Samsung S90D television, an incredible TVI jumped in right away and got the QN55S90D as soon as I could, was excited to see what upgrading my TV would get me in 2024 and how a modern OLED tv would work in my situation.The quick summary is that I love this TV, I’m using it in a bright room and have none of the issues I thought I would have when using an OLED TV in my situation. There are many benefits, but to me the biggest surprise benefit is the off-angle viewing. I used to have an LED TV where I have this one, and never realized how much better the picture could look. Every day when I glance at it from the side, I’m still impressed with how good it looks. With the fantastic picture quality, the off-angle viewing, the easy to use wonderful gaming hub, and all the other advantages, I’m now planning to purchase a second much larger one for the living room. It’s a great television and a great entertainment hub.Installation and setup were easy and straight forward. The removal from the box was easy, but I recommend going slowly, the TV is very thin and use care to lift it only where directed to in the quick setup guide. The base was very simple to install and I like that Samsung gives you clips to route the power and signal cables around so the install looks clean and neat. After that it was turn on the TV, select the language and then scan a qr code with my phone to log into my account. My Samsung account already had all my services and apps in it, so I just used those for my new TV and I was done. A few picture adjustments I like to make and log in to a few TV apps I like to use and my TV was set up and ready to go.I tested it with streaming services to see how well it upscaled and was just blown away with how fast, sharp and clear the upscaling was across multiple sources and services. The sound from the TV was great and if I didn’t already have a sound system I probably would have not bought one, since the sound was good enough for me from just the speakers, but I have a sound system and so I am going to use it. But it’s not really necessary because to me the sound from the speakers was surprisingly good. The HRD/HDR10+ content I watched and the AI upscaling was really good, better than I would have imagined before I got this TV.I was planning on buying another console to use with this TV, to take advantage of the game features of this tv, the 144Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium, game mode and so on, but then I opened up the gaming hub, connected my standard xbox controller via the Bluetooth 5.2 connection and with my game pass subscription I started playing my game pass games. I thought it would only handle simple games, since they were being cloud streamed but no, I was playing all of my games just like if I was on the console. Had a great time and loved it. Now just waiting to get in trouble from the better half because I have a Xbox controller sitting in front of “her” new TV.Just to summarize once again, Great TV, love the picture, love the gaming Hub, haven’t got to try to use the SmartThings hub yet, but will be setting that up when I can take myself away from gaming. I will be buying another larger one for the family room you can count on that.

The tv is very thin which is great for mounting on the wall and the bezel on the front is also very thin around entire tv. The base is located in the center of the tv which makes it easy to set on any entertainment stand and is a sturdy metal vs little plastic feet.Picture quality is awesome, the contrast between the bright colors and dark blacks is impressive, 4k looks noticeably better. Color and contrast are very good using factory default settings. Would have liked to see Sharpness setting have more effect on picture quality when adjusted, could only see differences when very close to the screen - no visible difference at normal viewing distance (8 ft). While watching 4k movies (especially animated CGI movies) the Depth Enhancer is noticeable and makes the picture appear almost 3D. We did go through the Smart Calibration process (which worked fine with iPhone 14), but found the picture very similar to Film Maker mode and overall color, contrast and brightness not as visually appealing as the Default settings with reduced brightness. The OS is very useful because there are plenty of apps all in one place as well as free content.The QD-OLED panel provides a very high quality picture, noticeably better than WOLED. Thinness of the TV is very attractive for wall mounting. Screen also seems to have better anti-reflection / anti-glare properties when compared to old TV (2012 Samsung). We are very impressed with the 55” Samsung S90D.

We have been evaluating newer television options to replace our old power-hungry plasma TV and decided to replace it with the Samsung QN55S90D. We have not been disappointed with the choice. The S90D has a beautiful full-width QD QLED display that provides outstanding visual presentation with its bright vibrant colors. Although the factory default settings provided outstanding video and audio, we used the easy to access settings options to optimize the display to our preferences. In about 15 minutes of adjustments and testing we were able to get the system adjusted to our preference and are completely satisfied with the bright, crisp and bold colors when watching ... As a photographer I understand that yielding the most out of the raw input file depends greatly upon the ability to leverage the data and maximize its conversion into the final displayed product. Samsung has done an exceptional job of using its enhancer to maximize the available detail when displaying the programming resulting in much more detail within the elements of the displayed image. Truly impressive.Although one of the benefits which we were seeking with a replacement TV was to leverage our existing receiver and surround entertainment system, when watching streaming content on the QN55S90D, we have had the opportunity to listen to with the TV’s Dolby Atmos sound systems and have been impressed with the outstanding sound quality and experience. This capability provides us with options on leveraging the best audio experience in our entertainment experience.Finally, we had a limitation on our available TV size selection as we had an existing entertainment center with a power lift system for hiding the TV when not in use. The S90D met the need with its low-profile design and its easy to interface with mounting locations.The ability to connect to the steaming providers such as Disney+ is an added benefit we have not been able to leverage until now. I highly recommend the S90D.

