I have owned various smartwatch brands over the years, Garmin, Fitbit and now Samsung. One thing they all have in common is that they develop issues within 12-18mths of ownership and the issues have all been similar. I have now had this watch for 13mths.The design of the watch is fine same as alot of other smartwatches. The straps are quite fiddly to remove for cleaning and even harder to put back on so I try to avoid that as much as possible.The screen is clear enough and the watch faces are customisable. There are some really funky ones available for an extra cost but these usually drain the already rubbish battery even quicker. For a long time I wasn't able to get Yahoo mail or Snapchat notifications on it.The worst part by far is the inconsistent battery. The power drops like a stone consistently every day. Be prepared to put it on charge as soon as you get home from work. Sometimes it's died after 6hrs or hasn't made it through the night on full charge. I do occasionally have to charge it twice a day. The poor battery makes this watch totally unsuitable for my needs. Other brands will last a week before needing to be charged. This spends more time on charge than on my wrist.It does also crash and need resetting from time to time and the most recent issue I have had is it recording calories. I did a treadmill workout and it recorded 0 calories over 45mins. I also played a cricket match and the watch said I burnt 450 calories another device said 250 so I question the accuracy.If you want a watch where you can get your phone notifications, monitor heart rate etc and log your workouts there are far better devices on the market at a significantly cheaper price and are more accurate.

My Samsung Galaxy Watch4 was the best purchase! I read reviews that said the Watch5 didn't have many more specs yet anyways, so I went with the Watch4 about 9 months ago and have worn it every day. I break out with the silicone bands from all watches (this was an upgrade from my Fitbit sense) so I ordered an acrylic watch band from Amazon for like $15. I charge it every night because battery life is about 16 hours, but I'm using every function from workouts, auto detect my walks, alarms, take calls multiple times a day, reply to messages, gps my runs, find my phone when I lose it, use Samsung pay, Spotify to control my music to my galaxy pro buds, check my calendar, and email. I have it to notify me of my glucose levels with the Libre 3 app. I am very rough on things, I've dropped it on the ground, swam in the ocean, both chlorine and salt water pools, washed dishes, and knocked it on hard surfaces including concrete (only left a few tiny scratches).

It is everything you would need from a smartphone, except it's compact and non-intrusive. It pairs up seamlessly with Samsung Health and I cannot even begin to count how many helpful functions there are, especially as someone who is trying to incorporate more excercise and movement into their life.I also really like how versatile it is, unlike other typical smart watches on the market, the galaxy watch has a timeless round shape that I really appreciate. It fits the typical watch standard well and just looks more natural overall as opposed to a square or rectangular shape. It's surprisingly lightweight too! (FYI, I have the rose-gold one. I don't typically go for rose-gold as my first choice in jewelry color, but the shade I have is absolutely beautiful! I definitely suggest it!)
I purchase this watch to be used in conjunction with my phone to help run my small business. I can honestly say, with no hesitation that this watch has been an absolute burden from the beginning. It does not successfully send texts, it does not search my contacts reliably, it will not make a phone call from my contacts, the Google Assistant will not reliably respond to hey google, I have to actually use Bigsby and it is far superior than the version of the assistant on this watch. About the only thing this watch does reliably is tell time and that is only up until the moment you put it on its charger and try and use it again the next morning where it will for about 20 to 30 minutes display the time that it was put on the charger the night before. Often I have to long press the watch face and enter the edit function multiple times just to get the watch face to activate. Even after what I assume was supposed to be an update for the Google Assistant, now it won't even do smart home stuff when I double press the button that I have manually set to launch the assistant. There's really nothing left to discuss or review. Other than that it has a shiny watch face and a nice band. Honestly I can't remember the last time I was so disappointed by a product. Why in the world would I or anyone consider going to a Galaxy watch 5 when they haven't even got the watch for correct yet.
