My cat is a 3 year old BIG boy. He is built very large and enjoys his food. I had been feeding him Cat Chow since he was about 1 or so, and I wanted to give him something a little better for him. He loved the Hills wet food that the vet gave him once, so after doing some research I decided on this brand of kibble for him. To say he is obsessed is an understatement. He loved the Hills Science cat food and runs to the bowl everytime it gets filled. I have also noticed his fur is much softer and he just seems to be healthier overall. I can not recommend this product enough!!

Bought this formula to transition my 1yr old very active cat away from dry kitten formula. It has a round shape that is similar to the kitten variety and an excellent calorie count for my young cat. However he seems to prefer eating the senior variety I buy for my older cat. Science diet dry food seems well made and nutrients for my cats.

The first two bags I received of this food were normal and kitty approved! The third bag I just received is grainy and powdery? I don’t know how else to describe it. I have attached pics. Not sure if it’s an older batch or what? But my kitties will not eat it like this and for the price of this food you think the quality would be consistent. Not sure what to do now, as Chewy wants me to send back the 16 lb bag for a refund. Even if I do that, and I reorder will the bag be grainy again? May have to go on the tedious hunt again for another brand. /:

The fish oil smell is very strong! I wish pet food companies would not add fish oil. Research fish oils- it can quickly become rancid and causes harm when rancid. Fish oil can even be rancid in the store before you buy it. It should never be added to pet food as the food is made to sit for long periods. I normally throw pieces of dry food for my cat to chase, but I don't want this odor in my home. I bought this product decades ago - when fish oil was not used. I would like to see the chicken % increased and the fish oil removed.
We adopted a new cat that had been found in a cat colony and was rescued and then she was adopted from the shelter. She was then left at the shelter a few months after being adopted and the owners said they no longer wanted her...while being fostered she was fed this food and when I adopted her, they gave me a bag to take with me. Apparently, it is delicious because my other cat who was eating Purina now only wants this food. So, 4 stars because it is expensive and I have 2 cats eating it and not wanting anything else.
I know kibbles get a lot of bad rap, but I believe in balance. I give my kitties a variety of textures so that they are accustomed to a variety of food. Hill's is a good brand and I like the variety of formulas. Mine are all indoor and I rotate this into their kibble line up. Good digestion. Good bowel movements in return. 4 stars because the ingredients can definitely improve. Just a side note, the plastic bags are not the strongest. Be careful where you store the bags. I had laid the bag onto some plastic treat containers (greenies) and the bag ripped.

This food made my cats vomit almost daily the whole time they were on it. Both of them. And they have never had an issue like this ever. My male would have an occasional hairball every few months but this was weird. I thought since it was a switch I'd give it time. A month later I ended up taking my girl in because she wouldnt stop vomiting. Not just a pile of morsels but bile a couple times immediately after the food came out. The vet said she was fine. Wasted money there. I took them off this hills and put them on Rachael Rays just to test it and sure enough the vomiting stopped.
