This Propagation set is 240mm Wide x 380mm Long x 180cm High and p rovides a moist environment for raising seeds or cuttings. It has no drainage holes in the base of the tray. Includes 24 compartment seed tray 2 x air vents for temperature and humidity control No holes in the base tray allows mess free watering Perfect for growing seeds and cutting all year round Line the tray with perlite to a depth of about 2cm. If using rockwool, these should be soaked for a few hours or overnight. Place rockwool or jiffy's into the perlite which will act as a wick to draw the water up to your cuttings/seeds. When roots show through the sides of the jiffy or rockwool, transplant into a bigger pot. Do not spray your cuttings if you are using a propagator, just keep the vents closed for the first week. If you foliar spray as well you can easily cause damping off (stem rot). Always use a rooting hormone like Clonex with cuttings and use a clean scalpel blade to slice off your cutting. U sing scissors can crush the cambrian (green outer skin of the plant) layer and cause rot. Plants are like people, they can get infected through cuts. I bought this as a fun way to teach my 5 year old how to grow things and it works soo incredibly well! Most of our seeds have turned into decent seedlings in only a week. My boy is so happy with the plants he has grown

Bought a few of these to kick-start the garden from seeds and cuttings, and they're working a treat on my window sill! My only criticism would be the fact that the little ventilation doors in the top come out of the channels easy when slid to the fully open position—a redesign with longer or better channels would be an improvement. Other than that, they're great for the money. I give the lids a tap every afternoon to release the condensed water droplets back down to the spoil, and find I only have to add water to the central compartments.

Sturdy, pretty good. However it needs holes for excess water to run out, otherwise it will stay in the green bucket and at the end makes the soil in black slots too wet. I have to manually throw out the excess water out otherwise thats not ideal for the seedlings. But you can always take a 2-3mm drill and make holes easily.

I've bought a couple of these over the past 2 years. I find them really good for propagating seeds, especially natives which can take a while to generate. Really good in retaining the moisture inside so I don't have to keep topping up with water, and they stack well.They do need careful handling as the lid is somewhat brittle. I wanted to buy some more and disappointed to not be able to source them from any local Bunnings stores. Please get them back in stock Mt Wellington!
Great little seedling starter kit. I have bought a few of these to help give seedlings a head start for spring/summer. They work well when positioned in sunny spots, like at the window or sun room.They are sturdy and hold up when exposed to the elements for long periods of time. Highly recommend this product if you live in regions where winter temperatures can hang around until October.
I am going to be growing my own microgreens and I bought this mini green house to put my sprouting tray inside. I made 2 little covers to go over the holes in the top to increase humidity and it works great. I have alfalfa sprouts in 6 days.
Fantastic little greenhouse to get my precious seeds off to a great start. Holds moisture and heat really well. The little sliders at the top are great to control humidity and start allowing seedlings to harden up. Other reviews saying that its flimsy - totally not as it's doing what it is intended for, I wouldn't handle it roughly or drop it but it's plenty strong enough. Found it holds Fothergills peat pots (50pk) really neatly which is a plus.
This box seems like a better option to grow my seedlings in as far as I'm concerned. The lid is sturdier and won't fly away so easily if I put it outside in the sunshine for a while. The plastic humidity control ventilators come of very easily but I wasn't too concerned as they can be slotted back in again.
The black seedling tray shrivelled up after only sitting in the sun for a few hours. Day time temp. was in low 20's with part shade. Only the green tray and lid are now in use.Similar to other reviews, the corners of the lid are pretty fragile and purchased unwarily with one corner cracked and chipped.
Works well, although I use a variety of slightly larger punnets instead of the dinky seed tray included as I find the included seed tray not deep enough for root growth for what I am growing. The Reko. Seedling tray works well - 2940614 item number
