Sea to Summit Airlite is an ultralight, compact towel made for activities where low weight counts. The Airlite fabric is 50% lighter than the fabric of the Pocket towel model. Like all their towels, it is made of microfleece, which absorbs up to three times its weight. The low weight of the material means a larger surface area, and both together result in the fastest drying towel. Hang it on your backpack after use and it will dry on the way home. The edges are laser cut, unlike classic towels, which have thick protective seams on the edges. That's why it's even easier to store it in a small pocket on your backpack or bag. The storage bag is fastened with a button and can be easily removed during use. If you want to hang the towel, simply clip it again and use the storage bag as a hanger. The bag and the towel are color coordinated.

VERY light weight, which is what I was looking for, but the consequence is that there's just not enough "stuff" to soak up water. This is not any defect on the part of the towel - it's just the compromise between weight and function. I have the "hand size" which was inadequate to dry a post-swim body + medium length hair. Wringing to enable further drying was pretty ineffective. I would still purchase this - just need to lower my expectations for what a "UL" towel can accomplish. Bonus - it really IS light/thin enough to use as a sun-protecting scarf or head-wrap.

This is a great towel. It packs down into a small package but has superb capacity to dry things. I have used it to dry my feet when crossing streams and dry the floor of my tent when I had to set it up in the rain. It wrings out well for continued use and drys quickly.

Packs smaller than the inflatable Aeros pillow, can easily fit inside any toiletries travel kit, is a little smaller than the same size Drylite towel, and very light weight. The first couple times I felt like I had to wring it out half way but it seems to get better with use and after a wash/dry cycle. Since it's somewhat "sticky" when you try to dry it's hard to pat yourself dry like a regular towel, I think the strategy is to let it roll and ball up to dry yourself off. Then wring it at the end to increase the already fast dry time. Normally I don't bring a towel camping, unless I am car camping or just traveling and will be taking showers. This is great for a carry on bag, and then a drylite towel in checked luggage when you get to your destination.

I have a bunch of these in several sizes so I decided get a smaller one for backpacking. It's so multiuse from wiping the sweat off my face to drying my equipment. Absorbs lots of liquids and love love the quick dry feature. Best part is it's small and portable.
This is my second AirLite Towel. Purchased the Small to carry as an EDC. It is the size of a full hand towel (larger than a face towel which would be their XXS). I say for emergency use since it is light, dries quickly, and compact with its own stuff sack, but the material is rougher and less absorbent so you may not want to use it on a regular basis. It is good for its intended use.
This towel is large enough to be able to dry my back and so tiny and light. Dries pretty quickly. The feature I don’t like is the little button that attaches to the inside of the bag it came with. It’s weird to have the bag attached when using the towel but it isn’t something I can attach to my pack for the towel to dry while I hike. It does not interfere with the usefulness of the towel.
I bought this towel on a bit of a whim, just the small size. I've never regretted having it and have used it for so many things. I've used it to wipe out my mug when I backpack, I've used it to hold ice to a burn, I've used it for washing myself, drying my hands off, wiping condensation or rain off my tent... Basically anything you can think of to use a small towel for, it's awesome. It washes very well, dries super fast and I have people commenting all the time how cute the little stuff sack is that it comes in, ha ha! (But seriously, so packable). The only issue is you have to keep the stuff sack in your pocket when it's not packed or you'll lose the little sucker! The towel does snap to it though for easy hanging! It's also very durable. For all the abuse I put it through, there are no signs of wear. I primarily keep it in my food pack now, but I think I will be adding another one or two in different colors to my standard equipment this year, they're so darn useful.
Love love love. I bought the XL for myself and my husband. I was skeptical at first because they didn't look or feel like they'd dry a dinner plate after being washed. BUT they worked amazingly. Dried my whole body and didn't leave my crazy curly hair a sopping wet mess. After, we hung them up at camp and they dried quickly. They pack down small and they're incredibly light. Well worth the cost and I intend to purchase more for gifts for other campers in my life.
I got this Airlite towel in S size to use for travel and camping, and it has exceeded expectations - nice texture and feel, very quick-drying and very versatile - I use it to towel dry wet clothes and as a dish cloth in addition to using it as a towel. You can actually use it to properly towel dry yourself, it's very absorbent! And it's TINY in size - perfect to toss in your bag just in case.
This product packs super small, which is nice, even though it was the largest towel of its kind. It dried super-fast- could hang it in the Jeep with windows closed and it dried super-fast. It was large enough for a 6'4" man (who is pretty lean), and in a normal camping environment with a light breeze, it seemed to be dry in an hour. This product will definitely replace my MSR camp towel, which is way bulkier but yet has a smaller footprint. The fabric is weird and takes a bit of getting used to. It is so light that it feels like it's going to tear, but it's sturdy enough. I almost like the pocket towel fabric better, but like the lightness of the airlight. It's certainly a trade-off.
