No doubts the SSD is the best for this value. It has almost equal performance to 980 PRO considered as the best one by many and by me, but PM9A1 is considerably cheaper. Definitely recommend to buy.

The disk does what a 980 Pro does without any of the comfort features.BUT!If you need Gen4 speeds, buy a disk that uses the Phison E18 controller and 176-Layer NAND, like the Corsair MP600 XT Pro or the Seagate FireCuda 530. They are faster and better than the current real 980 Pro or the PM9A1.My PM9A1 started failing after one year of use at around 24 TBW. Probably just bad luck that could happen to any disk, but the problem here is that no software picked up the failing sectors early (by S.M.A.R.T.). The disk went into read-only mode at 8% unrecoverable damaged sectors. I managed to recover and backup most of my data to another drive via Hiren's BootCD. But after an attempt to format the disk, it fully died and didn't show up in BIOS anymore. If you use this ... MoreThe disk does what a 980 Pro does without any of the comfort features.BUT!If you need Gen4 speeds, buy a disk that uses the Phison E18 controller and 176-Layer NAND, like the Corsair MP600 XT Pro or the Seagate FireCuda 530. I upgraded an older Samsung 500GB NVMe drive to this new 2TB drive. The old drive went into the ROG external enclosure. The drive itself is fast, around 6GB/sec read and 4GB/sec write in a quick benchmark. The enclosure is also very fast, ~900MB/sec read and write over USB-C. High quality, sturdy, although a bit heavy. The whole case is a heat-sink with a thermal pad between the case and the drive - overall a great design. This is the perfect combination for anyone looking to upgrade an m.2 drive and wants to use the old disk a usb drive.Currently, it's 80chf cheaper than the 980 Pro 2TB drive, which doesn't come with an external enclosure.

Fast SSD with affordable price and performance similar to Samsung 980 Pro SSD. Need to have heat sink installed with PM9A1 (throttling temp 82 c).

The installation process was easy, and it delivers blazing-fast read and write speeds. The build quality is top-notch, and it runs cool without any overheating issues. Overall, I would highly recommend this SSD to anyone looking for a high-performance storage solution.
Think of this as an OEM version of the super, but expensive, 4th generation PCIe Samsung 980 Pro series (which is about 100fr more expensive for the 2TB capacity). As an OEM version, it comes in just a plastic bag - no instructions, warranty, card, etc.The issue arises when you install it. Samsung NVMe drivers don't see it, so it gets installed with Microsoft drivers, and Samsung Magician cannot identify it, so over-provisioning can't be setup. For now, reserve about 11% space when creating your partitions, so that future provisioning can be enabled.
