Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind [Book]

A great book. No pages are missing. The print quality is also okay. The delivery was quick. And, the packaging was adequate.\nComing to the content of the book. The book is quite insightful on human nature. It makes you think about human nature from different angles. The language is not so simple but, if you stick with the book for 50 pages, you will like it.

Really bad quality. The paper is too thin, seeing through other pages; blur texts and diagrams. They are really harmful for vision I can tell as I’ve just had eye surgery and reading this hurts my eyes. I even doubt the authenticity of this book. I also tried to contact the seller who did not reply much with any useful suoport.

It's a great book. But the second hand copy supplied by World of Books was terrible. The cover of the book was greasy and stained. Looked like the last owner had a penchant for car mechanics, wotsits and the avoidance of personal hygiene. Didn't want to touch it. Manky waste of money.

This book grabbed my attention, almost like a game in the movie "Jumanji". You dig into it and get out only when your eyes begin to get tired. I found out about the “Sapiens” a couple of months ago when everyone began to post it in their social media. I put it on my must read list and forgot it. But because of this pandemic issue, I had plenty of time, and decided to order it. After reading a few chapters I totally understood why Obama and Bill Gates recommended it. All chapters are in chronological order, but each of them like a separate book about paleontology, sociology, religion, history, economics, psychology, etc. Definitely a must read book!

Deeper than history.

This is a great book. It says it's 'history' but that's an insult as it's more than that.History for me at its worse is just the gossipy genealogy and confused sex lives of about the 0.1% of people who were the psychopathic rulers of the past.This book is more like an amalgam of acute economic History and philosophy applied to anthropology.It always signposts Sound epistemological foundations, wide reaching scientific knowledge and humanities knowledge - especially economics.The author is witty, acute, incisive and succinct. Interesting anecdotes decorate Crucial insights well referenced into human development.This is A 'history' book for people like me who don't like stories of royal families with their lists of pathogenic offspring.

Hands down my top 5 favourite books

I bought this book feeling really excited and had great expectation from all the reviews and opinions I had read. And let me just say, Sapiens, really did meet these expectations.Not only did i love the content which it covered; evolution and the history of humankind, but the way it was written. I was really surprised too because I had never read a non-fiction before and sapiens was written in such a way that it sometimes didn't even feel like a non-fiction. Sapiens, The Historian's Opinion on Human History

This book is a great read, but if your looking for a scientific book, this isn't it. The book doesn't bother to back up many of it's claims and by doing so, comes off as heavily biased in some instances.If you would simply like to know what humans have been doing for the last 100,000 years, then this could be a great book. But, if you want to know the nitty-gritty of what constitutes what scientifically, you'ill be disappointed by this book.Unfortunately, this book doesn't try to prove many of the points it makes, it just says they're so and moves on with a few assumptions. You see, I knew this book wasn't written by a scientist almost immediately after picking it up. amazing

this is a different genra of read. have always been into military but this book, Sapiens is the most compelling book I have ever held. am now after a good quality hardback to put into my 'to keep' collection. anyone reading this read it. yes an amazing read. J
