The Tempus has proven to be an exceptional shoe for what I was looking for. I previously wore the ASICS DS-Trainer for nearly two decades. I'm a larger runner at 6'3", about 200 pounds averaging with a PR of 7:03/mile for a 13.1. Historically I preferred a more minimalist feeling. Now that I'm in my 30s, I had decided to switch things up to proactively protect my knees. So I chose the ASICS Novablast 2. Great shoe but problem was it was too cushy for my feet and therefore I suffered a pretty severe ankle injury after my first 26.2. As it also turned out, I realized I needed more of stability shoe due to my flat feet. My own ignorance for not realizing the ASICS DS-Trainer was already a mild stability shoe. I was fitted for it when I was 11 and only up until the past couple of years expanded my running shoe knowledge.Fast forward and my local running store (Fleet Feet) had me test out several options including the Kayano, GT-2000, Brookes Ghost among some others. It wasn't until I put the Tempus on my feet that I realized this was something really special. The Tempus has been exactly what I was looking for. Something that offered some stability, and can be used for easy runs or tempo. The fact that this shoe has a super foam is a statement and the start of what will hopefully become a new benchmark in the industry. I've used this on my assault runner (curved) treadmill and have logged over 50 miles on the road. So if you need some stability and want a fresh take on what a shoe in this category can offer, I strongly recommend the Tempus as an option. (I did need to to get a 1/2 size up FYI)Bravo Saucony. You've just brought in an 20 year+ loyal ASICS customer.

So far I have ran just short of 20 miles in these shoes and they are amazing! I ran on gravel, pavement, trails, and grass and could not tell a difference in what surface I was running on. The cushion is amazing, energy return makes me run faster than before even on easy runs, and they are super lightweight. I run 5-6 days a week to train for cross country and these are the perfect stability shoes. Not only that, but even though they are stability shoes, many runners who run in neutral shoes find themselves loving this shoe. So far these shoes have proven that they can handle any pace. I have done easy runs, base runs, long runs, strides, and flying 40s and they have been amazing in all of them. Finally found a perfect shoe which is light and provides just about required stability. I am 197 lb male running around 15-20 miles per week. I overpronate so wanted a stability shoe. I first tried ON Cloudmonster but while it provides great cushioning it does not provide any stability. Tried Hoka Gaviota 5 which again is a good shoe but extremely chunky and heavy. You can feel it while running. The Tempus feels amazing on the feet. Extremely light and provides great support for overpronate issue. Very very impressed!

I was expecting much more from the Tempus given the description and all the reviews. I started off running uphill with them and had the biggest grin on my face thinking "I'm running in a super shoe!". Then as I went slightly downhill my thought turned to "What the heck?". The foam seemed to compress and it just didn't feel good anymore..It's a quality built shoe, mostly, for sure, but for me the foam was not enjoyable. It compressed in a way that did not work with my strides. Plus there was something about the structure of the shoe that did not work with me as well. The traction on damp pavement was not good. It felt like tiny little slips on each footsrike. I compared it to another brand in the support category right after a several mile run and the other brand ... MoreI was expecting much more from the Tempus given the description and all the reviews. It felt like tiny little slips on each footsrike. I compared it to another brand in the support category right after a several mile run and the other brand was hands down far more enjoyable in most ways. The first thing I noticed was that the traction was far superior. No slipping at all. Also, the leg turnover was faster, the support better and the cushioning felt to be better engineered in all respects. The cushioning was very firm but soft even downhill.About 10 or so years ago the Saucony Omni saved the day for about a year when my formerly beloved brand discontinued models. So no hard feeling to Saucony. I will try Saucony in the future. In fact I have Saucony walking shoes, the Omni Walker, that are I believe the best in the world currently. Total quality, super stable for comfortable walking as far as you want to go. Look terrific.
First, I must disclaim I am not a runner! I wear Saucony for every day shoes because they are the only brand of shoe that I feel comfortable in for long periods of time. I typically wear Guide or Ride, but thought I’d give the new Tempus a try. They are super lightweight, which I love! However my love pretty much ends there. They’re so light, I can only wear them late spring to early fall. From Oct-April they are just too cold on my feet. As for fit, I find they are bit too tight at the ankle and too loose/wide at the forefoot. The tongue offers little to no cushion. Now for the feel. While they are very nice & cushiony, they’re too forward-springy for me. I feel like the shoe wants to push me ahead of where I want to walk. It actually took me quite a while to get used to this and I still trip over my own toes on occasion.I realize these are all qualities that would probably be great for runners! So if you’re looking for a lightweight, cool, spring forward shoe for your daily or competitive runs, these might be a great shoe for you! But for me, someone who just wants comfy, daily wear - they just don’t suffice. To end on a positive note, they are a great looking shoe! I get compliments on them all the time!
