Awesome indoor bike!

Back before the holidays I was in the market for an indoor bike. I liked the Peloton option but did not feel I would use it enough to justify the cost of the bike and monthly subscription ($45/mo or so). I had read many reviews on this bike as an alternative (dupe?!) and then pulled the trigger on an amazing deal during Best Buy’s 25 days of deals- $499!I’ve had it now for a little over a month and have no complaints. It’s a solid built bike supporting my 6’3” 200 body. The seat and handlebars are adjustable, both height, as well as front and rear directions. This allows for a customized fit. We will see if it stands the test of time, but so far so good. Couple important differences in case you are weighing this versus a peloton bike or one of the other competitors. It will not display power (a downside vs the actual peloton) but I think you can download another app to provide that information. Just hasn’t been anything of great priority for me. You cannot compete on the leaderboard if that is something of interest to you. It was not to me. Multiple people have written about the discrepancy between the resistance levels on this bike versus what is called out by peloton instructors. There are some charts out there showing the appropriate Level on this bike for a various peloton resistance with this bike being the lower of the two. Honestly, I just dial in to the peloton resistance called out. It may be a little harder work, but in the end, not a bad thing!Overall, I am thoroughly enjoying the bike and highly recommend!

Some people have a problem with the fact that cadence isn’t shown as a digit, but a bar graph on the top of the display. Please note, even if the design did work and my knees weren’t an issue (LOL), the holder is too narrow. Most of my water bottles don’t fit into the slot, including the one in the pic. This issue cost Schwinn a star (4/5) in my overall rating, as hydration is as important (if not more) as the smoothness and flexibility of the ride. I would have taken 1 1/2 stars off if I could have. SCHWINN has to do better.

Great value for indoor bike
10 January 2023

I am new to indoor cycling and this checked all of my boxes. In my newbie opinion, it's a solid bike at a nice price point. It includes a subscription for one year to JRNY. This app has helped me utilize the bike in very diverse ways and eliminates the monotony while also adapting to my abilities.Bluetooth capabilities, resistance and size adjustability all meet my needs. Plus, it's a really quiet bike and easy to move if needed. I've also found maintenance pretty easy to perform. Finally, the service staff at Dick's was very helpful. I bought the last one of this model at their store and it was missing some features like bluetooth and dumbbells. However, the Dick's staff contacted the manufacturer and these were mailed to my home.

Just a spin bike! - Not suitable for Zwift although advertised it is.
30 August 2022

Purchased this bike as it was advertised to be a "plug and play" solution for 3rd party Apps such as Zwift. Although the bike is well made it simply is not suitable for this application. The power output (watts), cadence, RPM and Calories burned are far too inflated and are completely unreliable for use. When using with Apps such as Zwift this results in other riders flagging you for "cheating" when you are barely breaking a sweat - very frustrating and renders the bike basically pointless for online training! I would recommend you save your money and purchase another brand if you are looking for a spin bike that doesn't connect to 3rd party apps or look at another brand completely should you wish to train/ race online. In summary, a glorified $1400 spin bike that simply doesn't do what it's promoted as doing, save your money.

Love this bike except the seat
26 July 2022

I have used it for few days now. It’s a solid bike. Good, sturdy, decent metrics on screen for an exercise bike in this price range. Definitely no regrets and plan to use it for a long time. The reason I gave 4 stars is the seat. No matter what website you visit, you will always see the negative reviews about the seat but the rest of the bike is awesome. Seat is the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever sat on. After first day of use my bottom was in pain for 2 days. Lol. Then I started looking online for a cushion or better seat. Until it’s delivered, I’ve folded a towel and made it really soft but still hurts because the seat is way too tiny and way too hard. Other than seat, you will definitely love the bike. I assembled it myself in about an hour. And it’s super easy. Most of it is pre assembled so you’ll have to put together some small pieces.