I took them up on their recent buy one get one deal and purchased a 55 inch S90D as our new main TV and then got a free 65 inch 4K Crystal UHD model. Ordered on Samsung.com, picked up the order the next day at a local Best Buy. Set up the S90D that night and I'll admit at first I was really impressed with the functionality and the picture. But as my review title suggests, that was that night. The next morning, my wife turns it on and within a few minutes the screen goes black. Audio was still working but no picture. I looked it up online, apparently this is a common issue with the newer models, and found some troubleshooting guides. Tried ... Considering that it had been less than 24 hours at this point, I took the defective unit back to Best Buy figuring they could swap it out and we'll try it again. At Best Buy their support team quickly confirmed that the unit was defective, they couldn't even get the picture on at all at that point. But then they informed me that because I'd purchased from Samsung directly, that Samsung would have to authorize the replacement. Which seems silly to me since we'd proven it was defective and under warranty so a simple swap shouldn't have been an issue. After 2 hours sitting at the store on the phone with Samsung Support, they essentially refuse to replace the unit on the spot. Wanted me to either go the technician support route (2 to 4 weeks) or wait fora replacement in the mail (4 to 6 weeks). At that point I tell them that is unacceptable and they either authorize the replacement or give me a refund. The support representative from there puts me back on hold for ages and then tells me they've authorized it. I go back to my support representative at the Best Buy only to find out they've just issued a return on the order and now I have to drive home and pick up the other TV. So here I sit no new TV and $2100 poorer waiting for my refund to hit my bank. My wife and I had a lot of brand loyalty with Samsung and this could have been solved in 5 minutes with a replacement. I'll definitely never order from Samsung directly again and I'll think twice about any product of theirs I may purchase in the future, if not strike them off entirely.

The back of the TV feels like it has some sort of metal and the lower back of the TV is made of plastic that feels solid; though I wish it felt a little bit more premium, but it isn’t a knock on the quality.Overall, the TV has left me astounded. I already loved my original OLED and I thought it already was as good as it could get. This TV took it up a giant leap. Colors pop, the 144hz (for PC Gaming) is a huge plus for having a better resolution and keeping up with higher frames in games. VRR/ALLM and AMD Freesync Premium help make for an elevated gaming experience. Easy accessible menus and ease of use making changes to the settings are a bonus. The control is intuitive and again, very easy to use. The “Home Setting” is streamlined, and runs extremely fast thanks to the new NQ4 AI Gen 2 Processor. Nothing feels slow when scrolling. The setup is super easy and can be done within a minute, the build quality is also very good, although the plastics could feel a bit more premium.Overall, this TV serves its purpose. I wanted it to beat my original OLED and it was able to do that soundly.If you are looking for a high-end premium TV, do yourself a favor and get this!

The plasma TV still works but I wasn't sure how much longer it would last and decided it would be a good time to get a new TV.The Samsung TV is much brighter than my previous set and the images are very crisp. I fine tuned the settings to adjust it to a more comfortable level that my eyes are accustomed to. And the reverse works…One click sound goes off, Two clicks the TV shuts off. This never worked with the old equipment – I would have to use the original remote to shut off the sound and TV.AND the Sound – I added a new Samsung Sound Bar with Surround Sound – wow – the entire room is filled with sound.I tried a number of YouTube Test Videos – 4K, 8K, 12k, HDR – The Screen was so very bright and clear, and clean.I viewed the reruns of the Eclipse – Commercial TV and NASA TV – The DIAMOND ring was Whiter than White – it was so vibrant- I could not believe my eyes.Obviously, I love the new TV – it has so many more features that I have not begun to use. So, I ordered it late one afternoon and it was delivered to my front door less than 24hrs later! I live alone, but since it only weighs 39 pounds, I figured I could easily install it myself (even though the instructions call for 2 people). However, the entire screen is very thin--less than 1/4" thick--and seemed like it might flex and sustain damage, if I tried to lift it with just a hand on each side. Two people really are ... The sound on this TV is good enough that I don't need a separate soundbar.Although this cost considerably more than my old VIZEO TV, I believe the higher quality picture and sound are worth the difference!
