Impossibly compact for maximum impact Galaxy Z Flip folds to be surprisingly small for an outstanding design that easily fits into your pocket, bag, or accessory. The full screen that fits in your pocketGalaxy Z Flip's Infinity Flex Display is an immersive Dynamic AMOLED screen delivering incredible color quality and reduced blue light. With minimized bezels and no notch, it's 6.7 inches of stunning cinematic viewing. A new perspective on how you shoot photos Galaxy Z Flip folds and holds its position at multiple angles, giving you the ability to capture amazing low angle shots that play with perception for thought-provoking photos. Call it the new power pose. Half screen, full control When you freestop fold, Flex mode splits apps in half and puts the controls on the bottom half — turning the top half into a viewing area. I would expect a company like Samsung to stand by their product and mail out replacement so I could me mail back my current phone. Before purchasing a Fold or Flip i would make sure you have a store near by that is authorized to work on Samsung devices. This experience has questioned if i would purchase another Samsung devices.

This phone does heat up pretty bad while charging so while you are charging it make sure you have it on a metal plate or something that cant catch fire just in case, do not use the phone while its charging because all 3 got up to 115 degrees while charging and the front plate actually burnt my hand THROUGH my phone case. The screen if it even touches anything will make that line in the phone and then after the screen is "compromised" the fold in the phone will crack and the rest of the phone will shatter ... MoreI bought this phone with very high hopes about it. After 6 months I am GLADY upgrading to the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

I've had the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G for almost two years. The phone is great and even though it's thinner and taller than the average candy bar shaped cellphone it only took a couple days for me to get used to it. Being able to close it and slip it into a pocket or turn it upside down and hide all of the cameras is great. I love the mini screen on the outside where I can control my music and audio books or check the time and weather. Covers are a bit of a hassle since they're either stylish or protective with no inbetween. The factory installed screen cover, which is super important and should not be removed by the user, goes kaput in 9 months. I know several others who had the same issue exactly 9 months later, too. It's the most expensive screen cover change I've ever had, $70 and a week later from my carrier. There is no Samsung Center in my location but I know a person who sent their phone in and got it back 2 weeks later with no specialty screen cover. I had the new screen cover for 2 months before it started to peel again. The camera is really good to a shocking amount. It picked up two stars around the moon that I couldn't see at all, and night photos are so bright. I love taking pictures in portrait mode. It also hooks up really fast to my SmartTV for screen sharing and it picks up 5G in my rural area when others can't even while on the same carrier. The battery is awful, and I had to deep dive and make a million little changes to make the battery last all day with minimal use, unlike my last phone which lasted 2 days with heavy use. The phone is worth it if it can be picked up on sale, but definitely not worth full price.

Jim Cinquini0 seconds agoI'd love to report good things about the flip because I liked it..... at first. Now, I'm sorry to write, but after four Z-flip failures and several hundred dollars in insurance deductibles and countless hours on the phone with Samsung and the carrier, I am done with this phone. All four of my Z-flips had either a screen failure or a hinge failure within the first 6 months of daily use. In my opinion, this phone is not durrable enough for daily use. If the phone falls off your desk even once, or out of your hands, the hinge is likely to immediately fail and not open all the way. Even when the hinge works ok initially, after a few weeks, the upper or lower half of the screen will become unresponsive to the touch. There may be a black "patch" ... MoreJim Cinquini0 seconds agoI'd love to report good things about the flip because I liked it..... at first. Poorest Quality Samsung Phone I have ever owned
23 June 2022

Absolutely the worst Samsung phone I have ever purchased. I have been a loyal Samsung owner for over a decade now. I thought this phone would be perfect for my line of work. I was hoping that the foldable phone would help protect my screen from the inevitable scratches that come from doing construction work, as I could utilize the cover screen to filter phone calls and messages. That idea worked well for awhile. After only 6 months of of opening and closing the phone a few thin lines formed across the center of the screen. I don't use my phone for watching videos very much and the resolution was good enough to ignore. After a couple weeks a thin black line showed up and began to spread to the top of the screen. Eventually all touch input stopped working. I am ... MoreAbsolutely the worst Samsung phone I have ever purchased. I have been a loyal Samsung owner for over a decade now. I upgraded to the 2nd generation Z Flip 5g in February 2021 right before the 3 came out. It's a neat little device that brings back the nostalgia of the early 2000s but super hi-def. It's a bit heavy although perfectly compact for my needs. So here's the problem. The screen was defective upon arrival but if I restarted the phone it would go away for awhile. I called att and they told me that att warranty does not deal with the flips and folds and would have to go through Samsung warranty. Samsung wanted me to drive 3 hours from my house to a repair center or send the phone in to be repaired despite not having inventory so I choose to deal with the defect until the phone started resetting itself in August. I called Samsung again and was put in some purgatory of a wait list for a replacement. I received one 30 days after my initial claim that was DOA. Called Samsung back and they wanted me to send it back for repair despite not having inventory of parts to fix it or phones to replace it or drive 3 hours to a repair center again. So I called att after all the BS and loyalty retention paid the deductible for the their insurance company to send out another device. I've had it for about two months and it's restarting itself without saving my settings and the outside screen is acting strange. Called the insurance company and they won't replace it because they have a 30 day defective period and I've had it for 60 days. Called att and they still refuse to accept under their warranty because Samsung only deals with the flips and folds. Called Samsung warranty and they told me they would get back to me in 72 business hours with a decision to refund me. For those who got working devices good for them because it's a cute compact device but for the others like me, Samsung is pulling some serious BS. It's criminal. I've read the reviews on the 3 generation and it seems like a toss up as well. Samsung has the folds and flips under wraps because it's new technology and the people that purchased these defective devices are caught in the middle of it all. I haven't had a properly working $1400 phone in almost a year and none of the companies are taking responsibility. There should be a warning before you purchase these phones that the carrier does not honor the warranty and it's in the POS manufacturers hands.

