I went into this thinking I’d just got a decent deal on a lower end tablet, and didn’t expect much out of it at $250 to be honest. I have since had a lovely, smooth experience with the S6 lite. The display is clear and sound nice, the battery life has been surprising, I had it off the charger and in my bag all day yesterday and only opened it a couple times. In that entire time the battery power only went down 1% somehow. 1% seems insane to me. The overall quality is nice although glass on the screen edges doesn’t feel as premium to me, a rough sensation in spots when you run out finger over it. Not noticeable in a case. I got this solely to run a pattern tracking app only available on android devices, but now I enjoy it regularly for games and drawing, browsing ... MoreI went into this thinking I’d just got a decent deal on a lower end tablet, and didn’t expect much out of it at $250 to be honest. I am in my second year with this tablet and am so glad I bought this when I did. It has a fantastic screen and the audio sounds impressive with Dolby Atmos. Movies feel very realistic and there are few options to choose from based on what you're watching/listening to. The Spen worked fine, but the button on the side was feeling a bit lose. It's staying on though, so I'm not complaining. The tablet slows down now and then, otherwise, it's not too big of a deal unless you want a super fast responding device. The tablet is small and portable and fits very nicely in almost any backpack. If you are getting this for school, I would buy it as it was perfect for me and still works to this day. Slim, cost effective and an upgrade (in some areas) from my Tab S2. However the shortcomings to me are serious! I know many will think my upgrade is a bit late, but I am not a gamer or camera freak - my use is general but I use it constantly during the day. So, if I had been aware of two major deficiencies (with my usage/needs) I would NOT have purchased this product! The face recognition is woeful! I have both images that are possible recorded and still it works only 25% of the time. They tell you after buy it, that wearing glasses reduces the accuracy - an understatement to say the least!! Which makes the second deficiency even worse - no fingerprint reader!!! I am constantly having to use the PIN - horrible!! If I could afford to I would immediately upgrade.

Excellent tablet for the price.

This tablet is getting too much hate from uninformed users. So here is an honest take from someone who also uses S22 Ultra and the 10th gen iPad (for work).Relative to its price, this is an excellent tablet. The spen works great and I've had absolutely no issues with it. If you are experiencing accidental touches like another user is here, then you can disable the touch feature while using the S-pen through the app you're using. Also, don't use the S-pen like some brute otherwise you will definitely break the tip like some other user here. If you insist on pressing hard, you can always buy a Wacom One pen (make sure it's that model) and it will work with all Samsung s-pen devices. Personally, the S-Pen feels better. The performance on the tablet is fine for what it is. You won't get the blistering speeds of the S8 tablets, but you're also paying less than half the price. I noticed it begins to struggle with more than 4 tabs on the browser, and playing Civilization 6 on it (a CPU intensive game) is fine alhtough it does become a bit sluggish as you reach endgame.I use it as a notebook and for media consumption as well as for some work (invoices, documents, etc) and that works fine for my needs. I do play games on it occasionally and it delivers. How does it compare to the iPad 10th gen? The iPad is definitely faster, but it's also hundreds more and the pen, which isn't included, isn't as good. If your budget is only $400-$500 then this is the best tablet you can buy. The only other option would be to get the Tab S8.

This is a replacement for an earlier Samsung tablet that was having faults, the screen kept going black. The old one was only four years old, I'm hoping that its replacement lasts longer.I was very satisfied with the old one and the new one is certainly an improvement, better picture quality and much faster. Like everything these days it takes some getting used to, most things are slightly different.I like the pen but as of yet I haven't really mastered how to use it . Would have expected that you could just write on any screen but you can't. The online manual is not really much help. The only real fault and it's a big one. You can't attach the pen to the tablet, there should be a clip to hold it in place when you're not using it.Overall though a good product.

Fancy features without the fancy price tag
19 August 2021

I love this tablet. I did have a surface, but it's touchscreen eventually developed a dead zone which I hear is common for those devices. This tablet may not be able to replace a laptop but it can definitely replace your surface if it's not your laptop. I like having the spen, and being able to write down notes really quickly even when the screen is off. It's a great device if you want the fancy tablet features without the fancy price tag. The only difference is the spen does not have remote gestures like it does on the regular s6 or your note phone, and the device has no biometric capabilities (it does face unlock, but that uses the camera not an actual 3D biometric sensor like my surface did). This device does support Samsung Dex which I keep reading it doesn't, but here I am in dex mode with no extra screen writing this review.

