This is one of the best camping mats I have ever used. I use this mat on extended backpacking trips, car camping, climbing trips, traveling, and truly anything else I would use a sleeping pad for. I ditched my thermarest neo air for this pad because it is far more comfy. It is about 2oz heavier and packs away ever so slightly larger, but is worth it for me as it is way more durable and comfy than the neo air or any other pad I have used for that matter. Despite the pad only being 2 inches thick the air sprung tech is truly amazing and evenly dispersed my weight allowing my to roll around sleeping on my back and side comfortably. It has a pretty solid r value and I have been comfortable using this pad down to the 20s. I slept on this pad for 92 days straight on a ...Ā MoreThis is one of the best camping mats I have ever used. I slept on this pad for 92 days straight on a backpacking trip through the himalaya with very diverse weather and often wet conditions and this pad worked amazing. the Included air fill sack built into the stuff sack is amazing and makes blowing the pad up at high altitude effortless. Sea to summit pads truly have the best valves as it can be used with or without the air pump sack, and also has an adjustable, and allows for air progress capture that is far superior than a thermarest pad. I debatably have had better sleeps on this pad in the back country than I do in my own bed. I am still using the same one I purchased 3 years ago and is still going strong. If I were to get a new pad I would most likely get this one again. Excellent pad.

This is probably the most durable and comfy mat you can find. I bought two one for me and one for my friend. You can't imagine how well you can sleep on such a thin mat. It is 5cm thick and I was afraid it will be too thin and it wasn't. Not to mention I am not the lightest guy (90kg), and on top of that, I am a side sleeper. I guess it comes down to that chamber design. Also proved very sturdy. First use was on low and thick bushes since we couldn't get a flat ground, during the night I could feel the branches pushing in and was already accepting the fact that we broke the matt but it survived without a scratch. About R-value, I used it on 0, -3 c and it felt cold every now and then. Pump sack is awesome.

I now have 2 extra smalls. As far as I can tell, this is the lightest inflatable around: it is certainly a major improvement on any other mat I've owned. The XS is more than long enough: I can't understand why you'd want a longer mat for hiking. Whilst it is thin, these are thick enough to do the job, are ridiculously easy to inflate and very fast to pack up. The yellow colour gets dirty quickly (very small matter), and whilst insulated, these mats are still detectably colder than SI mats. They are moderately slippery and can move around a bit. The noise is HIGHLY over-rated: I don't know how people even notice it! Seven uses, all bush camping (no prepared campsites) and no problems at all so far. I would definitely buy another (I just did! Wifey now has one too). ...Ā MoreI now have 2 extra smalls. As far as I can tell, this is the lightest inflatable around: it is certainly a major improvement on any other mat I've owned. As a side sleeper I have been a fan of baffle design mats for the last 12-18 months. I find they adjust and equalise better especially if Iām fidgeting in my sleep.Iāve been using a No R Rating mat and have found nights long and uncomfortable but eventually I took the plunge and invested in this mat.Side by side you can almost instantly feel the difference the insulation makes. The S2S Ultralight seems to warm up underneath you like a radiator. When you switch to the other mat there is definitely no comparison. My first Wild Camp of the year was at 1 degree and I had a really comfortable night, the only cold spot was when I somehow Magyars to move my feet off the mat. This is a very good quality mat. Iāve used it for numerous hikes now throughout Queensland in cold and hot climates, in Central Queensland and SEQ. Most recently I took it on the Overland Track in October, where overnight temperatures reached below zero. This mat is light, warm, comfortable and intelligently designed.I have always been comfortable sleeping on this mat and Iāve never had an issue with it deflating throughout the night. I always make sure that the plug is facing down into the ground so thereās no chance that I might accidentally open it while Iām rolling over. The bag pump works well and is very efficient. Iāve seen some people with other air mattresses just blowing away with their lungs, going red in the face; my bag pump always blows their minds.Iām also impressed by the size and weight of this mat. When rolled up, itās compact and can easily fit into my ruck sack, and itās very light.I agree that the mat can be noisy, especially if Iām sleeping on a hard surface (I.e. a timber bunk bed in a hut). HOWEVER, Iāve noticed that other air mattresses are just as bad. A number of hikers on the Overland Track had air mattresses from other brands and and they were also very very noisy. I think it has something to do with the ultra light material that most manufacturers are using these days. I donāt think itās as bad when Iām sleeping in my tent, because there probably isnāt as much friction with the ground sheet. But I did find myself getting self conscious about my noisy mat when sleeping in the Overland Track huts. To combat this, I simply placed the mat inside my bag liner, using it like a fitted sheet, which worked like a charm - NO NOISE! I think I will be buying a cheap bag liner for this purpose on future hikes where I think I might disturb other people.Anyway, overall I love this mat. I think it represents excellent value. It has served me well thus far and when it dies, Iāll probably buy another one!
I've been using this sleep mat for overnight hikes for a few months now. Love the compact design, the light weight and the air sack built into the cover. The mat is very comfortable - I'm a side sleeper and had no issues with touching the ground. I've used the mat down to 4C, and had a very comfortable and warm night's sleep. There are no issues with noise, when you move about on the mat. I'm very happy with this sleep mat, and would highly recommend.
Took this out on a 5 night backpacking trip. It was a really comfortable sleep (no aching hips the next morning) and it was a much quieter than my last air mattress. Iām 5ā4ā and I got the short mattress. I had plenty of room. I also noticed a difference in temperature. We backpack in the same park at the same time of year (lows in the 40s and 50s). I didnāt expect to notice a difference but this air mattress stayed a lot warmer than my previous mattress which made for a more comfortable nights sleep.
May is comfortable and packs fairly small. I think it strikes a good balance between comfort, weight and packed size. I had a leak which could not be repaired with a patch (welded spot broke loose) however sea to summit warranty team were quick to send a prepaid shipping label. After sending my pad on they informed me they would send a replacement free of charge.A+ for warranty department!! I am hopin the failure was a fluke and my new pad will provide me great service for years to come.
Overhyped. Very loud, pool toy like fabric. Dimples do nothing to increase comfort and are just a way to reduce weight from an otherwise heavy material. Heavier and less comfortable than expected. Limited packed size compression from included integrated stuff sack. Would not recommend for serious athletes/minimalists. 2 stars because there are no leaks yet.
Being a side sleeper I was somewhat apprehensive about this purchase, but once I laid on it I was pleasantly surprised by how effective and comfortable this mat is despite being only 5 cm thick.I did a lot of research on mats and was initially attracted to a thicker and more economical mat such as for example the Zempire MonstaLite Single Mat, but the R rating and weight of the Sea-to-Summit Ultralight Insulated mat could not be overlooked and I donāt regret buying it.Fully inflating the mat using the bag took about 2min and is easy. The dual one-way flow valve is solid and works well. Deflating and folding the mat to its small packed size is a breeze. This is perhaps the best compromise between price, quality and comfort.Happy
