That being said there are some areas that could be better and may matter more to some individuals. The main area that still needs some work is battery life. This watch will last you about a day and a half or so depending on usage and wifi availability. This is enough to get sleep tracking at night but you may need to charge either randomly as needed or plan to charge it daily to essentially keep it from dying. ... MoreThe Galaxy watch 6 classic is one of the nicer options out there for smart watches. Battery life will start out worse but after ai learns your usage patterns it does improve significantly, though maxes out at the 1.5 days. Another area where this watch is behind is fitness tracking. There are a few features missing compared to the competition and even the Galaxy watch 5 pro. Notably, the GPS and deep underwater activities Other minor weaknesses include finicky auto brightness and easily triggered raise to wake. These aren't huge deal breaker but can affect your battery life substantially in the long run.Overall this is an excellent watch and a great return of the classic series! I would recommend it for most, though, for longer battery life or extreme sports you may need to weigh out your options.

Fantastic Upgrade with Incredible Features
14 September 2023

I wear this device (almost) 24/7, and let me tell you, it is an absolute game changer. I am coming from the galaxy watch 1, and the screen is greatly improved, as well as the overall "snappiness" of the device. Everything works faster, you can tell the clear performance improvements from the moment you turn it on, also with a ton of new features. The new features (that I find myself using frequently) are the sleep tracking, gestures, and health sensors. The sleep tracking is amazing, this device tells me not only how much I slept, but also how well I've slept. It is fun to see the cycles of sleep I've experienced and learn about their individual impact on my mental and physical recovery. Also, it's actively helping me to get better sleep in the process! The gestures are an absolute game changer. I ride a motorcycle, and using gestures I can answer or decline calls while on the road without having to take my hands off the handlebars. It has come in handy in many other applications as it is always helpful to not need my second hand in order to fully operate my watch. Watching the apple watch announcement yesterday had me laughing because this watch can already do all of that and more. Lastly, the health sensors are incredible! This new watch can detect, amongst other things, my heart rate, stress level, blood oxygen, and even conduct an ECG for heart arrhythmia! On top of all of this, it is comfortable and stylish. Overall, excellent product!

Fantastic, Functional, and Flawless Watch
10 September 2023

I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 from the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 and I have to say that this is a worthy upgrade. My Watch 3 has been my faithful companion for over 3 years and it was still going strong, but when I saw the vast improvements made for the Watch6, I had no choice but to upgrade. With the incredibly large and sharp watch display, solid craftmanship, buttery smooth and snappy operation, more app support for apps like WhatsApp, in depth health tracking, a plethora of amazing watch faces, as well as embracing wearOS software, I could not pass up on the opportunity to get Watch6. It is so easy to manipulate the band size with a simple unclasping of the magnetic clamp, this band can easily and comfortably fit any wrist size and combined with the watch itself creates quite a handsome and premium companion that turns heads every time I wear this superb and supreme timepiece. If you are debating whether to upgrade or not, I will tell you now, debate no further and upgrade immediately, you will not regret your decision. This watch is an indispensable part of my everyday carry, and it enhances my smartphone experience by allowing me a very viable and effortless way for me to use my phone without even having to take it out of my pocket. Watch6 is the best watch yet!

Good hardware with a few caveats

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is a quality offering with a large, bright, customizable face and a comprehensive suite of applications. However, like many of today's tech items, the supporting app is difficult to load and configure. It required multiple attempts to download and install the software and after I finally did get it installed a number of functions did not work. It was only after extensive tweaking of permissions and settings on the phone that I was able to get the Samsung phone and the Samsung watch to fully sync and work together.Although the band offers sufficient options to fit different sized wrists, the vinyl material is uncomfortable and feels clammy. I will be investigating alternatives in the hopes that it can be made more pleasant to wear.Battery life seems insufficient. Currently the watch must be charged nightly in orderto make it through a full work day. Charging speed is good and the provided proprietary base allows wireless charging however the adapter has a male USB-C end and is pretty short. There is no charging brick included (not that unusual in this day) but you will need to make sure you have a charger with the appropriate connector. The features are quite good. The watch offers almost everything we were looking for BUT the short battery life means that trying to collect a full-days stats is challenging and the band is so uncomfortable that there are days it stays on the shelf. In summary - the watch is less than perfect but has promising potential. I am hoping that future firmware updates will help me learn to love this device!

