Counterfeit Cartridges?

I have always liked Schick products but had not tried the latest Hydro sensitive razor. This thing gives an incredibly close, smooth shave. Like, way smoother than how I usually shave. I do have concerns about the plastic waste but otherwise this is a top notch razor. This product is ideal for face and I'd trust it for shaving anywhere. There is a strip of moisturizing gel that will wear away over time, so between that and sharpness it is important to swap out blades semi regularly.I got this for my face but my girlfriend prefers this brand for her legs as well. The only reason this doesn't get a perfect 5/5 from me is the plastic waste. To be clear, this is an excellent shave. This review was collected as part of a promotion, and the opinions are my own.

Great razor for sensitive skin

I have extremely sensitive skin and have been looking for a new product to try that might be kinder to my skin when shaving. First, I love the feel and flexibility of the handle. It's a decent weight and doesn't feel flimsy. The blades worked really great. Super sharp and cut through like butter after not shaving for a few days. I found this product to be very comparable to other sensitive razors on the market, but with the added benefit of the aloe gel pools. I love aloe and the benefit on the skin, so this was a great product match for me. My face felt great after the shave without any razor burn which I normally have if I don't have the right product. Heavier is not better

I bought two sets of these razors for sensitive skin thinking they were the Schick disposable version. They are not. The handle is heftier, and heavier, and feels more sturdy in the hand. Sadly, the razor blades themselves - the essential reason why I bought the razors - are secured to the handle at two points by flimsy plastic knobs. How flimsy, I learned when I used my brand-new razor for the first and only time before I knocked it off my bathroom counter and it hit the floor, separating into two parts that would not go back together again. I had one use out of my new razor. I tried an unused, new set of blades (the kit includes 3, 1 on the handle and 2 spares). It works, and I use it now.My point is that a heavier handle does not cure a design defect that ... MoreI bought two sets of these razors for sensitive skin thinking they were the Schick disposable version. My old razor - the lighter weight Schick disposable razor for sensitive skin - lasted far longer, and withstood an occasional knock to the floor.I’m a senior on a fixed income, so I look to save money where I can. I also shave daily because it’s my preference. I wish I had bought the lighter-weight razors because they seem, incongruous though it may be, to be better designed and to last longer. I recommend the lighter weight version to you;don’t make my mistake.

Bought this razor at Target. It came with 4 blades with was nice for the $10 price. I used to used the Hydro 5 and 3 back when the line first came out and the handles were blue and gray, and before I switched to a safety razor and occasionally a Gillette Fusion or Mach 3. From what I remember, these were great razors, so I decided to try them again.PROS: Handle is great. I love the shape. Also, shaving was quite comfortable for the most part.CONS: Razor didn't shave well. I had to use several passes just to get to the same level of cut as the Mach 3. This really surprised me. I usually shave 2-3 times per week as I don't have thick facial hair, and my hair growth wasn't long at all, about 3-4 days worth. I usually shave 2-3 times per week as I don't have thick facial hair, and my hair growth wasn't long at all, about 3-4 days worth. Unfortunately, the Hydro Sensitive seemed to missed so much hair on the first pass. The Hydro does not rinse well. Swishing it around in the sink full of water barely cleared the blades. I kept having to rinse the blade from behind, and even then, it was hard to clear. The 7 gel pools weren't distinguishable from one another. I checked all 4 blades in the pack, and they were all the same, like the gel was smeared in a straight line across all the pools making one messy line of gel. I would call this poor quality control. These definitely did not look like the blades I remember and liked.OVERALL: I am definitely disappointed in the Hydro Sensitive Razor. I was looking forward to a good shaving experience, and aside from the great, classic handle, this razor did not deliver. The shave was not as good as other razors, and the blades looked cheap and lacked the quality of former Schick blades.

