Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017) 8.0 Wifi + 4G 16GB - Black

I didn't realize my OEM charging cable that I plugged the tablet in overnight went bad, and while I was asleep, the tablet completely discharged itself without shutting itself down for safety before then. I bought a new OEM cable, plugged the tablet into 2 OEM wall chargers with that cable for over 8 hours each, and the tablet still won't boot up no matter what home+volume up or down+power button combination or length of time up to 2 minutes, I try.At the time of purchase, I wasn't aware that the tablet had no safety shutdown & would brick itself, and according to many, will need to be reset by disconnecting the battery & reconnecting it at an expensive repair service. This purchase was an expensive mistake, and apparent tactic by Samsung to get people to buy their most expensive Active# tablets that have user-serviceable drop-in batteries behind a backplate with a "stick-your-pry tool here" hole.

I contacted Samsung. But, I had had the tablet all of 13 months, so it was out of warranty. They wanted me to pay nearly half the original purchase price to have it repaired. So, I did some searching online to see what other options I had. Apparently, this is an extremely common problem with Samsung tablets. Look it up yourself. If your tablet ever fully looses charge, you may not be able to turn it back on without cracking it open. Mine is currently being used as a paper weight.

One is the fact that it only uses Samsung adapters and not standard ones. This means additional purchases, which I think is really a bad deal. Another MAJOR flaw is how the micro card must be inserted. It comes with a small, pointed metal piece which one must use to cause the tray that holds the card to come out completely. Only then can the card be placed into the tray and the whole thing reinserted into the tablet. A VERY stupid "advance" if that's what Samsung thinks it is!! If one has large fingers, as I do, and most men have, this makes the entire SIMPLE procedure MUCH more difficult and time-consuming!