Great, highly functional smart watch!!

My family (with two older teenage boys) has enjoyed using smart watches over the past 6+ years, with the quick glances for text and email notifications without taking our phone out, along with all the other capabilities that keep getting added. We've used a few different brands during that time (which one brand we really liked and had a few of most of that time), but over the past year, our oldest son and I had moved over to the Samsung Galaxy Watch (5 Pro for both of us) and we really have enjoyed the upgraded functionality and design (especially when I finally moved over to a Samsung phone and gained even more functionality). My wife's most recent watch has been very nice, with a nice "fancy" design to it (that she has gotten may compliments on) with a metal band, but this year, we'd both finally joined a gym and that watch isn't exactly the best to wear. So, we wanted to get her a watch that was geared more towards being sporty and health monitoring that she wouldn't mind wearing to the gym or going on walks, and with us liking our Samsung watches, decided to get the new Samsung Galaxy Watch6 (40mm for her). So far, she hasn't been disappointed!!Comparing to her other watch, the body size is pretty much identical with the same thickness and width. But, the Galaxy Watch6 has a smaller bezel, which allows for a decently bigger visible screen, and overall is much lighter. And the screen, wow, it looks great! Even compared to my 5 Pro from last year, it looks even better (even if it is smaller than mine). Unlike the Watch6 Classic, which has a rotating bezel for scrolling through lists, this Watch6 has the same functionality but just sliding a finger around the outside edge. My 5 Pro has a similar touch scrolling around the outside edge, but it has a raised bezel to handle that, while the Watch6 is completely flat. It does have two buttons, the Home Key and Back Key (top and bottom buttons respectively when worn on the left wrist). Both can have their function changed. The Home Key actually has two activations - Press and hold and Double press. The Press and hold can be set to open Bixby, Google Assistant, or the Power Off menu. Double press can be to go to the most recent app, as specific app, My Exercises (in Samsung Health) or Accessibility shortcuts. For the Back Button, it is a single-press that can go to the previous screen (same as a swipe from left) or Show recent apps. It also will silence the vibration (and assumingly the watch ringtone) on an incoming call (without "dismissing" the call).Getting connected to her Galaxy S23+ was nice and simple. The Wearables app was already installed (you will need this installed first if it isn't already, and more on this later), so I turned on watch and phone immediately noticed it and asked to connect. It then downloaded Galaxy Watch6 Manager, asked a few setup questions, then finished setup. With it being Google WearOS, it connected to Google account (for Google Play Store access). Then, it prompted on phone to install Samsung Health Monitor (which is needed for several items, and if wanting to use the ECG function, it requires to be connected to a Samsung phone). So, in a fairly short time, it was ready to go!We like the new quick-connector design for the bands, using a push-button to release instead of the small sliding peg. She really likes the softness of silicone band, but the excess storage is a little different, where it is tucked into a slot and goes between the band and the wrist. She doesn't seem to mind it, though. The built-in health monitoring has quite a few functions turned on by default, and one of them caught my wife a little off-guard. While at the gym riding a stationary bike, she got an alert that her heartrate was extremely elevated for being still (as it wasn't detecting movement with her hands resting on the handles). It is also set up to automatically detect a workout if it senses movement for almost 10 minutes and asks if you'd like to start tracking it. One thing she hasn't tried yet is the sleep monitoring as she isn't used to wearing a watch to bed. It seems to be able to detect the different sleep cycles. The Classic mentions it can detect snoring, but I'm not sure if this one does. Samsung does have a softer fabric band available for a little more comfort when wearing while sleeping.Battery life seems it could be decent, just not a full 2 days (mentions up to 40 hours). She is already used to charging a watch every night, so we haven't seen just how long it would last. It won't last as long as my 5 Pro (which has a much bigger battery, which is why I got that model), it still has enough to make it through (and slightly past) the day. She has the always-on display and is using a photo slideshow face (which those images look great on it) and one day we checked, it had about 60% left after wearing it for about 12 hours. The charger is magnetic to hold it in place, and it requires a USB-C port for charging (like normal nowadays, charging blocks are not included). While we have some USB-C charging blocks (from when they actually still did include them with phones), I've gotten some USB-C to USB-A adapters so we can still use those. Also, if away from the charger and needing a little extra before getting to the charger, it can be charged from a phone that has wireless power share capability. The one thing I have liked with the Galaxy Watch Manager in the Wearbles app is that every single setting you can set and manage on the watch is available in the settings in the app itself. This is quite useful, especially for rearranging the app order in the app list. And all the health information is synched to the Samsung Health app on the phone. If you are more used to working with Google Fit for activity tracking, it can be installed on the watch as well.As with most technology items, they seem to get better and better with each new version, and this is no exception. And while she had planned to still wear the "fancy" older watch (depending on the situation), the Galaxy Watch6 is starting to become the main watch she wears.

