I've had this sleeping bag for over 3 years (still going strong) and its been everywhere with me! From car camping trips to multi-day treks in all different climates, it will keep you comfy with all the different options. I thought I would want the lighter weight and more compact Flame Sleeping Bay by sea to summit, (and I am sure I would like it) however I am so glad I got the Altitude Bag instead. I love all of the options and configurations (mostly being able to unzip the foot box and stick my feet out when I want. To me It is worth the extra weight ! The bag keeps me warm when I need it and I can change the set up so I can stay cool if I need to as well. If you are considering this you will not regret buying it!

I have used this bag now for two camping seasons. It is a nice, lightweight bag and the rectangular barrel shape does leave me lots of foot room or storage room for my clothes when it is chilly. I have placed a hot Nalgene bottle in as well and been quite comfy.Pros:-Light-Decent leg/foot space (can curl up in it comfortably on my side or stretch out on my front/back-Lots of venting options (footbox unzips, half zip on off side)-Zips together with unisex bag easily and comfortably-Compresses nicely-Good hydrophobic down (had condensation on the bag at one point, dried very quickly)-Cute little inner pocket for smaller electronics-Nice draft tubes along zippers to keep cold spots outCons:- Neck baffle/"yoke" is a little underwhelming- More ... MoreI have used this bag now for two camping seasons. I'm not a large person, but I'm not super slender either and I wish this had just a little more width in the shoulders. If you're a cold sleeper, make SURE you have a good, higher R-Value sleeping pad to get the most performance out of it. That being said, when my pad failed and deflated last year in -5 Celsius temps overnight, it kept me warm enough with a light liner to get a little proper sleep.

Used my new sleeping bag for the first time in temperatures in the 30’s. Nice warmth. Love the hood. My pillow fits perfect inside it, holding it secure while I sleep. Beautiful bag! Nice loft.

This bag is really comfy and cozy! It feels very light but definitely keeps the heat in! My sleeping pad failed on me on night 2 of a 2 night trip and the bag still kept me reasonably warm. I think I would pair it with one of the liners for Alberta's unpredictable shoulder seasons, but I love how versatile it is. I have tried zipping it together with my boyfriend's bag and we were very comfy, almost too warm! If I feel claustrophobic in it I simply unzip the half zip on the off side and it gives my arms a little room to splay out. After about 5 uses I am noticing some of the down coming out so hopefully this is just a normal thing and won't turn into a big issue. I also love the color (not pink!! Woohoo!)
Hubby and I car-camped last year in Oct. Woke up to 29°F temps, ice on inside of windshield at 5:30 a.m., shivering inside old down bag. I am always cold--even wearing heavy woolen socks at home (poor circulation in legs.) I am also a side sleeper with restless-legs. I tried out my new women's sleeping bag last night--I slept in 27° temp on concrete porch with old ½" closed cell foam yoga mat down first, then R-4.4 Klymit pad, then old woolen Pendleton blanket, finally my new bag. I wore warm leggings, fleece top, Patagonia fleece vest, woolen socks AND new Goosefeet 100% down socks. For the 1st time, I DIDN'T need a hat, neck gaiter nor gloves! I slept like a baby! I could wiggle my legs! sleep on my sides! reposition body easily! Best of all, I was NOT COLD!!! ... MoreHubby and I car-camped last year in Oct. I DID order the Exped DeepSleep (R7.5) sleeping pad BEFORE I did my experiment. I find the R4.4 Klymit pad is fine with the extra closed cell yoga mat and woolen blank. I will experiment and try low temps with only my Klymit pad. I am VERY hard to please with high expectations. I can't believe how much I love this bag--It's warm, comfy, has good space for side-sleeper and wigglers and has great compression sack. NOTHING ruins a camping trip like being cold at night, esp if night is a long time! I couldn't be happier! I give it 10/10 stars!
I decided to upgrade after using an REI down bag for 5 years. And WOAH has it been a game changer. I didn't think it would make THAT big of a difference, but wow! sea to summit products are incredible and this sleeping bag is certainly no exception. most comfy sleeping bag ever! im in heaven! I just can't wait to sleep in my tent again. I have used this in 20-30 degree F temps and have been perfectly warm. THANK YOU SEA TO SUMMIT! most quality products ever! also the color is beautiful. the fabric is incredibly comfy. Buy this if you want to up your camping sleep happiness by 1000000000%
This is hands down THE best sleeping bag I've ever owned! Well worth the investment!! I am obsessed with the color! & Its performance is immaculate! The zippers are easy to zip up & down without worry of snagging. & Even when the temps dropped during the night on my last camping trip, this fluffy bag kept me comfy & cozy all night without needing extra layers or a heater in my tent! I love my Sea to Summit sleeping system!!! (I only wish my new Aeros Down Pillows had arrived in time for this last trip!)
despite much research and talking to snowies staff this sleeping bag was a huge disappointment. I travelled through northern South Australia camping in June/July and I was perpetually cold at night. I am not sure what the reference to -10 is about. It didn't get below zero. If I hadn't of bought a liner I think I would have frozen, it wasn't my sleeping mattress as it is an Exped mattress - highly recommend. Very disappointing and a cold sleep. Don't buy
I really like that it zips on both sides. It is super soft, well made, and packs down small. However, it isn't for robust people. I am 5'4" and weigh 190lbs. I had one heck of a time getting it zipped up. Can I still use it? Absolutely! But it isn't comfortable zipped all the way up. I'll have to use it partially unzipped on both sides. I still give it 5 stars because it is an awesome bag and it isn't their fault that I like tacos and beer.
Product was as described. But... In theory the zipper system sounds great. Sleeping bag, quilt, fold down the upper half, lots of options. Yes, these are bells and whistles that aren't necessary but I splurged. I have a 30 and 0 degree quilt and I wanted a "tweener" for kayak camping. But, these zippers are a nightmare. I literally had to seach online to figure out how the interconnecting zippers came undone. Then the post tells you to just reverse the process. Good luck. The zippers are not at all easy to reconnect. I had bits of over sewn fabric that kept getting caught in the zipper. The footbox zipper keeps pulling apart once put back together. Like when your winter coat comes unzipped from the bottom up! Honestly I wouldn't consider taking this back down to a ... MoreProduct was as described. But... Like when your winter coat comes unzipped from the bottom up! Honestly I wouldn't consider taking this back down to a full open quilt configuration. OMG 45 minutes and 3 adults later we figured it out and got the thing put back together. Talking about feeling like an utter fool for not being able to zip up a sleeping bag and having to search for instructions. It was so frustrating it became comical...It's possible that my bags zippers are faulty (I haven't even taken it on a trip yet). I did find a Sea to Summit link describing the process but the commenting on the post was closed! Hmm, I wonder why! On a positive note I love the color, feel of the fabric, storage bag and compression sack included with purchase. It also came with it's own certificate. I did send an email to S2S and am waiting to hear back. Unfortunately these bags are currently sold out so I cannot get a replacement before my trip next week. Yes, my fault for poor timing. With a bag that cost close to $500 I was expecting more. Again, maybe I just got a lemon but the zipper system is not user friendly and IMO is probably overkill. I won't be keeping this bag. Unfortunate I'm 4 hours from the closest store and online refunds take weeks if not more than a month to process. I usually love S2S products. Based on reviews I thought this was a slam dunk. Unfortunately it ended up being a big disappointment. Love rei and the return policy for members. End on a positive note.