Solid device due to the form factor and innovation. While not as top of the line as other flagships on the market, I still consider this very premium for the average user. That being said, if the top specs, camera, and battery life are your main priority then I will say to look elsewhere.

This review is regarding the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G. I've been out of the loop about phones for awhile now. My trusty Note 4 had finally reached the end of its lifespan that replacing batteries could no longer fix (partial bootloop and my carrier shutting down 3G which would make it unable to do voice calls) and it was high time for a new phone anyhow. I was planning on replacing it before this all happened and was just figuring I'd get the newest Note they had available at the time, but my friend had the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and I was absolutely blown away by the design. The Z Flip 3 had literally just came out and while it wasn't as "top of the line" as the rest of the flagships available, it was still quite the upgrade from my old Note, so none of what it lacked was a dealbreaker for me. I'm very happy with my purchase thus far. The design, quality of the screen, great speakers, camera, and the intricate file system make this a valuable replacement for my dusty old notebook that I used for writing miscellaneous notes. It definitely isn't the phone for everyone if the top specs, camera, and battery life are your primary concern, but it's still a solid device that I'd buy all over again in a heartbeat.I'd say this is a perfect phone for an average user who misses having a flip phone and wants to experience something new. Edit: Just realized I didn't address the crease which is most people's concern about these things. Honestly, being that I wrote this review on said phone and forgot all about it should tell you what you need to know.Unless you're in direct sunlight or actively looking for it, you truly don't notice it looking at the phone straight on.Kind of like how you don't notice your nose unless you take a moment to look is my comparison on the matter. Some can live with that, some can't.For me it's not really a matter worth mentioning since it's so easily ignored.

Want a flip phone? Get the RAZR
18 January 2023

It's a phone. I owned the razr flip right before this and it excels in almost every way. The only positive thing I actually have to say about the galaxy flip is its hinge, which can position itself for easy viewing of videos...I had the razr flip for about 8 months, thinking this would be an upgrade IT WAS NOT. The razr flip had less screen crease, the front screen was fully functional, it was BEAUTIFUL. I NEVER use the front screen on my galaxy flip, it's beyond useless besides telling me the battery life while charging. The only reason why I didn't get another razr is because they didn't have it in store. With medium expectations for this model of Samsung, I am disappointed.

Worst phone ever! Do NOT buy!
21 January 2023

Worst phone ever! Me and my husband both got the Z flip phone on the same day, and his had a cracked along the fold 4 days after buying it. He had NOT dropped it or anything. Had to fight with At&t and Samsung warranty for a month because neither wanted to cover it. We sent the phone in for repairs and were charged almost $300. My husband lost ALL of his info, photos that were back up etc because the screen didn't work at all before we sent it in, and they sent a factory reset phone back. Finally we called At&t enough times to threaten to cancel all of our plans and somehow we had to "upgrade" into an even MORE expensive phone just to get out of dealing with the Z flip anymore. It has now been a year since I've had MY flip phone and I've already had to do an insurance claim 6 months from when I bought it due to a crease on the fold (paid $175). And now another 6 months has passed and a crease is forming on the fold again... At&t required me to pay $85 to payoff half of the flip phone, I had to pay $50 the taxes on the new phone I am upgrading to. And still have to pay a $35 activation fee for the new phone on my next bill. At this point I am willing to pay ANYTHING just to NEVER have to deal with the Z flip phone again. This was a complete nightmare... and all I'm hoping for now is that the crease on the flip phone doesn't completely disable my phone before my new phone arrives. Otherwise will have a hell of a time trying to transfer all my data and reset all my passwords to the new phone...