New to Galaxy Watches and love that I switched!
30 August 2023

This is my first Samsung Galaxy Watch, and after a week of use, I am loving my new watch! As soon as I threw it on, it felt good, and I don’t think I can go back to having a square watch anymore. This thing looks beautiful and although I don’t have the Classic model, it feels classic compared to my other square watch it’s replacing. The screen display is also very good. It’s bright in direct sunlight and looks incredibly sharp in indoor settings. Zero complaints on the screen brightness and display. The quality built surprised me. I had only seen pictures of the watch and I thought it looked a bit slim and not durable, but once I got it on my hands, I was surprised at how good it felt for as slim as it is. The band also feels great on the wrist. It’s elegant and yet feels like it can sustain some rough situations. I’ve taken mine mountain biking and swimming already. Zero complaints.Fitness tracker also seems to be more accurate than my older watch, and this could be due to my other smartwatch being a couple years old, but I appreciate the accuracy because it’s important to me as it’s a feature I will be using the most.Battery life is decent. I am still waiting for a smartwatch that I can use for at least a week at a time, but we are probably some years from that, but this one gets about 2 days of use or sometimes 1.5 days if you’re using fitness tracker at least 2-3 times in those hours.Overall, I would recommend this for anyone looking for a smartwatch that works flawlessly with Android. No joke, as soon as you throw it on your wrist, you will love just how comfortable it feels and how good it looks!

Stylish with good battery life
23 August 2023

This is my 3rd different brand of smart watch. My biggest complaint to date was the inability to reliably get a full, busy day of use out of the battery. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 (40mm version) pulls its weight with at least 24 hours of runtime [rated at 30hr/40hr depending on "always on" feature--I do not have mine set to always on nor do I have wifi always on]. The battery fast charges to 8hr of charge in 8 minutes per the website. I have operated the watch mostly as a bluetooth paired device with my Android phone. The watch itself is very stylish, more so than its primary competitors, in my opinion. The band is very comfortable and easy to clasp and fits my wrist well. The screen pretty much goes right up to the edge--minimal wasted space on bezel. The screen is bright and bold and easy to read. Built-in GPS means you ditch the phone but still track your exercise when walking, hiking, cycling, etc.Although booting of the watch seems a bit sluggish, setup was easy. Essentially download the Galaxy Wearable app, turn bluetooth on on the phone, wait for the watch to give a code that you confirm over on the phone, then finish the setup and configuration on the phone. It took about 7 minutes including some time to do an update and a watch restart. The internal guts of the watch (processor, speed, storage, etc.) are all fine and fast and ample for what I need. Health, fitness and sleep are all great aspects of this watch, but here's where Samsung starts to lose me...There are too many uninstallable Samsung preloads on the watch. I live and die by Google apps and accounts and had hoped this Android driven watch would not come with too much bloatware. Even if I used a Samsung phone, I probably would still prefer my Google apps over the Samsung equivalents for health, music, photos, etc. The fact that I cannot uninstall the Samsung branded apps is frustrating, plus they appear to be always active (cannot turn off background activity on the Samsung Health Monitor app, for example, however it appears to be using 0% of the battery at the moment). At best, I can move these apps to the bottom of my app list and install my preferred equivalent apps to the top of the list. All in all, a very stylish, easy to use and read smart watch with better than average battery life but a little bloated with Samsung apps (health app being among the best) and tools that cannot be removed.