Great for drawing and annotating
23 July 2022

I bought this tablet for annotating PDFs, drawing and taking notes. Much more convenient than a laptop and separate drawing tablet. Wifi only kept the cost down and I have access to wifi at work anyway, so LTE didn't matter. The smaller form factor of the lite also kept cost down while enabling me to have all the features I need.Even though it's a lite model, it's plenty big enough to use for drawing and very responsive with its fast processor. It has decent internal storage, expanded by SD card. All the apps I need are easily downloadable. The S pen is brilliant. Screen is great for movies and YouTube lectures. Build quality seems good, though only time will tell on that one. Great tablet for my needs
22 July 2022

I bought this tablet at the end of January 2022 and it has been great. Around the end of June 2022 the screen started to flicker and half the screen would turn gray or get lines going through it. Contacted Samsung and was advised to send it to their repair center. I had called customer service a couple of times to get the status of the tablet and never would I get a answer if they had found any issues. I was told the same story by two different agents. It has been two weeks and I received the tablet back today. Turned the tablet on, to find that the tablet still had the same issues. Contacted Samsung and was informed to return the tablet back to them so they can find what is causing the screen issues. It's a great tablet but the Samsung service is Very Poor.

Nice tablet with few compromises at good price

I am conflicted about this tablet because on one hand I like it and on other hand, I wish it was more. The already good experience with S6 Lite makes me wonder how much better is Tab S8.Here are things that I like about S6 LiteS-pen support (it comes in the box). It is so good, and I dare to say it is the best in the business. Writing feels natural. There is no latency and screen feel soft to touch just like if you were writing on regular paper. Handwriting recognition works well, and I rarely need to make corrections. Samsung apps that come pre-installed on the tablet are useful. Everything just flows naturally with s-pen on the tablet, and I find myself using s-pen 90% of the time, even for things like scrolling through webpages. Everything just flows naturally with s-pen on the tablet, and I find myself using s-pen 90% of the time, even for things like scrolling through webpages. I also use Microsoft office 365 which has s-pen support out of the box. I can edit PDF files, write notes in OneNote (although I wish OneNote had more options like on PC). So, in summary I find S-pen surprisingly useful and easy to use.Integration with Samsung phone. I use Samsung flow to connect the tablet and my phone together. I own Samsung Laptop and I find Samsung flow unnecessary on PC (because of Microsoft Phone Link) but the app is actually very useful when used with Samsung Tablet.I get all messages, notifications from the phone right on the tablet. I can control phone from the tablet (through screen casting) and even make call and send text messages. Call quality is actually very good. I did make few calls for testing, and I could hear people well and I was told that my voice quality was very good as well. You do not need to have your phone next to you when you have the tablet and it is kind of cool to talk to people through the tablet and at the same time make notes of the conversation in Samsung Notes. The tablet is lite, it is comfortable to hold, screen is nice and bright, speaker audio quality is crisp, and speakers are loud. The tablet provides good experience for media consumption like Netflix or YouTubeBattery is good. It will last all day without need of recharging. Here are things that I wish were betterI wish the tablet had display with 120Hz refresh rate. I have Samsung phone that has 120hz display and in comparison, scrolling through webpages feel choppy on S6 LiteI wish that this tablet had faster processor and more RAM. Qualcomm 720G is improvement over 2020 version but it is still lower hardware specs on this is especially noticeable while surfing the internet. I tried Edge, Samsung Browser, Firefox but they all feel just okey borderline sluggish. My Samsung phone is noticeably faster. I wish Samsung had another version of this tablet with more RAM and more powerful processor.I wish there was version of this tablet with LTE connectivity. I do not understand why midrange tablet like this does not get to have LTE but the cheapest of the cheapest A series tablet do. If you need LTE then you can either accept cheap Samsung Tab A or just go with Apple. I think Samsung is shooting itself in the foot, especially with business customers.Overall, this is good product considering its price but if you find yourself using this tablet a lot for work, productivity tasks then it might be better to invest more money and just get S8 that has twice as much RAM, way much faster processor, a little bit bigger screen, updated S-pen and bigger battery.