Reassessment of H5S razor

A number of weeks ago, I left a negative review of my shaving experience with the Hydro 5 sensitive razor/ blades. A Schick customer service rep contacted me after my review was posted and discussed what problems caused me to leave a negative review. He encouraged me to try the razor again . So I did.A totally different and very satisfactory experience with new blade. The razor glided over my skin, giving a nice clean shave, without irritation. The only reason I can think of with skin irritation with the previous Hydro razor was that my sensitive skin was irritated by how I was used to shaving over some areas of my chin twice or more with my previous razor to get the stubble. The Hydro 5 , the customer service persons told me, gets the clean shave the first pass. ... MoreA number of weeks ago, I left a negative review of my shaving experience with the Hydro 5 sensitive razor/ blades. So Robust!

First, let me start by stating, "I DO NOT LIKE SHAVING!" I never have. My first professional job was in banking. So years I shaved every morning because it was required. I don't know who or when exactly let "scruff" on a dudes face become popular or acceptable, but I was thankful for that. Now let me add, while I do not shave much, I also do not let my facial hair grow out of wack to where I look like a vagabond. I like my scruff to look kept and neat. With that being said, I am always on the lookout for affordable, comfortable ways to cleanup my look. When I had the chance to experience this "shave kit" by Schick, I was all aboard. What first stood out to me was how affordable the blades and handle (all included in what I ordered) were. I was honestly expecting this to be at lead 5 bucks more. Then at checkout, shipping was included, that made the purchase even more sweet.I ordered: Hydro® Sensitive Razor × 1My order came out to be a little over 10 bucks with tax and was shipped directly to my door, that's how easy the entire prices was.Of course, as mentioned above I rarely shave, I tend to get razor-burn when I do. Hence, why I chose to get a razor that is for people with sensitive skin. When the package arrived it was in a nice box with the company name printed on the outside in bold, black letters: SCHICK. Ir was sealed quite nicely and when opened,Was packed neatly. Now the product, the product was not what I was expecting. The blades are of real, solid quality. There are 5 blades each with skin guards. The trimmer, at the top, that is accessed through flipping over the bright green compartment. Which to me is something that keeps me from clumsily cutting myself. The frame of the blades are quite robust, which lets me know that I am most likely going to get a lot of shaves out of one set of blades. But, instead of me describing how I think it will work, I obviously put it to the test. Early today, I did shaved under my jaw line and did a pretty crappy job. So I will redo the shave with the new blade. Mind you, the earlier shave was done in the shower with soap. This redo will just have me using water and the blade. Results: upon wetting the blade I could feel the aloe on my skin. The blade were also quite gentle. I almost wondered if they were even there. The cuts were so smooth, I didn't feel any harsh drag upon my skin, and this was with using water and not shaveGel or soap. I went all the different ways you are not supposed to run a blade. I have a cow-lick that in order to get, I have to shave sideways. There was not one catch or cut from these blade. Every time I pulled the blade from my skin, I could see the allow folllow the blade. This let me know that there is in fact an ample amount of aloe for people with sensitive skin. They put the money where their mouths are. In all, while this was a short and simple shave, what I was expecting versus what I received was a lot better than expected. The ordering process from Schick website, the free shipping, the snug packaging and the appealing presented package... all the way to a quick, clean shave; this was definitely worth very penny spent. I would have to say, those other companies that sell men's shaving blades, well they better step it up. Schicks got it all and delivers on their word: "your day just got a whole lost smoother!"This review was collected as part of a promotion, and the opinions are my own.

[Rewarded Review] Best Razor for Sensitive Skin
12 March 2024

Firstly thank you Schick for letting me try this for my honest opinion.I'm one of those guys who usually shave once a week and regret each moment as there are bumps and nicks and cuts with each pass and end up wiping lot of blood. But this razor was probably made someone like me only.Throughout the shaving process, I didn't even feel any irritation or a cut. The gel pods are just too amazing and enjoyed my shaving experience in a long time. The skin protector on each blade is just revolutionary.A must have razor for sensitive skin people.

[Rewarded Review] Great Travel Razor
12 March 2024

The razer i find best for travel. The safety cap clips on nice and tight. It doesnt fall off right away in my dopp kit like the others do. I know its a small thing but im constantly hitting the blades of my open razer in my travel kit because the safety cap decided to slide off during travel. No more worries with this one. The front blades work great and give a nice clean fresh cut. The back blade is great for precision cleanup. As an added bonus the color scheme matches my travel kit perfectly.
