Using with a new M1 Mac mini, needing to connect normal USB peripherals, like external hard drives and MIDI devices, and transfer files from my handy recorder. It powers my keyboard which also connects a trackpad and gaming D-pad and other devices with no issue.A slightly longer cord and an additional port at this price point would be a better value, but it works without issue.

This is perfect for adding photos from flash cards and USB drives since the iMac doesn't have any USB ports !! There are only lightning ports ! Geez. I can also recharge my mouse with this device which tucks nicely under my computer monitor.

Love the Satechi products. I have a few, using them on my macbook Pro. This one is a little different because it is slanted which I like. Easier to insert my sd cards. Never had an issue with any of their products.

I plugged in the usb for the mouse into the satechi device and the arrow had delays in moving across the screen . When I plug in the Apple USB port and use it... it work perfect! This is the second 3 USB port device I have purchased and just about done . I am very un satisfied .. maybe I could get my money back
I really liked the design, it looks good and well made and was going to satisfy my needs. However, after downloading the first SD card I noticed that it was not as easy to insert and remove the card. I downloaded two more cards and noticed that one of my cards was damaged in the contact area. All my cards are relatively new and used in a wide range of cameras and card readers and I never experienced a problem before. Hence, I returned to product and expect to receive my credit soon. I appreciate how the process was handled and I will consider to purchase item in the future.
Constantly disconnects drives, risking corruption of precious data and work. Absolutely NOT end-user issue. I have worked in the IT field for well over 10 years and know a faulty product when I see one. The internal sockets that house the USB 3.0 connections are not well designed, and were clearly sourced on the cheap in both design and build quality. If you value your work and data, spend more on a better quality product. I will say it's an impressive looking design and am sad it didn't work out for me.
I frequently use USB and SD Card Devices throughout the day; and, due to the iMac Pro’s inconvenient (and, difficult to see due to iMac Pro's darker, Space-Gray color) location of the Ports at the “back" of the iMac: The Satechi Type-C Aluminum USB 3.0 Hub & Card Reader effectively solved this “access” challenge, while, at the same time, providing an additional, outstanding, quality, and well thought-out (with its quality-constructed, Space-Gray Aluminum finish and Black Cord & Port trim) design element that, also, effectively serves to complement (rather than detract) from the iconic design elements of the iMac computer. And, its 45-Degree Angled Access to the Ports and SD Slot, in conjunction with its Quality, Rubber Base, prevents “sliding”— While, at the same time, when not in use, it allows the “rounded” base of the “Hub” to perfectly be "pushed-back" to the "similarly-rounded" back of the iMac Pro’s aluminum base—where, the Satechi Hub, then, transforms to being an additional, appealing, integral design element of the iMac Pro, itself.
Shipped and received very quickly. Product is exactly as shown and works perfectly with my laptop. Good quality and device works well with thumb drives and SD cards. The colour matches the looks of my laptop perfectly
I am so glad I found this product. And at the perfect price. It works perfectly and allows me to utilize my two USB external Terabyte drives and download my camera's SD card with a blink of an eye. If I could change one thing it would be to replace the miniSD card reader as I have no use for that, and replace it with another USB 3 port. Then it would be PERFECT!!
I was skeptical about buying this because the price was awesome but I wasn't sure if it would plug into my 2017 MacBook Pro. the description does say it is compatible for that type of computer and that turned out to be true! it's super convenient to have the little wire instead of the other versions that I was looking at which plug straight into it, because I can place the reader itself anywhere around my computer. it does get a little warm after about an hour or so but nothing major. it has a super sleek design that blends in really nicely with my space gray computer and it worked great when I plugged in a SIM card or a phone charger. highly recommend!
