It's both soft and firm, easily adjustable, and a good shape and size. It also wasn't noisy like so much inflatable gear is. The inflating and deflating mechanism is brilliant. I don't know how it holds up over time, but it is amazing and I hope it holds up. I will update it after I've used it for longer because it looks like there could be sustainability issues based on other reviews.

I love a great pillow to have a solid and restful sleep but out in the backcountry, finding a great cozy pillow has been challenging until I can across the Aeros Sea to Summit. #gamechanger! Takes about 20 seconds to fill, has a soft cover and is indented in the center to comfortably cradle neck and head. Even with a sloped or rocky surface, your head rests securely and comfortably. No more deflated pillows or pillows that take up hall the pack. This little gem fits in your pocket, weighs virtually nothing and deflated in less than 10-15 seconds and rolls right into the tiny stud sack. A+++ . So far so good! We’ve tried blow up pillows in the past and they always seem to get holes or deflate but decided to try again as the clothes bag wasn’t cutting it. Hopefully the double valve should go a long way in keeping it from leaking because it’s not cheap. I don’t mind paying for good gear and am hopeful that this falls in that category. I will say, having a real pillow that can easily inflate or deflate to the desired firmness makes a difference in a good nights rest. My husband and I both have a system for keeping it from sliding off the pad which is also helpful. I add it to my clothes bag (inside out is fleece) and he has a silk liner on his pad that he can put under the flap. We tried it out backpacking last week and are very satisfied.

Defective item
23 October 2023

The pillow was defective, seemingly a design defect. It would not stay inflated overnight from the get go, and got worse with time. After the 5th night, I immersed the inflated pillow in water and was shocked to see air bubbles leaking out THROUGH THE FABRIC on the lower side, not from a seam or the valve. The fabric had no signs of wear since the pillow was barely used.

Great pillow, received damaged

I use this pillow half inflated in my hammock. I carry this pillow for multi-day wilderness backpacking trips (up to 7day trips). The pillow is comfortable and wide for restless sleepers to move around. There is a lot of lift available to support my head as a side sleeper with wide shoulders (I am 6'3" tall). This is a reliable pillow for long distance hiking and light weight. Folded up into the stuff sack, it is smaller than my fist. Inflating and deflating is pretty easy. Getting the last bits of air out of the pillow while folding it down is a little tricky, but once you get the hang of it, stores away pretty quick.Don't leave it partially inflated on the flight, it'll pop in your sleep. :(You might be asking why I marked this 3 stars, here is why...I was so ...Ā MoreI use this pillow half inflated in my hammock. Unfortunately when shipped to my house, I opened the package and the stuff sack was already damaged. S2S inserted a hard paper advertising booklet into the stuff sack along with the pillow. The hard paper crammed in there rubbed a hole right through the stuff sack. Disappointed to spend ~$45 on a hiking pillow, and receiving it damaged because of advertising greed.

Great value and support.
27 August 2024

Best camping pillow that I've had! Great head support and easy to inflate/deflate. The top curve helps it stay in place in my sleeping bag hood and the bottom provides more lower neck support or my side sleeping. My head is not OVERLY cradled so I can easily roll without my head rolling back into diagonal seams. Low weight is great for the lower base weight.

It's About A Lot More than Sleeping

Forget about backpacking and camping - I never do either. I use this pillow 1) as lumbar support in cars, trains, planes, etc. You can inflate it to just the right size for comfort. 2) As a book or device rest on my lap or plane table while I'm reading 3) As a headrest while reading in bed 4) As a back rest while meditating in a chair (I'm lazy: it supports me when my back muscles get sore from sitting up straight. It might also work for the Seiza position.)The one-way valve allows you to inflate it until it's just right for lumbar support, which might only be a breath or two, while the main valve allows for quick deflation. It fits into a tiny stash bag, the size of one of those small nylon tote bags, which is what I'm looking for when I'm on public transit or ...Ā MoreForget about backpacking and camping - I never do either. I have attached the bag to the valve assembly with a tiny s-biner so that I won't lose the bag.

Light, Comfy backcountry pillow

Light (81g on my scale), large enough for a side sleeper and for some reason I don't experience the "bouncing head" sensation with this pillow that I've had with at least 4 other inflatable pillows. I don't use a Sea/Summit pad, so I can't comment on the Lok "felt" system that supposed to keep this pillow in place on compatible pads, but it's captivated and fits pretty well (not perfect) in my REI Magma 15 men's sleeping bag hood - at least sufficient to sleep through the night. My head never got hold on the last 2 weekends' 25 and 30deg nights, (but then again it's inside the down hood and I'm using an Big Agnes AXL insulated pad so I'm sure that's part of it's success). Side Sleepers buy this

I own five pillows for backpacking, tried to find the one, well this so far is it. At first I didn’t like it a whole lot as its really wide inflated, it seemed unnecessary in wide at first. After using it I see why its so wide because thats one reason its so comfortable. Best if used fully inflated as it adds more than enough height for a side slipper. Your head wont be hanging low. Its so wide the weight of your head is distributed well and it does a great job not feeling like your sleeping on a inflated balloon like some pillows. The ā€œdimplesā€ also do a great job of adding comfort and not adding pressure points laying on it. Its light enough I don’t feel bad as a luxury item in my gear as a pillow of your tenting is so important for good sleep.I am exclusively a ...Ā MoreI own five pillows for backpacking, tried to find the one, well this so far is it. Useful while it lasted

I used this on a good amount of camping trips over the years. It worked best for me when it was 3/4 inflated for my comfort. Fully inflated wasn’t as comfy and felt kinda awkward. I love that it’s lightweight and compact for backpacking trips but like others have mentioned, it leaks or gets a hole and is useless. I just discovered mine after testing it out before an upcoming camping trip. I suppose that’s the risk when you buy something inflatable, although I can’t say how competitions compare since I’ve never had a pillow like this before. Hopefully there’s other options that are a little more durable!
