Bought this in 2012 for a Yellowstone camping trip; campground required grey water be dumped in a specific sink. Last few years have used it with a tiny trailer to capture grey water drained from kitchen sink. Perfect size for capturing a day or twoâs water (2 person family) and carrying to proper dumping place (weight of 10l is light enough to not break your back). Note that when empty, it doesnât stand on its own, but once some water is in it, it will stand. And yes, it does fold down into its pocket again, without too much trouble.

Purchased this to use at the campsite for drinking water. It is very handy to grab water from the lake for filtering. Also useful for hand washing and cleaning while at camp. It is free standing, but it works best if it has at least 3 or 4 litres in it. It is also most stable if placed on a flat surface. High quality materials and seems like it will last. Recommended

We took a 20L and a 10L folding bucket on our recent trip to a Montana wilderness area. Both were helpful in dipping water from the creek (our water source) and carrying the volume needed to provide for our group of 9 members. It also served nicely as a wash bucket. They weigh just a few ounces, dry out quickly and fold flat into their pouch. A great purchase for any kind of camping trip.

I bought this for a backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon in case we needed to settle out sediment from the Colorado River. Fortunately, it was running pretty clear. It was challenging to scoop water with it. The rim kept wanting to collapse inward. I put a rock in the bottom to sink it with mixed results. Worked best in a stream with a small fast flowing waterfall. With all that said, really glad we brought it, since we could bring water into camp and filter at our leisure rather than squat along a river bank. Packed down to the size of a pack of cards.
Bucket works great for filling water filter bag I purchased along with it. A bandanna over the top filters out larger solids if scooping from smaller water sources. Lightweight but needs support from above using bail type handle. Small handle near bottom works well for pouring accurately. Tends to flop over if unsupported and filling more than halfway.
I love this critical piece of equipment. I go ultralight so if something isnât worth the weight I donât bring it but we wouldnât leave home without this little baby. It is light, super durable, and saves so much time and energy going back and forth for water.
A friend of mine has the same bucket and itâs lasted her for awhile. I love the little zippered pack this comes in. Makes it easy to stash and find. There are holes on the carrying case, so could be used to attach to a pack using a carabiner. This bucket is very lightweight and will come in handy when collecting water when backpacking. Although it weighs next to nothing, it is strong and does the job. I also appreciate that the colour is orange, which makes it easy to spot.
I bought this bucket for a Desolation Canyon raft trip, and I was expecting wicked hot temps and silty water. Both were true! This bucket was great to clip by the captain's seat to wash sand and dirt off the boat or have my passenger fill it up and dunk me with it to cool off. Sometimes it was hard to find though, because my friends kept stealing it! Thanks, Sea to Summit :)
When I was a young backpacker, I turned my nose up at gimmicky backpacking gear. This attitude was mostly inherited from my mom, who backpacked all over the place in the â70s and â80s, with her old external frame army green backpack and her bare bones gear. However, as I got older and wiser, I tried out things Iâd previously scoffed at (including trekking poles â WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!). Well, this bucket is one of those âgimmickyâ pieces of gear that turned out to be the holy grail. Itâs such a simple thing, but it so drastically improves our quality of camp life that itâs proved invaluable. Just take it down to the water source, fill it up, and haul it back to camp, then filter it out into water bottles / dishes as needed. Itâs so much easier than hauling pots, water bottles, and hydration bladders down to the creek and filling them all one by one, then hauling them all back to camp.It does have some trouble sitting upright on its own, but once you get it situated itâs usually fine. You can also hang it from a branch via a carabiner.Even my mom, who refuses to buy any newer or lighter gear because what she has âworks just fine,â was a convert after we brought this along on a recent family backpacking trip. On the way home she stopped at REI and bought her own.P.S. It also doubles as a stylish hat if you need to scare the bears, squirrels, or other hikers away from your camp.
This bucket was indispensable on a recent 12 day float trip through the Grand Canyon. Washing clothes, bathing and hauling water was simplified having this bucket along. Thanks for making a great product!
