The difference in quality is astounding despite being similar prices, it's so much quieter, even in a high floor apartment, and my family's clothes are a lot cleaner, I have a toddler and a sports obsessed primary school kid and this gets stains out no problem, with a really efficient rinse. Star of the show for me, is the app and laundry recipe, takes all the hard work out of laundry; you just tell the app what you're washing, colour and how dirty it is and it recommends the ideal cycle, all you have to do is download the cycle and press start. Yes, this is an older model but I am none the less impressed with the functionality of this product. Design features are quite basic but functional. I would say that the Anthracite version might look better owing to the rather large black door in the middle of a white machine (it does stand out!!). The screen is perfectly legible and easy to understand, and the scroll knob is distinct in its selection. The touch sensor buttons require you to press for a little longer than I'd have thought (the machine tells you to 'press for longer') but this is in no way detracts from its functionality and is something I will get used to. You'll definitely know when your washing has finished as the machine will play a polyphonic symphony on completion of a wash cycle. This stops as soon as you open the door. When the cycle is complete, the door lock instantly disengages. It's about time we moved away from the old '1 minute wait' at the end of a wash cycle. All in all, a very well conceptualised machine. I had read up the reviews for this Samsung model and it seemed promising. There are so many functions to choose from that suits an organised person. It also remembers the most used programs. I love the steam function for a hygienic clean of bedding and towels. It has a bubble & soak function for dirty tradies clothes. Babys clothes no problem, either- a program for them. I also love the add clothes hatch during a program- extra tea towel or underwear!. Finally a program for my underwire bras, too. When our old washing machine conked out mid-wash, I went straight to the Which? website to check out their recommendations for a new one. As we already have a Samsung tumble drier, which is worth its weight in gold, I was really pleased to see they had several Samsung washing machines on their best buys list. I ordered on a Saturday evening, and delivery was booked for Monday. Thankfully, Samsung charge a fair price for delivery, which includes removal of old appliance and connection/installation of the new one (unlike some places who stack these charges one of top of the other). As we already have a Samsung tumble drier, which is worth its weight in gold, I was really pleased to see they had several Samsung washing machines on their best buys list. I ordered on a Saturday evening, and delivery was booked for Monday. Thankfully, Samsung charge a fair price for delivery, which includes removal of old appliance and connection/installation of the new one (unlike some places who stack these charges one of top of the other). I've now had the machine for just under one week, and have run a variety of washes - cottons, towels, bedding - and everything comes out of the machine smelling so fresh and clean that it's made me realise that my old machine was underperforming for quite some time before it gave up the ghost! My new Samsung machine managed to get grass stains out of a white school top without leaving even a hint of green behind. The machine itself runs quietly for the most part, with slight bursts of noise when more water is being pumped in. You can see how long each wash is going to take, and the tune played when a cycle has finished is a handy reminder (my old machine gave one quick beep, which was easy to miss). Overall, I am extremely happy with my new washing machine. The 5 year warranty is an added bonus, although hopefully I'll never have to use it!
I did so much research and decided on this model set for my budget, but regret it so much. Donât know how it has so many good reviews, I should not have ignored the few bad ones - as this washer does not clean very well. Iâve tried smaller loads, lots of different types of powder and liquids and different cycles but clothes are still coming out smelly and stained. It also seems to be putting a lot of wear on clothes and towels, I seems to have more pulls and loose cottons. I wash my baby bibs on a regular cycle with a pre wash, and they are still coming out with small amounts of food on them and smelly. It says itâs an 8.5kg but the drum size is small, and it struggles to wash one super king sheet set. Donât fall for the cool app feature - you have to reconnect every time you open it which takes about 20secs, you might as well just walk down and look at the machine. The timing is also out. I have looked in the app and it said washing had 5minutes to go, and I could literally hear the finished jingle at the same time. Buy a machine that doesnât have a digital display - itâs such a pain that itâs âintelligenceâ reorders to frequently used cycles. I wash wool once a month and afterwards it goes to the front of the list and everything is reordered. Only feature I do like about this machine is the add to wash door BUT for some reason this randomly releases after a wash, when I reload and start, it comes up with a notice saying door is open, and I didnât open it. Detergent tray also stays wet most of the time so you need to leave open like washer door. And the door hinges cannot be changed over like the dryer can. Overall, terrible washer that doesnât wash well - just like the matching dryer that doesnât dry well. My old top loader did a better job.

So I suggested he get all those funky Crossfit shirts and put them through the steam/ deep clean cycle. Donât think I will ever be organised enough to programme a wash from my phone but who knows. Husbands fave appliance, mine is my Roomba.

We have a very long bungalow and there was no issues with the wifi signal, the router is right on the other side. I was worried there wouldn't be enough short cycles and the machine would be too complicated but it is easy to understand-just turn the dial to choose a cycle and the display tells you which cycle and how long it will take. There are loads of options for short washes. Yet to try all the washes and am intersted in the steam wash for my sons smelly shirts. The machine is quiet and sleek, looks great.