This is my first time writing any review for running shoes, and I try several each year. These shoes are really the best I've tried in a long time. I run around 30k per week, so more than many but not as much as some. I'm not fast but can push myself to 5k in 25 mins. I'm 48 and fit but I've had two knee surgeries and pronate quite severely to the point I've been given orthotics in the past, which I just hated running in. These shoes give me all the stability and comfort I need without feeling overly controlled. The cushioning is next level but not too plush. I'm really impressed. I wish I'd have discovered them sooner. I just gave away four other pairs of running shoes because I now don't want to run in anything else.
This is my 4th pair of Tempus. Tried them out when my local running store stopped stocking Mizuno Wave Inspire. They are lighter than the Inspire by a few ounces. They are a stability shoe that I use to run between 40 and 50 miles a week. Very comfortable and lightweight with breathable mesh uppers. Only compliant is heel counter is not too rigid and can fold over when putting shoe on. Requires you to make sure laces are sufficiently loosened before putting shoe on. New version is supposed to be coming out soon so I have been able to get them at $110 versus the normal price of $160 via mail order. Many local running stores do carry this particular shoe on a regular basis.
I just purchased my 2nd pair of the Tempus Wide shoes. I’m 65 and have been running for about 15 years. Shortly after starting regular running, I was introduced to Saucony Guides. I think I may have started with the original model, stayed with them as my only running shoes until I tried the Hurricanes. I liked the extra cushioning of the Hurricanes. Then in went back to the Guide 15. Local running store rep said that if I liked the Guide 15, I would love the Tempus. He was spot on.I really like the combination of support, with a bit more cushioning than the Guide, and the light feel of the Tempus. I have used it for long easy runs and tempo runs while training for a 1/2 Marathon. These are some of the best shoes I’ve owned in the last 2-3 years. I’ve progressed from the Triumphs, through the Hurricanes, and now to the Tempus. I moved on from the Triumphs due to needing more stability, but they were my previous favorite shoe. The Tempus’ predecessor, the Hurricane, was a very good shoe but these are a definite improvement. I’m a huge fan of cloud like cushioning and these deliver on that while also providing the necessary support/stability to alleviate/prevent any foot pain I’m accustomed to. These things are also super durable. This is my second pair, my first made it 480-500 miles over 6ish months while I dropped weight from 250-205lbs. The majority of those miles were on a treadmill and the soles still looked practically new after all ... MoreThese are some of the best shoes I’ve owned in the last 2-3 years. A new pair of Ons I recently purchased showed significant wear after the first 4 mile run. I’ve upgraded these to my outdoor shoe and have purchased a pair of Guides for future treadmill duty to change things up a bit. Saucony has really progressed with their stability shoes and I’m hopeful that their future iterations of these models will continue that trend. One request, color options that aren’t on a white sole/midsole. Preferably black, but I’m down for anything other than white. Saucony has been a huge blessing in my fitness journey, thank you.
I am a flat-footed runner (born this way) that tends to overpronate. In the over 10 years of running half marathons and marathons, I've struggled with shin splints, large blisters on the medial side of the foot, as well as knee pain. Because of that, I have been wearing supportive shoes for a long time. I bought a pair of Tempus after seeing that it is a shoe that is lighter, and speedier, while still offering support. The shoes feel rigid at first, and it took over 20 miles in them for the bounciness of the pwrrun pb to start shining. Also, because of the pebax foam, the shoe engages different muscles in my body, especially the calves. It may be that the softer foam affects my gait, and it took a while to get used to that. Once I did, the shoes became a lot of fun to run. I have used them for easy, long runs and for racing. I barely feel the support system in the Tempus, and believe people without pronation issues may also enjoy this shoe. They work well for everything. Actually, my other supportive shoes feel heavy when I put them on. I would say that the Tempus feels like a blend between the faster and bouncier Endorphin Speed 3 and the more supportive Guide 15/16 (though the support on the Tempus is different). In summary, the Tempus is a fantastic shoe for those of us who need a little extra support. It does take a while to break in and for your body to adjust to it (if you haven't had pebax foam shoes before). Once you do, it's fantastic.