Quality Bike

If you are thinking about buying this bike trust me & BUY IT!!! Quiet ride and Quality equipment! Assembly was very easy! Took my husband about 40 minutes & he's not a big "I'm going to put this together guy!" Lol! He REALLY wanted to get this together for me. I have not been able to get my cycling on since January 2020 due to the pandemic! Previously purchased other equipment & NOTHING compares or works like this baby! I'm 5'3 so I did not experience issues w/ my legs or knees hitting anything. Everything was extremely easy to adjust. The seat everybody is complaining about is like the average seat on any cycling bike including ones in gyms. I don't really stay sitting long so not a bother. Prior to pandemic i was clocking in almost 24 miles in 50mins. Today after being off a cycling bike for over 2yrs I was able to get a little over 10 miles in 27 minutes which considering everything I have going on (medically) I am not beating myself up about it... That is how smooth the ride was on this bike! Then i was definitely excited my husband caught this on deal of the day for $499! So a GREAT purchase for a steal of a deal was awesome! Excuse the pictures but I had it setup next to my Elliptical & I'm not trying to advertise that!

Run and ride: the new norm for me
24 January 2023

I am in my mid sixties and have been running for 45+ years. I love to run and enjoy competing in eight mile trail runs, but alas my knees lately have begun to give me problems. I have at times had to stop running for a few months to give strained tendons and ligaments time to heal. I would take brisk walks instead but it just doesn't get my heart rate up to the point I am used to. So I decided to order the IC4 and it has been great. It is so much easier on my knees and I believe it has actually made them stronger. I can tailor my workouts to suit my needs which means getting my heart rate up and making my leg muscles stronger. I don't know how accurate the heart rate monitor and calorie counter are, but they give a rough estimate as to what is going on. Spin to win!

Having used spin bikes in various spin classes, this bike matches and excels to the typical/standard spin bike. I have been using my spin bike several time a week for months now and really enjoy it! It is a fantastic deal when you get it on sale on one of the bestbuy deals of the day. This is an excellent addition to your home gym, or as a single piece of workout equipment.Bike Assembly: The assembly was easier than expected and the instructions were clear. One downside to the bike I received is the electric readout panel shows distance in km and has the option to change the readout to mi, I haven’t been able to make that change. The only button that works for the readout is connecting the Bluetooth for the HR monitor. Honestly I prefer connecting the electric display to my iPad. Through the JRNY app I get an accurate reading for my cadence, distance and the many fun and a variety of rides available. There is a port to connect an iPad, or other device to connect to the JRNY app. The JRNY app is free for a year (I’m planning to try out the peloton app for comparison soon).Saddle: There was a short break in period of a few rides for saddle comfort. The saddle is relatively comfortable right off the bat, not too soft not to firm. I have noticed that the stitching on the saddle is a little off but not enough to make a difference to me.Heart Rate Monitor: The heart rate monitor is a nice touch. I used to use my Apple Watch, but a few weeks into using the JRNY app I decided to use their Heart Rate Monitor. It connects through the app.Critiques: I am a little on the short side and have the bike set at the smallest settings. I would say riders 5’2” or taller would be the range.

Works great once properly calibrated
25 August 2022

The bike is well-built and easy to put together. However there is an extra step, not described in the manual, that you may need to go through to get resistance and power numbers that are plausible (if not necessarily bang-on accurate).A lot of discussion online notes that the power numbers out of this bike tend to run (way) high, but at first I actually had the opposite experience. Out of the box, I found that the Level on my display was stuck on 0 even after a few solid turns to the right. After doing a 45-minute climb ride my average power (as recorded by the third-party QZ app) was reporting as less than 80w, where I knew it should have been closer to the 180-190w range.Searching online, it appears that the resistance on my bike was not properly calibrated ... MoreThe bike is well-built and easy to put together. There is a simple procedure to recalibrate it, but it can only be done three times in total (where I suspect that factory is #1). After doing the calibration my level is no longer stuck on 0 and, more importantly, the bike now transmits much more plausible power numbers (though I have not yet had a chance to check them against power meter pedals).
