One of the pair works fine, the second failed before it even had data on it. It shows up as a drive but cannot be mounted and won’t take files.Thinking this was a fluke, I foolishly bought another set. Both worked fine, then one failed with data on it. It isn’t even recognized as a device when plugged in.I always thought SanDisk was a good name, but I’m doubting it with these apparent poor quality standards. It’s a shame rare electronic materials were used in something bound for the e-waste bin.

This is not the most recent version as described online. It does not have the SanDisk software specified in the description. It does have a different (I think earlier) version of the software. I could still use it but I had to find instructions online. SanDisk seems to have a bad reputation in terms of updating its software. I have had SanDisk flash drives for many years and I still find the password protected software frustrating to install but okay to use. I have not had problems with updated software. It still does for me what I want it to do. Obtaining a SanDisk with the newer software was not worth the inconvenience of returning this one. It will probably make no difference to my usage of it. But it is something that you should be aware of.

That's because flash drive and hard drive manufacturers show capacity using decimal whereas computers use binary so what the computer calculates is less than the what the manufacturer states. I still don't know why manufacturers do that since these devices are intended for use with computers BUT it's something ALL manufacturers do so no good bagging a particular brand for 'ripping you off'.2. Deceptive marketing. Even with the standard practice of using decimal values for storage capacity [ie 1,000,000 = 1 MB not binary) this is not a 64 GB drive. The drive reads as Capacity: 61,509,107,712 bytes = 57.2 GB. A true 64 GB drive should read like Capacity: 64,157,122,560 bytes = 59.7 GBThe Drives work - reformed them to NTFS so they can be used to store files over 4 GB. They are fine for most work. Not fast, but not really slow. They are useful for the price I paid,
A pretty solid performer; durable, reliable, and error-free. I have used it to back up several clients' systems. I use TeraCopy with verification when I copy or move files, and this drive has not failed.However, the slide that moves the case backwards on the USB stick is very annoying! Often I have to use my fingernail and some force to get the drive into the slot. I won't buy this type of stick again, but I will definitely consider SanDisk; I have been aware of them and/or using their products for 20+ years.

Not much to say about a Flash Drive. Perfect for transferring files that are too large to send via email or when a Cloud Service isn't an option.No surprises with the drive that I purchased. Removed the drive from the card, popped it into the USB port on my computer, formatted the drive and copied a set of files to send to an acquaintance.I should note that San Disk includes some security software with this drive. If you wish to utilize the security feature, move the files onto your desktop before formatting the drive.Overall verdict, a good choice.

Not much to elaborate upon, regarding this product in general. The red color is a welcomed in a plethora of pedestrian black colored thumb drives as it stands out! Especially when searching for one particular portable device. I’ve owned multiple thumb drives over the past 20 years, from various companies. Thus far none have failed. Though one’s experiences may vary. This particular item was on sale at a reasonable price, as it was a nobrainer to purchase it.
