Creamy oats and very filling

Received this free to review. Have tried different brands yet this is definitely the best one so far. The oats cooked quickly leaving deliciously creamy porridge even when made with only water! We cooked on the hob as don't have a microwave (it kills all the nutrients). Also made a nice rhubarb crumble with these today. Tasted delicious. Going to try savoury recipes with these oats next!

Great Porage (Porridge) Oats

These are great OATS. I've experimented doing them in the Microwave. 2 minutes at 800W, 1 minute 30 seconds on 700W, 1 minute on 520W. Leave stand for 1 minute. Perfect Porridge, add sugar and a touch of milk. Great start to the day. You just need to decide how much water you want to add to the porridge, and stir a couple of times. No need to cover.

I won't eat any other porridge/porage
28 November 2024

this is my favourite porridge and I will not eat any other. Its just the best. Although in the last few weeks I have been adding shredded wheat, crushed up, into my bowl...twice day for breakfast and part of my mid day meal. This magnificent porridge is the King of Porridges and is part of my routine day. Buy it and try. Shredded wheat is optional of course

Tasteless

I'm really surprised at the amount of good comments here, this has to be the worst porridge ever.My mum used to say in the 80s that this porrrige was rubbish and she was spot on,Years later I eventually bought it and it's absolutely disgusting with a rubbery texture. I am making it right as my budget oats and stores own oats are delicious. However I must say that Scott's were doing an old fashioned oats version which was larger oats and those were absolutely delicious

Terrible
25 September 2024

I eat quite a lot of porridge for enjoyment and health and thought Id try Scotts as remember it from childhood. Unfortunately the worst porridge I have tasted. Apologies to Scotts but truly awful. Like eating cardboard. I eat both non organic (like Quakers) and more expensive organic ones. Quakers are probably a similar price point but so much better. Really disappointing. I actually threw the box out after the first go.

The best Porridge
24 July 2024

I remember eating lots of this delicious porridge during cold winter mornings before going to school, and the slow release oats kept me from feeling hungry all day? Scott’s make fantastic porridge and I’d say they’re easily the best on the market. Give them a go. If you like porridge, you’ll love these!

my usual oats to go
5 April 2024

got this as a free sample for a review. I used to buy them regularly anyway, and this is good old fashioned rolled oats. But I changed to organic ones recently after reading oats tend to keep pesticides a lot. wish this brand could keep this quality and being organic.

usually great but

The last box i ordered was inedible. Usually this makes lovely creamy porridge in the microwave, 2 mins and done. I dont know if it was a bad batch or it got mixed up with a chunkier version but this would not cook through. Like eating hot raw oats, ugh.
