The unit is quite sleek and effective as a Rangehood, But I do find it loud.Replaced an old rangehood that would only run at full speed (lower settings stopped working) and the Lowest speed with the new range is as loud as full speed of the old.Would I recommend Yes I would, but with that caveat.

Pros: the light illuminates wellIt has a good amount of venting qualityeasy to installeasy to cleanCons: It is a lot louder than I was expecting, extremely louder than my last range hood. I duct ed our hood out under the eaves, noise comes from the unit itself
This unit was recommended to us by the sales person at the GOOD GUYS. We are so happy with it, it is the best range hood we have ever owned. We will be renovating our new home next year and we will be definitely buying a schweigen again.
Works very well and I love the overhead lights. It is a fantastic addition to my new kitchen.

Would've been helpful knowing that I needed an install kit before purchasing the rangehood.
Appears to be very well made with standard operating controls - previously had another brand with overly complicated controls with a microprocessor that got all clogged up with grease & consequently multiple problems - This one so far operates with no issues. Straightforward for installation with only one minor design flaw- 2 of the mounting holes are located right behind the lights so are incredibly difficult to fit the screws - that's the reason I give it 4 stars & not 5
Alot quieter than out previous rangehood. Fits perfectly in one cupboard without losing to much storage. Sits flush with overhead cupboards. Perfect
