I always trusted Samsung for it's memory components. They're the best and most reliable in the industry. This drive has great build quality, a Stealth look, IP65 water resistant, rugged, and Decent speed. Also 4TB!!!! This is precisely what I was waiting for. The only thing I had hoped for was the true NVME speeds this drive lacks. But possibly they didn't release at that speed because of the overheating and reliability at those higher speeds. Sandisk G40 Pro is achieving 2k speeds but that's crazy expensive. I think this is the sweet spot. Will be looking forward to the faster speed drives Samsung is going to release in the future.

I love it. Its a must buy. Especially if you have tons of music, photos and doing films. It will handle it no problem. I have even put together films while keeping the video file on the SSD and not even have to out itnin my macbook pro it Ipad pro. Its jist cool! Must buy.

This drive is awesome! I'm using it for a super fast connection to my Mac Studio as a storage drive for my Logic Pro sessions. As a music producer and Christian Music Artist, I need FAST and this drive delivers! I connect it to one of the Thunderbolt 4 ports and there are no hiccups in data transfer as I'm working on my music. I am going to be ordering another one for my on-stage setup :) It is pricey if you don't get it on sale, so when it goes on sale, SNAG IT!!

I needed a 4TB portable SSD. It's fast, it's tiny, and pretty much exactly what I needed. Sure, it will likely cost less in 6 months or a year, but my need was now. I priced NvME drives and Thunderbolt enclosures, which would have been a really fast solution, but didn't need the extra speed enough to justify the extra $. So, here we are. Thumbs up.
I've been working with personal computers since the mid 70's. I've lost a lot of data and I've had to reinstall my operating system many times due to hard drive crashes. I replaced every hard drive in my system with this one little masterpiece of electronics. I have 4 partitions about 1TB each - operating system on one, documents and pictures on another, downloads and misc storage on another. Very fast RW rate and if I want - I can take it all with me. I Love it.
I needed something to back up my Samsung phones now that the newer flagships don't have expandable SD memory slots. This portable drive is great at OTG unlike other drives that I own. I can easily move files and photos between my Samsung phone, tablet, and computer. This is a must-have for creatives and content creators. Built tough and solid. I have no qualms about the durability. Fast data transfer, but cost is up there!
Overall good purchase. As with always, you never fully get the full storage space on these external drives (and same with memory cards). Given how big video and image files continue to be with tech advances, worth going for the largest storage possible. Love the small size and portability and durability of this design. Would recommend. Protects from dust, spills, floods, drops, and more, makes it a great find for keeping data safe. Check out how small it is next to the laptop in the photo.
really enjoy the drive with one minor issue. The build quality is solid and I enjoy the rugged build. The speeds on my 2019 iMac computer are fast. HOWEVER I have the drive encrypted using Mac APSF encryption. This slows the drive on my computer (as it does on other drives) but on my wife's M1 MacBook Air, this drive suffers more read slow down than my Sandisk SSD extreme V2 drives. Those drives (also encrypted) suffer almost no read/write speed slowdown on her computer but this Samsung drive suffers noticeable read slowdown. Not sure why there is a discrepancy there but it is. Overall however, the drive works great on my computer and seems reliable so far. Do recommend.
Fantastic little drive for Time Machine backups. Some people say it's a waste of money to buy an SSD for that purpose, but the noise of my old external HDD and the hang time on my iMac when the HHD was waking/spinning up to do a backup were SO annoying and frustrating. This Samsung SSD completed the first backup of about 2TB in less than an hour! Subsequent incremental backups are speedy and silent, and I don't notice any hang time at all. I followed the advice I read in several comments about buying a high-speed data cable to make sure I got the maximum read/write speeds possible with the drive (I did not test the speed with the original cable, so can't comment on that). So over all, kind of pricey, yes—but on sale and for the sake of my sanity, SO worth it.
Excellent little device. Takes up so much less space than my old standard drive. Its so cute... =] The silicone cover is nice and rugged but makes it hard to stick anything to it. Like velcro for mounting it somewhere convenient. I had to wrap small velcro straps around it. Besides that. Excellent upgrade... =]
