Scarpa Women's Force V Climbing shoes (39, black/grey): Beginners, alpine and indoor climbers alike will love the Scarpa Womens Force V! This climbing shoe for women is designed to be comfortable, as it is lacking both heel tension and asymmetry. This will allow you to wear the shoe for longer periods, so you wont necessarily have to take them off between routes. The leather upper makes for a snug fit. Plus, it hinders the development of odours and works together with the moisture-wicking mesh tongue to provide an optimal environment for your feet. The shoes best feature, however, is the Vibram XS Edge sole. The rubber is not only extremely tough and resistant to changes in temperature but will also provide you with stability on edges. So, youll have all the support you could need on holds. When youre done for the day, you can slip that shoe off in no time thanks to the hook and loop fasteners. Oh, and resoling is a breeze! If youre looking for a shoe for your very first climb or just want a more comfortable one for long routes, the Scarpa Womens Force V is a great choice!

Best neutral shoe ever

I tried on countless and countless pairs of neutral climbing shoes (mostly La Sportiva) none came close to how cushiony, supportive and comfortable the Scarpa Force V is. It feels like your feet are on a cloud. I love them so much - my only complaint is that the green / orange color combo looks too childish and bright for my liking. It's perfect for those with a wide toe box and difficulties finding shoes that aren't super narrow and cripple your feet with pain. I'm typically a size 7 and a size 7 fit me perfectly. After a couple of sessions of breaking in the shoes, I'm really loving these right now and will definitely buy another pair once these no longer hold up.

Great first pair of bouldering shoes! I had these for three years and just broke through the toe - so time to upgrade. After the break in period (about 4-6 wears) they were absolutely perfect. I love the velcro and was able to climb up to v5s in a bouldering gym. I cannot recommend this pair of Scarpas enough for eager women's climbing afficionados looking for a great, responsive pair of shoes. The rubber is thin enough in the toe you can really feel the wall and learn to edge / use small toe holds. After three years, the rubber and body of the shoes are just reaching end of their life. Definitely worth the price for the comfort and responsiveness these will give you while you learn to climb!

I’ve been wearing this shoe for approximately 7 months climbing 2-3 times per week. Immediately it was very comfortable and fit like a glove. The fabric inside the shoe is softer than a lot of other shoes. I’m able to wear this shoe for about 1.5 hours without much pain. My complaint about the shoe is that it has stretched out quite a bit within the last month or so. Even though it was pretty tight to begin with, it’s become about a half of a size too big. This makes it a lot harder to step on tiny holds or do heal hooks. Additionally, it’s not quite as stiff as I would like. As I’ve worn them in, they’ve become a lot less stiff. All that being said, I still love the shoe and would buy it again. Great beginner shoe!

I bought these on sale at MEC a couple of months ago as my first shoe after climbing in rentals. I have no regrets! Now that I've been wearing them for a couple of months and worn them out, I feel ready to write a thorough review. The ones I purchased were size 37.5. For reference, my street shoes are size 7 women's and I usually fit into size 36.5-37 in Scarpas, but I felt like the extra padding on this shoe made them fit slightly different than other Scarpas I've tried. The break in period was relatively short (~3 long gym sessions) and they became so comfy after that! The padding on the upper, tongue, and around the ankles feels amazing. The soles are stiff enough to offer support, but I can still smear comfortably in them. They fit my heel pretty well so I was ... MoreI bought these on sale at MEC a couple of months ago as my first shoe after climbing in rentals. I have no regrets! Overall, I had a great experience with these. I've now worn the edges down from use so I will be resoling these. I am hoping use them for longer sessions and outdoor climbing. I plan on keeping these for a long time.

Great comfortable shoe
7 February 2022

I previously had the Scarpa Force IV and liked it a lot so I went with the Scarpa Force V to replace it and it's great. It feels a little different than the IV but overall has a similar fit and it is super comfortable. I am using this as a warm up shoe and/or a multipitch comfortable shoe and it's perfect for that, and would be a great shoe for a beginner. This is not an aggressive shoe and isn't great for super hard boulder problems, but again, that isn't what I bought it for. Super happy with this purchase, they arrived quickly after ordering. Would recommend.

Great first shoe!

I've been bouldering casually (once every 1 or 2 weeks) for a total of 5 months but have going more frequently (2-3 times per week) this past month. I was tired of renting shoes so I invested in these! I've used them for 5 sessions (2ish hours each) so far and they have been holding up very nicely! I will say that the lack of rubber over the toes makes v3/v4 overhangs a little more challenging, but for what the shoe is built for, it does a great job at supporting and staying versatile. I also love the extra padding around the ankle bone for extra comfort. As for the sizing, I HIGHLY recommend trying them on in person before buying. I bought a euro 38.5 (US 7 1/3) and so far they fit snuggly (not sure if they'll stretch anymore). I tried on a 39 as well and they were still a little tight, but I went with the 38.5 in case they stretched more than a half size. However, if I were to buy my street shoe size without trying them on in store, they'd be way too small! For reference I am a euro 35 narrow in Birkenstocks, and a euro 36.5 (US6.5) in Vans.

Great for beginners
2 March 2022

I just started bouldering and these have been great. I have REALLY skinny narrow feet but these shoes fit perfectly. I was worried the Velcro wouldn't keep my shoes on but I was proven wrong. The straps adjust easily and wrap snuggly around the top of my foot making it very secure (I even tried just pulling them off but they still stayed on!)I rated this "good" and not "excellent" because I wouldn't think shoes with straps would cost this much but I also am new and don't know the brands and normal range of prices.

My favorite shoe
4 April 2023

I purchased these two years ago as my entry level shoes. I climb indoors 2-4x weekly and they have yet to need a resole. I purchased the vapor v thinking its more aggressive shape would help me progress in sport climbing and bouldering. I tried multiple sizes of the vapors and returned them all, they just didn’t get any more comfortable with wear, which impeded my climbing. I’m sticking to force v and will likely buy a back up pair. My feet are narrow, I wear a street size 8 and I wear a 39.5 in the vapor v.

Perfect Beginner Shoe
6 April 2023

I LOVE these shoes. They fit amazingly but definitely DO NOT size down! I am a street size 8 (39 in Birkenstocks) and the size that fit my feet perfectly in these shoes was size 41. There is absolutely no dead space in the shoes for me. It fits the heel super snugly and is only very slightly asymmetrical (my 2nd toe is longer than my big toe, so this is a plus) and I genuinely feel like these shoes fit like a glove. Better than the Sportiva Mythos (which I think is best for people with flat feet) and better than all of the other climbing shoes I tried. Plus, the color scheme is very cute. Genuinely a 10/10 pair!

Runs small and narrow and heel digs in
17 August 2022

I wanted to love these because the colors are great and the cushioned heel seemed smart but they were so painful to wear for me! I am an 8.5 street shoe with slightly wide width and I tried these in 39.5 and 40 and returned both. I wore the 40s in the gym and outdoor trad climbing but every time my big toe would go numb and the heel kept digging uncomfortably in back. I wore them about 20 times so they should have broken in by then. I tried other wide width shoes and eventually ended up on the Scarpa Helix lace-up in 40.5 and they are peeerfect!
