I have used a lot of premium briefs. Was stuck on wool ones for a few years. Then have been experimenting all year to find replacement ( wool wore out quick ) Stumbled on Saxx. Don't love the huge logo on the waist. But honestly they are great. Wasn't sold on the pouch at first, it was weird, but when you get used to it it's great. Walking 1-2 hours no chafe or ride. Wish there were more parterns and bold colours like the parks project one! I now have 5 pairs. They don't keep smell. Dry fast. Don't get loose. Honestly magic. Also they are exactly my waist size which is nice.

My underwear drawer is 100% exclusively quest boxer briefs. It is the only underwear I wear.I am wanting to buy some new pairs, but ever since the change from the original, much more comfortable waist band, that was way less rigid and tightā¦I have bought a couple of the newer band ones, but just hate the fit compared to before.I have about 20 pairs of the original ones, and remain hopeful you guys will go back to the much more comfortable band.I am 100% sure that I am one of MANY MANY loyal longtime customers that would agree.

I work long hours on my feet in a factory and use these both there and while hiking/cycling for fun. Still experienced a bit of chafing with the ballpark pouch pro but the comparison with regular underwear is night and day. Combined with an anti-chafing deodorant for really long days and it's perfect. Absolutely worth the higher price tag. Relatively true-to-size but since they're compression fit sizing up would probably be comfortable too.

Very comfortable and breathable. With regular cotton I found that by the end of the day things could smell a bit funky, but with these I can wear them for 24 hours without issue. The supportiveness for 'the boys' is definitely the best solution I've encountered in underwear. The only thing to be careful of us make sure you order the right inseam size! It's hidden on the product page and isn't obvious. The 5" pair I bought to try are great, but after liking them so much I ordered another 6 pairs...that came with 3" inseams. I find the 3" rides up and pinches in away that the 5" doesn't.
The build quality of this textile can be hit or miss. These are made of a nice, soft viscose material which works well in the water and is the primary reason why I order this brand. These make great undershorts for surfing, diving, anything where you need to be in the ocean or fresh water. As a dryland item they compare favorably with other more expensive luxury brands. Occasionally I have an issue with quality control or wearing out. I think they are mass produced in Asia and thus the usual caveats apply. Keep in mind I'm pretty hard on my clothes. They also have some funky and cool stylings for those who are wearing them in situations where they will be more of a fashion item.
Somehow, when I ordered these, I had missed the photo of the "ballpark pouch". I expected the ballpark to be a fancy way of saying they were cut to be "contour fitted". When these showed up and I saw what it actually was, I understood immediately why Saxx are so popular. The Quest in particular has been perfect so far. Its made of extremely light, airy fabric. I'm a large guy and with thighs that rub against each other so I am definitely prone to chafing. But after wearing these around town all day, or on the trail, and even a couple times in a climbing harness, I haven't had a single issue with chafing. Any concerns I had about the pouch constricting my "comfort" have been alleviated, the mesh is just so light and comfortable, with non-irritating seams, that I ...Ā MoreSomehow, when I ordered these, I had missed the photo of the "ballpark pouch". And the fabric is primarily nylon, which doesn't absorb oil and resists that synthetic-stench that is so terrible on the trail. The anti-microbial treatment also helps with that, but everyone should do themselves a favor and choose nylon for synthetic base-layers, that will help more than anything else.My one concern, which only time will tell, is how durable they are? I assume synthetics will be plenty durable, and this is a concern that any brief of this style would be subject to, but none-the-less with such a lightweight breathable fabric Im curious to see what type of wear they can handle.
Had high hopes for these, but..First off.. these run larger than any other brand that Iāve bought to date (Calvin, cin2, 2xist, diesel, Hugo, under armor etc).. loose.. bunching and sliding down half way through the day. Even looser than the cotton pair I bought..Thought it might get better after a wash (hang dry) but it was worse. One wash, and theyāre starting to lose shape. And are even baggier. Ballpark pouch is neither here nor there. I never had a problem with chafing. But now that theyāre stretching out, the ballpark pouch is kinda annoying if anything. Material was extremely thin.. probably good for breathability (why I bought them). Intended to use them as an active/sports pair. But they basically provide no support. They stretch (not in a good way). They donāt bounce back. They just stretch, and get baggier as you move. The longer you wear them the baggier they get. I dont see them lasting long with the thickness of the material.I wouldnāt buy any more. Costs more than any of the other brands I own. But is nearly unusable. Iād just as soon go commando. And would only reach for this pair as a last resort.
I recently noticed that SAXX released the Quest boxer briefs in different colorways, denoted with the āIIā roman numerals, so I was curious as to whether they were different from the Quest boxer briefs I purchased about a year and a half ago. I purchased some in the āBlack IIā colorway to compare with my āBlackā colorway, to see if they were any different in terms of fit and materials.Fit: Iām a 29-31ā waist (depending on the circumstances) and wear a size S. The newer generation seems to fit slightly tighter in the waist if Iām not mistaken, but that might be due to stretching. While my original pair hasnāt stretched in the mid-upper thigh area, I feel it has stretched very slightly at the waistband. However, the stretching is nothing egregious like my ExOfficio Give n Go boxer briefs. My CK micro-modal boxer briefs havenāt stretched either.Materials: Due to the photos, my concern before purchasing these were that I could feel the āstitchingā at the top of the waistband, which would annoy me. However, Iām happy to announce that you canāt feel it, as it seems to be purely aesthetic, or they managed to terminate the stitching within the band (before it reaches your waist). The rest of the material feels similar, but not identical to my hands. The cloth material feels slightly thinner, but also smoother. The original hasnāt pilled and formed any holes yet for reference. Black II also looks much darker than the original Black in online pictures. However, in reality, I find that the difference is much less noticeable; Black II is about a shade or two (at best) darker than Black.Overall, the revision seems like a net neutral to me. Upon first impressions, thereās nothing that has changed to the degree where I wouldnāt recommend these anymore. I strongly prefer them to the aforementioned boxer briefs above, and wouldnāt hesitate to purchase them with Altitudeās membership discount or any sales they run.
The Sport Mesh briefs seem to be a good compromise between function and price. Although quite snug and a little small, they do feel very comfortable once you get used to them, which is very quickly. After a few days, you barely feel them. They are better at wicking moisture away than some other brands of activewear. I like the colours, and they seem to wear well after more than a few washes and with fairly heavy use. These are great for all day walking and hiking, and constant moving and shifting. They keep you comforatble and reasonably dry, and reduce friction and chaffing. The fit is a bit small, but I don't know if a size bigger will yield the same benefits, due to the support and slight compression. The waist band is so tight that it feels like it is cutting my skin. I don't get it. I have many pairs of Saxx underwear, and none of them have ever felt like this. I would say it was a product defect, but all four pairs are identical. The brief itself fits perfectly, but the waist band feels like it was made for an extra small instead of medium. I thought they might loosen up after a few wash cycles, but no such luck. These are headed for the trash.
