My guinea pigs used to use Oxbow. I found this to be the healthiest option but guinea pigs don't seem to like it. Sunburst is a guinea pig favorite but they pick out the sweet treats and make a mess of the rest of the food. Timothy brand was split between 2 of my pigs not liking it and 1 of my pigs only eating this brand. This Science brand is great! All my pigs like it, it's cheaper, and so much easier to scoop and clean up spills

At our rescue, another foster told me that all piggies love this food, so I ordered a bag to try it. And oh my! My piggies sat there solemnly munching and just purring like:”wow, this is sooo good!” They never ate much pellets, but they polish these off! And they’re healthy!

I feed all of my guinea pigs Supreme Selective. For babies through a year old to pregnant sows - they receive a unlimited amount of pellets plus alfalfa hay. For my 1+ year old pigs or older boars, they receive about 40-50 grams per day AND unlimited Timothy hay. Their teeth look amazing, skin and coat has improved dramatically from our old brand we used. Palatability is 10 out of 10 as every pig loves it. Bonus: digestibility is an average of 75% better then all the other pelleted feeds on the market - being extruded feed instead of compressed into a pellet like the industry standard ensures more nutrients are absorbed. Truly a quality feed and I very much recommend!

for a young Guinea less than a year of age, alfalfa is a good choice of hay pellets because of the high protein it contains. But when you add the beat pulp and the wheat middlings that are high in the ingredients list. It's a terrible ingredient. The peas are fattening increasing obesity in your Guinea pig. Overall WHEAT IS TERRIBLE FOR YOUR GUINEA PIG. The only thing they did right was making alfalfa meal the first on the ingredients list. Don't waste your money on a poor quality hay that will cause problems for you furry little animal and your wallet. But get a high quality pellet that's going to keep your Guinea pig healthy. KMS Hayloft pellets is so far the best for providing the most high quality pellets (and it's so much better than what you pay for). Dodge the bullet on buying this feed. Your furry little loved ones will thank you.
We shopped around and tried various foods for our two guinea pigs. We finally settled on this product as it was the best compromise of quality and price. The ingredient list provides them with what they need. They eat it quickly and love the food. And we simply supplement vitamin C with treats to boost their levels. I recommend this food those those who live on a budget but also want their guineas to have quality food.
This product seems really nice! Smells fresh, looks fresh, and my very picky piggie loves it! I’m actually shocked at how quickly my Guinea pig started to enjoy the new food. Great purchase!
I don't know what it is about this specific brand, but I've never seen my guinea pigs get so excited over pellets. They usually eat Oxbow or Kaytee. We've tried a couple different brands in between those to get a sense of what they do and don't like as a herd, but THIS brand in particular is like the equivalent of catnip for guinea pigs. I mix it with their Oxbow pellets or use it as treats now. Maybe it's the dandelion or fennel?
The boys love these pellets and have been eating themsince about 3 weeks old, now 3 years. I forage daily on my farm so they have a well balanced diet and are veryspoiled. The Selective pellets are a reliable and nutritious supplement to the hay and forage. I keep them in the bag stored in a container in order to keep fresh. A bag lasts me about a month in the summer since their diet consists mostly of fresh orchard grass, about 3 weeks in the winter for 2 piggies.
Very good pellets, my piggies absolutely love them, and they have vit C. These pellets with the 'Burgess Excel Dandelion & Marigold Feeding hay' are an excellent combo for healthy piggies.Feed 80% hay (should be a few handfuls a day per pig), 15% pellets (50g per gay) and 5% veg daily - cos lettuce, romaine lettuce etc (NO iceberg lettuce), green pepper, carrot etc, kale and parsley and other high calcium veg in moderation..Stick to that for healthy, happy pigs!
I have no idea why my guinea pigs are so obsessed with this specific brand of food. It's like they have to have it so badly. They've even tried getting into the food bin to access it. I usually feed them Oxbow, but with the delays in shipping with Chewy - and limits on purchases due to the pandemic - we've had to make due with Bonanza & Fort-Diet.They (piggies) obviously ate it (the "lesser quality" foods) compared to what they're accustomed, but the reaction to Selective Diet has been insane! They even like it as treats. So, my friend - who's in recovery after leaving rehab - jokingly described them as being like pre-recovery piggies. *facepalm*
