This SD card is fast! If you're not familiar with the classifications, U3 is fast enough speed for 4k video (and like usual the SD card also works with a slightly older format with C10 being the fastest possible there). If you shoot 4k you need this card or a similar one, but even outside of 4k you might need this.I do much more photography than video and I always shoot in RAW+Large which means when I do a burst of shots the card can only handle so many pictures before it starts to slow down to catch up on saving the files. I compared this to a C10 card (not U3 + C10) and this took 3 more burst pictures before it started to slow, and even when slow was saving them faster. Just be sure you're getting a large enough one to store what you need.

This SanDisk Ultra Plus SD card is a good option for compact and mid range cameras. I am using this in my compact camera and the up to 150 MB/sec read speed is enough. I prefer having multiple lower capacity SD cards as opposed to one huge one, so 64GB is perfect for my use. It is important to have a good memory card because if it fails, then hundreds or even thousands of photos and videos are gone. I know this sadly from past experience. SanDisk tends to make reliable SD cards and this card seems to do well so far. The packaging could be a bit more frustration free. I tried opening it by cutting it across the dotted line on the back but ended up having to cut through a lot of the cardboard and then through the plastic holding the card to get it open. I love this memory card. I think the quality of SanDisk is so much better than some of the other brands on the market. I used this Ultra SDXC UHS-I Card with my Canon camera. 64 GB is enough space for me. I record both pictures and videos and love that it provides up to 140 MB/s. Another great feature that I really enjoy is that this product is Water proof, Temperature proof, Shock proof and X-Ray proof. Exactly what I am looking for as I travel a lot and need to make sure that this card can withhold anything.

I have used Sandisk flash cards almost exclusively since 2003 and have only once had a failure requiring me to use Remo Recover to extract photos from a corrupted card. Thats a pretty good record, and I trust Sandisk more than any other brand to not crash on me when I am taking important photos. This particular card was purchased for use with a Canon 6D and Canon 60D. As a 30 MBs class 10, it has more than enough bandwidth to shoot 20 megapixel RAW still images in bursts of up to 10, and Video clips up to 1920x1080 at 30 Fps. These Canon DSLRs capture MOV video at a very high data rate, about 6 MBs, but this card can handle it, at least for clips up to 5 minutes long. These Canon DSLRs capture MOV video at a very high data rate, about 6 MBs, but this card can handle it, at least for clips up to 5 minutes long. If you shoot a lot of video from a DSLR, you might be better off with the Sandist Extreme, which is a 45 MBs card, but these are substantially more expensive. NOTE The 30 MBs rating on the card is READ speed only The Write speed is much less, about 10 MBsec, but this should be fast enough to keep up with my Canon 6D videos. When shopping for SD cards, keep in mind that the sweet spot in terms of PriceCapacity changes frequently only a year ago, the 8 Gb cards were the best value, and I expect that by summer of 2014, the 32 Gb cards will be a better value than this 16 Gb card. Another issue to keep in mind is that the larger the card, the more photos it can carry, and consequently, the more photos you put at risk should something happen to the card. A 64Gb card might be able to hold all the photos of an entire 2 week vacation trip, but do you really want to put your entire vacation on that one card What if the camera were to be stolen the last day of your trip I suggest that you might to consider using several smaller cards, like the 4 Gb or 8 Gb size and have no more than one day of photos on each card, stored separately from your camera pack so that you dont lose all the photos should that pack be lost or stolen. Of course, if you are downloading your camera cards to a laptop or backup storage each night, the loss of a large card isnt so much of a concern.
I liked this until I used it to shoot video. It does not run fast enough to catch enough frames, and the video occasionally skips. Also, if you are photographing in continuous shooting mode for creative purposes, this card is COMPLETELY INADEQUATE. Further, the 30mbs is too slow of a write time when burning the photo video files to your computer. I do recommend this exact card if you are transporting documents on it or will shoot occasional photos of flowers or products with it. For photographing people, however, I INSIST you use the Sandisk 45mbs AT MINIMUM. I actually use the Sandisk Extreme PRO or something like that now, which is 90mbs. SO worth the price difference for photography and video. Ill never go back to Ultra or Extreme again.
These are an important investment. If you dont invest in a quality, dependable SD card, you could loose important memories. I have about 15 of these cards, so I think its safe to say Id recommend them. I shoot portraits weddings The 64 is the most ideal size. Its also speedy I never get a lower gig then this. 128 is another great option These are such dependable SD cards and brand. They often times will go on sale at Best Buy, so keep your eyes peeled
I have used a few of these SDXC cards now, of varying capacities and brands. From my own experience and in talking to other photographers I have yet to hear of these devices failing. The smaller microSD format cards seem to be more prone to failure. The SanDisk Extreme Pro series are among the fastest, possibly the fastest. Be careful when considering which card to buy. SanDisk are typically more open about their write speeds. Some manufacturers make you hunt for the write speeds. The speed printed on the card label is almost always the read speed rather than write speed.
I just included the 64GB (oops, I'd said 68GB in that review) in my review of the 128GB SanDisk I returned (TOO much storage), but they're the same excellent quality I've always gotten in my ... at least 25 SanDisks since getting my digital SLR in 2004. These little cards carry very special photos; I recently realized that I take so many pictures because I don't'see' things in my head ... I can't close my eyes and call up an image. So my photos are very very important to me - to be able to remember all the special events/places in my life ... including 11 cruises - one around Greek ports, and a trip to Italy and France.
SanDisk has been my go-to for secure digital cards. I've had a few different cards from them and they never let me down. The Extreme PLUS SD card feels well made. It's not flimsy or cheap feeling. The little lock button on the side glides well and isn't too loose. I like that there is an area to write on the card to label it. The little notch embedded in the card makes it super easy to pull out of the reader using a finger nail. This is not typically required unless the card sits in a deep reader slot or perhaps if it got stuck. As for the speeds, they are consistent and in-line with class 10 cards. I used this card in my digital camera and it was able to keep up when doing multiple frames per second. I expect this card will last a long time and I can easily ...
