functions for future products, then I'll look elsewhere for my next device. This is obviously not your flagship model, what should I have bought instead?
I use my S23 FE for watching podcast, sharing podcast to social media, playing games, taking pictures, videos and most recently I was able to share a video that was downloaded and saved with a format from a DVR system facebook would not even take. It blew my mind to see how much clearer the video showed up recording it with the S23 FE than it did from original video on my 70 inch visio, which is also what I used to record it with the S23 FE.The speed of this phone is lightning fast no matter what I am doing with it, from downloading apps , gaming or sharing video's all happen without any delay or glitches.Using the camera is a whole new world in my opinion, especially the ability to put still shots into motion. The zoom ability and functions are so incredible to me already and I have just scratched the surface of using them. When I show my friends everything I can do with the camera they can not stop checking it out and when I tell them, that is just what I know how to do and show them all the functions their jaws drop.Bixby call answering I just started using but I can tell you that so far so good and unknown callers and scammers hang up pretty fast. The screen display is at the top of the line if you ask me and the automatic dim and brightening function works perfectly with everything I have seen it work with. Playing games is flawless and is like playing on a console if not better.I was sad I could not get the S23 Ultra, until my S23 FE arrived. Not one complaint.
I bought the S23 FE about a month ago around 10 years after using another brand and I'm happy with the performance. It honestly makes me feel like I'm actually in 2023!. It's faster than all the devices I was used to! The image is clean and the design makes me feel like I'm holding a premium phone. However, there are two main things that could improve it:- Facial recognition: Although I tried setting alternative angles of my face, it still fails to recognise me 80% of the time (No, I'm not exaggerating).- Camera focus: It was disappointing not being able to keep the focus while recording and zooming, even after locking it. I love recording animals but it's difficult to capture them if the image gets blurry when I zoom it.Not too bad... especially considering ... Very good phone. Upgraded from S10 but could not afford anything from the normal S23 range. Easy to migrate data. In fact, it looks exactly the same as my old phone in operation. Obviously in the three years since I bought the S10, there have been a lot of improvements that aren't necessarily visible to the average user. I'm not a great photographer but I can see that it has a great camera. The graphics are good and it operates quite fast enough for me either on wifi or 5G. So far battery life has been good and I went and bought a 25W Samsung charger to take advantage of the fast charging ability. I also took advantage of the introductory offer and got a 10maH Samsung power bank and four smart tags for free. All will be useful. It's not a fault but it is slightly ... MoreVery good phone. It's not a fault but it is slightly bigger and heavier than my old phone so doesn't sit in the shirt pocket quite as comfortably but that's no real problem. I recommend getting a protective cover. I use a wallet type for good protection. In summary, with similar features to the flagship S23 at several hundred dollars cheaper, it's a bit of a no-brainer for Samsung fans who don't really need or want the real high-end technology. I also switched to a JB Hifi mobile plan at the same time which gives me more data and bill that is 10 bucks a month less than what I was paying with Telstra.
The performance should have been a lot better than what I have got. The UI seems to lag quite frequently especially when you first start up the phone and I don't just been when you wake it up after shutting it down. I mean waking it from standby. Exiting apps is extremely and concerningly choppy at times but most of the time, the UI does remain smooth. It drops to 60hz more than I would like so performance is very underwhelming. The battery life has been nothing special but good enough that I can kill it in a day but most of the time, it will last about 4-5 hours of screen on time. The cameras have been extremely good for me (including video) but I would have preferred a slightly better night mode quality but it is better than what you pay for. One UI is nicely ... One UI is nicely layed out and I like it. The display is excellent although the talk aspect ratio does bug me when watching 16:9 videos. Overall, it is a great phone which has been bottlenecked by a lacklustre chip or whatever is causing this lag that I see way more often than I should.

(Getting used to it after a few days). Bluetooth pairing and connectivity is instantaneous even with older gadgets which is a bonus.Battery charging has 2 functions - standard charge to 100% or limit charge to 85% (Samsung's recommendation to prolong the battery life over its lifecycle). 85% lasted nearly whole day for light usage when combined with other functions - low brightness, dark mode, switch off the always-on function.Noting that only 256GB has a newer storage system, if the phone can be a little bit thinner and lighter that will be a great FE phone.
I mostly use my phone for social media and taking pictures. I rarely use my laptop anymore. I can do pretty much everything with my phone. I love taking pictures and this phone is good for everything from closeups to scenic views like the Sun going down or capturing wildlife pics. There are more than enough options with this camera to take pro pics, panoramic or great videos. I do wish the Zoom option was a little better. I use to work for the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council as a prevention Educator and this phone was great for group Zoom calls or Google Classroom during the pandemic. I've also got many lesson plans and important files saved which is a great feature for on the go. Downloading Apps is very easy and they've all worked flawlessly. The phone is big ... The phone is big enough to have multiple people on a Zoom call and easily see the other people's faces but not too big to fit in my pocket. I've dropped this phone multiple times a d never had the screen Crack so the durability is great. I've enjoyed having this phone and would only upgrade if I could get all the same features with better Camera Zoom capabilities.
